High school football roundup - Colome Cowboys roll past Sunshine Bible Academy

Colome 36, Sunshine Bible Academy 12

Colome turned back Sunshine Bible Academy and picked up its first win of the season on Friday in prep football action. 

 

Platte-Geddes 66, White River 16

The Black Panthers scored 50 unanswered points after trailing 16 to 14 at the end of the first quarter.

Grayson Hanson was a tandem terror, rushing for 190 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. He added a reception for 29 yards. Jackson Neuman went over the century mark with 132 yards and three touchdowns. Dawson Hoffman chipped in a pair of completions for 43 yards.

Dylan Marshall completed seven passes for 88 yards, and he scrambled for 126 yards on the turf. Kendrell Cuevas hauled in four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.


Sully Buttes 30, Corsica-Stickney 8

Sully Buttes amassed 293 rushing yards and topped Corsica-Stickney in high school football action on Friday. 

Landon Hepker finished with 149 rushing yards and two scores. Jordan Schall added 99 rushing yards and one score, while Thomas Farries had a rushing touchdown. Schall added nine tackles on defense. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Caden Vandrongelen posted 126 rushing yards and Shad Bosma had Corsica-Stickney’s lone score. Vandrongelen had 10.5 tackles on defense. The Jaguars finished with 195 total yards, including 177 on the ground. 


Herreid/Selby Area 32, Lemmon/McIntosh 16

Herreid/Selby Area led 24-8 at halftime and held on for a high school football win over Lemmon/McIntosh on Friday.

Tray Hettick threw for a pair of touchdowns and 86 yards for the Wolverines. HSA’s Trey Sayler carried the ball 22 times for 86 yards, while he added a rushing touchdown. Trevor Gill had a touchdown reception.

Branden Begeman had a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and a kickoff return for a score. Hettick and Begeman each had interceptions on defense. 

Lemmon/McIntosh’s Sawyer Thompson threw for 83 yards and a touchdown. Tell Mollman recorded 47 yards, a rushing touchdown and had 7.5 tackles on defense. Talon Trogstad had 33 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. 

 

Timber Lake 58, Jones County 8 

Timber Lake scored 30 first-quarter points and coasted to a prep football win over Jones County on Friday.

Hank Kraft rushed for 137 yards on five carries and scored two touchdowns. Brady Sandquist and Slater Ducheneaux each had a rushing touchdown for Timber Lake, which compiled 359 total yards. 

Kedrick Martin threw for 86 yards and two touchdowns, while Sandquist added a passing touchdown. Jaiden Ducheneaux hauled in two receiving touchdowns, while Chase Marshall caught a touchdown reception. Carter Keller had six tackles and three sacks on defense. Gracen Hansen intercepted a pass. Slater Ducheneaux had a punt return for a score.

For Jones County, Kaden Kinsley had its lone touchdown. The Coyotes finished with 90 total yards. 


Castlewood 55, Britton-Hecla 20

Carson Kirwan rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns. Tristan Nielsen threw for 39 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson Schofield hauled in 21 receiving yards and two receptions. Quincy Thu and Cameron Eng each had a rushing touchdown. Jeremiah Wiersma had five totals on defense. The Warriors recorded 404 total yards, including 365 yards on the ground.

For Britton-Hecla, Aiden Fredrickson had 82 rushing yards and two scores. He intercepted a pass on defense. BoDell Davidson recorded 7.5 tackles on defense. The Braves had 127 total yards. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 52, Northwestern 8

The Patriots rolled to a 30-0 lead at halftime and cruised to a 52-8 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats. Jack Boomsma led Hitchcock-Tulare in passing and rushing on Friday night. His final line was 6 of 10 for 119 yards passing and a touchdown, and he amassed 127 yards rushing on 11 attempts and two touchdowns.

The Wildcats were limited to 56 yards of total offense. Fatahehi Faonelua led the way with 30 yards of offense.

