De Smet 60, Castlewood 7

De SMET -- Class 9A No. 1 De Smet stayed undefeated with a Thursday high school football win over Castlewood. 

Kalen Garry powered the Bulldogs with 173 rushing yards on six carries and scored two touchdowns. He added a touchdown reception and a punt return for a score.  

Rett Osthus scored a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. Colt Wilkinson threw for 82 yards and two passing touchdowns, while rushing for 29 yards. Trace Van Regenmorter and Lane Holland each scored a rushing touchdown. 

Defensively, Wilkinson had eight tackles and Garry posted six tackles. Osthus, Kadyn Fast and Tory Holland had three tackles apiece. Fast intercepted a pass. 

Burke 61, Corsica-Stickney 18

BURKE -- Burke bolted out to a 28-6 first-quarter lead en route to a Thursday high school football win over Corsica-Stickney. 

Ben Witt threw for 160 yards and two touchdown passes, while rushing for 93 yards and another score. Taron Serr scored three rushing touchdowns and had 58 yards on the ground. Jackson Bauld, Gentry Bartling and Sawyer Tietgen each had a touchdown run. Bryce Frank had 69 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Defensively, Serr and Brogan Glover each had an interception. The Cougars finished with 547 total yards, including 387 rushing yards on 33 carries.

Corsica-Stickney’s Shad Bosma had 81 passing yards and a passing touchdown. Carter Wright added 64 rushing yards and a score, while hauling in a touchdown reception. Tate Tolsma added a rushing touchdown. Cole Feenstra had 93 receiving yards. The Jaguars finished with 279 total yards.
