Jones County 45, Sunshine Bible Academy 22


SUNSHINE BIBLE --  Slade Benedict ran for 126 yards and a touchdown and caught another 16 yards receiving, leading the Coyotes to victory.


Jones County ran for 249 yards, threw for 87 yards, and returned for another 125 yards Friday afternoon.  Gunnar Whitney ran for 39 yards and a touchdown, and Carter Erickson ran for 38 yards and a touchdown.  Kaden Kinsley completed five passes for 87 yards and a score.


The Crusaders’ Nolan Triebwasser tossed 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns offensively.  The Sunshine Bible defense was led by Daniel Gerbracht, who racked up 22 tackles and a sack, and Josh VanHeuvelen’s 15 tackles and three sacks.


Avon 50, Colome 14


AVON --  The Class 9B #1 ranked Pirates remained undefeated behind the performance of Riley Rucktaeschel, who collected 64 yards passing and 67 yards rushing in a three touchdown evening. Rucktaeschel racked up 10 tackles defensively with one being for loss. The Pirates totalled 315 yards of offense.  Brady Bierema had three solo tackles and an interception for a touchdown.


The Cowboys were led by Quarterback Eli Vobr.  Vobr completed seven of 13 passes for 96 yards, and he scrambled for another 65 yards and a touchdown.


Gayville-Volin 57, Centerville 22


GAYVILLE -- The Pirates rolled up 285 yards rushing and another 115 yards passing to defeat the Tornadoes.


Gayville-Volin’s leading rushers were Kyle Hirsch with 135 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown and Andrew Gustad with 126 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries.  Nate Quatier completed eight of 10 tosses for 115 yards and three touchdown passes.  Gustad wrapped up 8.5 tackles, three for loss, and a quarterback sack.


The Tornadoes took to the air and were led by Cole Edberg’s 22 of 37 for 219 yards and a touchdown performance. Malachi Brouwer led Centerville with four catches for 75 yards.  Austin Bohlman and Dalton Knudson chipped in 47 yards and 42 yards and a touchdown respectively.


Winner 32, WWSSC 0


WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Top ranked Winner remained undefeated behind Kaden Keiser’s three touchdown performance.  


The Warriors racked up 261 yards of rushing and were led by Keiser with 84 yards on 11 carries. Riley Orel contributed another 76 yards on 10 carries. Joey Cole was perfect from the pocket with a three for three performance for 50 yards passing.  Jack Peters led the Winner defensively with 7.5 tackles.


The Blackhawks could manage only 154 yards offensively against the Warrior defense. Clay Olinger led the charge with 19 carries for 97 yards, and he led the WWSSC defense with six tackles and one for loss.


Alcester-Hudson 28, Burke 27


ALCESTER --  Jovey Christensen went off for 239 yards rushing and two touchdowns rushing on 28 carries, leading the Cubs to victory.


The Cubs posted 363 yards of total offense, mostly on the ground with 328 yards via the turf. Caden Winquist collected a pair of passes for 35 yards receiving.  Defensively, Jose Topete-Lopez racked up 7.5 tackles, including one and a half sacks, and three tackles for loss.  Evan Brown nabbed an interception for the Cubs defense.


The Cougars were explosive and balanced in a losing effort. Burke totalled 392 yards of total offense, 260 yards rushing and another 132 passing yards.  Taron Serr battled for 103 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, Jackson Bauld added 70 yards on six carries, and Ben Witt chipped in 59 yards on six scrambles.  Witt completed eight of 14 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown.  Bryce Frank caught six balls for 102 yards.


Sioux Valley 34, Elk Point-Jefferson 38


VOLGA --  Class 11B #3 ranked Cossacks rallied again for their fifth victory of the season.  Damian Danzeisen scored with :06 remaining in the game to vault Sioux Valley to victory.  Danzeisen carried 12 times for 116 yards in the evening.


Parker Puetz led the Cossacks with 169 yards on 20 carries and a seven of 10 passing performance for another 154 yards.  Sioux Valley tallied 469 yards of total offense.  Carson Christopherson had 19 tackles.


For the Huskies Ben Swatek ran 14 times for 86 yards, while Devon Schmitz ground out 54 yards on 10 hauls.  Noah McDermott completed six passes on 10 attempts for 99 yards.


Wolsey-Wessington 28, Gregory 10


WOLSEY --  The Warbirds ground out a victory over the Gorillas behind the rushing combination of Marty Gohn, who carried 22 times for 119 yards and four touchdowns, and Eric Klanchnik, who ran 21 times for 126 yards. Defensively, Keegan Haider racked up 10 tackles.


The Gorillas’ Rylan Peck had 234 yards of offense, 163 yards passing and 71 yards rushing.  Kade Stukel ran for 43 yards and Gregory’s only touchdown. Trey Murray was the defensive leader with 13 tackles.


Hanson 22, Chester Area 20 


CHESTER --  Hanson held on for the victory, as Chester missed a 30 yard field goal at the buzzer on Friday night.


The Beavers Hadley Wallace ran 13 times for 79 yards, including a 48 yard touchdown run.  Kade Waldera completed nine passes on 12 attempts for 96 yards and a pair of scores.  Riley Haynes caught a 25 yard touchdown pass, and Ethan Cheeseman added another 10 yard touchdown catch.


Chester was led by Stratton Eppard’s 27 carry for 159 yards performance, including touchdown runs of 15 and 8 yards.  Eppard also completed 17 of 20 passes for 119 yards.  Jovi Wolf caught 8 receptions for 66 yards.  Ryan Benson returned a kickoff touchdown 95 yards and successfully converted two of three PATs.