 

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 72, Lakota Tech 0

Mount Vernon/Plankinton erupted for 64 first-quarter points and shutout Lakota Tech in high school football action on Friday.

The Titans finished with 209 yards, including 179 on the ground. Lincoln Klooz and Zach Baker had two rushing touchdowns apiece, while Blaine Bohr, Drew Gerlach and Chris Mayer each had a rushing score. Reed Rus threw a touchdown reception to Jordan Stoltz. Gerlach added a punt return for a score. 


Madison 42, Custer 0

Madison racked up 297 total yards and picked up a prep football win over Custer on Friday. 

The Bulldogs posted 155 rushing yards and 142 passing yards. Nate Ricke finished with 142 passing yards and had three total touchdowns. Bruce Gaide had 92 rushing yards and Kadin Hanscom added 60 rushing yards, while both scored a rushing touchdown. Peyton Wolf had 79 receiving yards. 

For Custer, Mikael Grace passed for 57 yards and Gage Tennyson had 33 rushing yards. Tennyson added 43 receiving yards. Custer finished with 146 total yards. 


Sioux Valley 30, Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 14

Parker Puetz compiled 269 total yards as Sioux Valley downed Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central in a Class 11B contest on Friday. 

Puetz rushed for 128 yards and had two rushing scores, while he threw for 141 yards and had another passing touchdown. Damian Danzeisen had 47 rushing yards and two total touchdowns, including a 58-yard touchdown reception. Danzeisen added 58 receiving yards. 

For WWSSC, Mason Schleske had two touchdown receptions. Blake Larson posted 82 passing yards. Clay Olinger rushed for 41 yards and Carter Grohs had 40 rushing yards. The Blackhawks had 138 rushing yards. 


Milbank 52, Chamberlain 0

Milbank blanked Chamberlain in prep football action on Friday. 

Bennett Schwenn finished with 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Marshall Voeltz added one rushing touchdown. Kaden Krause threw a touchdown pass. Kellen Hoeke added a touchdown reception. Sawyer Gauer scored on a 31-yard fumble return, Karson Weber scored on a 56-yard punt return, Barrett Schneck had a 15-yard interception return for a score and Carter Bowsher had a four-yard interception return for a touchdown. 

Milbank finished with 231 total yards, including 170 rushing yards. 

For Chamberlain, Cruz Soulek had 71 passing yards and three interceptions. The Cubs finished with 77 total yards. 


Ipswich 54, Dupree 0

Ipswich rushed for 151 yards and shutout Dupree in a prep football contest on Friday. 

Colby Sylte finished with 60 rushing yards and Carson Grohl posted 43 rushing yards. Ian Beyer threw for 77 yards, while Carter Geditz had 47 receiving yards. Ty Kadlec had 30 receiving yards. 

For Dupree, J.W. Pederson had 22 rushing yards and Treg Thorstenson threw for 50 yards. 


Florence-Henry 34, Hamlin 24

Florence-Henry scored 22 second-quarter points and earned a 10-point high school football win over Hamlin on Friday.

Tegan Sumner finished with 122 passing yards, while Ashton Hanson added 89 rushing yards. Frank Hanson logged 62 rushing yards. Ethan Paulson had 72 receiving yards and Mehki Keller added 50 receiving yards. 

For Hamlin, Xander Sheehan threw for 82 yards and Luke Fraser rushed for 78 yards. Tyson Stevenson added 34 receiving yards. 


Estelline/Hendricks 40, Waverly-South Shore 0

Estelline/Hendricks rushed for 312 yards and picked up a shutout win over Waverly-South Shore. 

Mattix Hausman finished with 107 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Braxton Saathoff logged 131 rushing yards and had a rushing score. 

Hezikiah Kreger had three rushing touchdowns, while Caden Ching had a rushing score. Ching rushed for 76 yards. Hausman threw for 75 yards. 


