St. Thomas More 56, Red Cloud 46

RAPID CITY — Class A No. 5 St. Thomas More outlasted Class A No. 4 Red Cloud for a girls basketball win on Monday.

St. Thomas More’s Reese Ross recorded 33 points, while Jada Mollman added 15 points. 

Red Cloud’s Maikole Carlow finished with 11 points, while Ashlan Blount added 10 points. Kennedy Fridia scored nine points. Lolo Carlow and Anjah Lamont scored seven and five points, respectively. 


Avon 59, Kimball/White Lake 57 (OT)

WHITE LAKE — Avon’s Riley Thury hit a shot at the buzzer to lift Avon to an overtime girls basketball win on Monday. 

Avon’s Courtney Sees recorded 23 points, while McKenna Kocmich added 12 points. Thury scored 10 points. 

Kimball/White Lake’s Harley Namanny tossed in 23 points. Ryann Nielsen added 10 points and  eight rebounds. Ryann Grussing scored 10 points and Dani Deffenbaugh added 14 rebounds.


Lyman 58, Chamberlain 46

PRESHO — Lyman won its 10th straight girls basketball game on Monday.

Skyler Volmer powered Lyman with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Mak Scott added 14 points, while Jordyn Scott and Annie Brakke scored six points apiece. 


Chester Area 70, Flandreau Indian School 29

CHESTER — Three players scored in double figures Monday as the Chester Area girls earned a win over Flandreau Indian in girls basketball action Monday. 

Emery Larson led Chester Area with 28 points and five rebounds. Jacy Wolf added 16 points for the Flyers while Emmerson Eppard added 15 points and 10 rebounds. 

Mashyia Main led Flandreau Indian with 13 points while Niyah Sierra scored nine points for Flandreau Indian. 


Harrisburg 59, Tea Area 57 

HARRISBURG — Class AA No. 5 Harrisburg held off Tea Area for a girls basketball win on Monday. 

Harrisburg’s Jaylee Hofer tossed in 16 points, while Sadie Mehrman added 14 points. Hannah Eide scored 12 points. 

Tea Area’s Katie Vasecka scored 21 points. Haidyn West added 14 points, while Mara Grant logged 13 points and 11 rebounds. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 62, Canistota 41

CANISTOTA — Three players scored in double figures helping Elkton-Lake Benton to a win over Canistota in girls basketball action Monday. 

Tevan Erickson led the team with 18 points. Kyla Ramio scored 17 points with Aubrey Schindle having an 11 point night. 

Natalie Becker and Bailey Spicer each had 11 points to lead Canistota. 


Arlington 49, Dell Rapids St. Mary 47 

ARLINGTON — Arlington outlasted Dell Rapids St. Mary for a girls basketball win on Monday. 

Arlington’s Jaelyn Huntimer finished with 13 points, while Addalyn Steffensen added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Harley Johnson recorded eight points, while Isabelle Steffensen had six points. Jolyssa Steffensen added five points and eight rebounds. 

Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Ella Griffin and Madala Hanson scored 17 points apiece. Hanson added seven rebounds. Whitney Warwick scored five points, while Sydney Klein grabbed 12 rebounds. 


Bon Homme 50, Menno 37

MENNO — A balanced scoring attack helped Bon Homme to a win over Menno in girls basketball action Monday.

Jurni Vavruska led Bon Homme with 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and nine steals. Erin Heusinkveld added 12 points and six rebounds for the Cavaliers. 

Ashton Massey led Menno with 13 points and two rebounds. Layne Schmidt pumped in eight points and five rebounds for the Wolves.