Yankton 45, Mitchell 0


MITCHELL --  The fourth ranked Bucks lept to a 28 point halftime lead and coasted to a 45 point victory over the Kernels.


Yankton was led offensively by Ruby Ryken’s four touchdown performance on 12 completions and 112 yards passing.  Cody Oswald caught two passes, both for touchdowns, and Max Raab received two passes for 46 yards and a score.  Gavin Swanson ran 20 times for 82 yards.  James Stewart racked up 7 tackles, two for losses, and a sack.


The Kernels were led by Josh Grosdidier, who ran for 86 yards, and Treyson Schulz, who contributed another 53 yards rushing.  Joe Van Overschelde collected eight tackles, four solo and one for a loss.


Tea 63, Douglas 6


BOX ELDER --  Top ranked Tea erupted for their sixth win of the season over the Patriots.  Titan Cael Lundin was perfect on four passes for 95 yards and a score, and Chase Van Tol romped for a pair of touchdown runs and 52 yards. Douglas turned the ball over six times to the Titans in the loss


Patriot Shawn Stock had 64 yards rushing and the lone touchdown for Douglas.


Madison 40, Tri-Valley 0


COLTON --  The top ranked Bulldogs earned a victory on the road with 422 yards of offense and limiting the Mustangs to 161 yards defensively.


Nate Ricke ran 19 times for 110 yards, and he completed nine passes for another 155 yards and three passing touchdowns through the air.  Peyton Wolf hauled in three passes for 80 yards.  Kadin Hanscom returned an interception 45 yards for a score, while Trey Smith tallied 12.5 tackles for Madison.


Isaac McFarland ran for 76 yards to lead Madison offensively and wrapped up 7.5 tackles defensively.


Canistota-Freeman 50, Irene-Wakonda 0


FREEMAN -- The Pride were stifling defensively Friday afternoon, holding the Eagles to 106 yards of offense in the shutout victory.  Noah Kleinsasser had 7.5 tackles and one TFL, while Ethan Balvin racked up 6.5 tackles respectively.  Brady Scott had three tackles and an interception.


Offensively, the Pride saw Kleinsasser hit the 100 yards rushing on 11 carries.  Isaiah Robertson ran for a pair of touchdowns. Isaiah Robertson caught three passes 96 yards, while reaching paydirt three times.


Dashel Sprrell ran for 44 yards and threw for another 19 yards for the Eagles.

 

Redfield 28, Mobridge-Pollock 14


REDFIELD -- Redfied took advantage of four Mobridge-Pollock turnovers to earn their fifth win of the season, and third in a row. 


Quarterback Easton Miller had a big night through the air completing 12 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns. Chase McGillivary also tossed a touchdown pass for the Pheasants. Mason Whitley led the rushing attack with 24 yards. Whitley and Keaton Rohlfs each had interceptions to lead the defensive effort. 


For Mobridge-Pollock, quarterback Holden Eiseman finished with 85 yards and one touchdown pass. Cole Wellner led the Tiger rushing attack with 119 yards and one touchdown. 


St. Thomas More 22, Spearfish 21 (OT)


SPEARFISH -- After finishing regulation tied at 14-14 Spearfish scored first and kicked an extra point. On their overtime possession, St. Thomas More’s Lee Neugebauer hit Tyson Durham for a touchdown. Neugebauer then found Matthew Larson for the two-point conversion as the Cavaliers prevailed in a critical Black Hills Conference matchup. 


Neugebauer was 15-of-29 passing and finished with a touchdown and 116 yards. Matthew Larson rushed for 122 yards and one touchdown. Kellen Weber added 65 yards on the ground while Jed Sullivan hauled in six passes for 68 yards. 


For Spearfish, Jaden Guthmiller finished with 156 yards passing and three touchdowns. Peyton Millis caught seven passes for 127 yards while fellow wide receiver Brayden Delahoyde caught two passes, both of them touchdowns. 



Parkston 35, Kimball/White Lake 7


PARKSTON -- The Trojans rushed for 325 yards and netted 403 yards to win their fourth consecutive game, improving to 5-2 on the season. 


Cole Prunty continued his torrid play with eight rushing attempts, 139 yards and a touchdown. Payton Albrecht finished with 99 yards and a touchdown while Kaleb Weber also added a score on the ground. Weber completed just four passes with two of those completions being touchdown passes


Holden Havlik finished with 94 yards and a touchdown pass to Carter Lenz. Levi Nightengale led Kimball/White Lake in rushing with 83 yards.


Wall 57, White River 0


WALL -- Lex Heathershaw’s Wall Eagles improved to 7-0 on the season with 349 total yards in a win over White River. 


Quarterback Burk Blasius completed all three of his pass attempts for 111 yards and two scores. Cedar Amiotte led the rushing attack with 90 yards and a touchdown. Mason Heath had 64 yards and found the endzone twice. Amiotte and Cayne Krogman each had touchdown receptions. 


For White River Dylan Marshall finished with 90 yards passing and 20 yards rushing TJ Beardt finished with four receptions and 55 yards.

Milbank 36, Dakota Valley 13

 

NORTH SIOUX CITY --  The Bullldogs traveled south and came up with an 11A victory behind the two touchdown performances of Bennett Schwenn and Kaden Krause.  Schwenn led Milbank with 142 yards and scoring runs of 92 and 8 yards.  Krause complimented with 49 yards rushing and plunges of 1 and 2 yards.

 

Dakota Valley was led by Ethan Enema, who passed for 166 yards on 10 completions, one touchdown, and an interception.  Joey Bryan hauled in a 64 yard touchdown reception for the Panthers.