Canistota-Freeman 48, Elkton-Lake Benton 18

The Pride rebounded with a balanced night offensively. Tage Ortman triggered 8 of 11 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown. Isiah Robertson chipped in 13 carries for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground and he caught four passes for another 77 yards through the air.

Ryan Krog was outstanding for the Elks, compiling 122 yards through the air and another 132 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.


Lennox 21, West Central 20

Lennox scored the final two touchdowns and edged West Central in high school football action on Friday.

Braeden Wulf threw for 254 yards and three touchdown passes, including the final two to reach the final margin. Steve Christion hauled in 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns. 

For West Central, Gavin Koch had 131 passing yards and Justin Zirpel had 103 rushing yards and two scores.


Chester Area 43, Bon Homme 0

Stratton Eppard accounted for six total touchdowns and Chester Area blanked Bon Homme in prep football action on Friday. 

Eppard finished with 262 passing yards and four touchdown passes, while he had 156 rushing yards and two more scores. Jovi Wolf hauled in 152 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Ryan Benson posted 48 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Max McGreevy added a touchdown reception. 

For Bon Homme, Isaac Crownover rushed for 20 yards. Riley Rothschadl added 65 passing yards.


Winner 44, Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 0

The Warriors rolled on the ground Friday night, racking up 409 yards, and tacked on another 52 yards through the airways. Kaden Keiser went over the century mark with 102, and Joey Cole was a perfect 3 of 3 for 52 and a TD. Slade Cournoyer hauled in one of the three passes for a 27 yard touchdown.

For the Seahawks Kaden Klumb was 1 of 3 for 22 yards passing. Macklen Weber carried the rock 3 times for 26 yards, and Clay Hohn attempted three times for 21 yards. Jay Storm hauled in a pass for 22 yards.

A pair of fumbles by the Seahawks in the first quarter fueled a 22 to 0 lead for the Warriors.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 40, Alcester-Hudson 0

The Cardinals racked up 383 yards of offense, while limiting the Cubs to 71 total yards, en route to a shutout victory.

Gabriel Lindeman toted the ball 18 times for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns. CJ Smith tossed six completions for 94 yards and another touchdown. Nic Gaspar was the primary target, collecting three passes for 53 yards, and a trip to the paydirt.

Jovey Christensen hauled the ball 13 carries for 43 yards for the Cubs.


Kimball/White Lake 49, Centerville 20

The WiLdKats jumped to a 24 point halftime lead and cruised to a 49 to 20 victory.

Holden Havlik put up 19 passes, completing 11, for 264 yards and two touchdown passes.  His main target was Ryder Michalek with five targets for 147 yards and a touchdown reception.  On the ground Levi Nightingale churned 76 yards two touchdown runs on 13 carries.

The Tornadoes were led by Cole Edberg, who tossed 10 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Balleweg contributed a touchdown and 64 yards on the ground. Dalton Knudson was huge, catching a pair of passes for 63 yards and one touchdown.


Jim River 21, Baltic 0

The Trappers remain undefeated in 11 man football games, winning by shutout tonight.

Turner Nicholson was a workhorse with 16 carries for 105 yards and a touchdown. Dawson Bietz passed for 35 yards and a touchdown, and he ground out another 39 yards via the ground.  Logan Sayler caught half the completions for 42 yards.


Wall 32, Harding County 6

The Eagles knocked off top ranked Harding County, scoring the first 32 points of the game. 

Burk Blasius tossed for 111 yards and scrambled for another 58 yards on the ground. Cedar Amiotte racked up three touchdown runs and 127 yards on 16 carries. Rylan McDonnell snagged three passes for 38 yards.

Harding County collected 130 yards through the air from Kelby Hett, whose leading receiver was Keegan Hett with 76 yards via six catches. Cayden Floyd chipped in 46 yards on the ground. Kelby Hett scored the lone Rancher touchdown on one of his six carries for 31 yards.

Defensively, Cedar Amiotte led the way with 5.5 tackles and an interception.
