High school football roundup - Potter County's Grant Luikens tosses 4 touchdowns in win over Newell

Potter County 50, Newell 8

Grant Luikens passed for 226 yards and four touchdowns to power Potter County to a prep football win over Newell on Saturday. 

Luikens finished 5 of 7, while he rushed for 24 yards and had a rushing touchdown. Colt Wieseler and Cooper Logan each had rushing touchdowns for Potter County, which rushed for 154 yards. 

Seth Sharp caught three passes for 133 yards and had one receiving touchdown. Drake Bassett had 60 receiving yards and one touchdown reception. 

Newell’s Nate Randolph hauled in 94 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Chase VanDerBoom passed for 53 yards, while Gavin Tesch had 39 receiving yards. 


Wagner 57, Bennett County 6

Dustin Honomichl passed for 152 yards and two touchdowns as Wagner picked up a high school football victory over Bennett County on Saturday.

Honomichl was perfect 10 of 10, while he rushed for 61 yards and added three more rushing touchdowns. Jhett Breen rushed for 74 yards and scored two touchdowns. Henny Hayward added a rushing score. Toby Zephier and Riley Roberts each had receiving touchdowns. Zephier caught four passes for 85 yards. Kahle Hill had three tackles on defense.

Wagner finished with 367 total yards. 


Parker 26, Rapid City Christian 0

Parker pitched a shutout against Rapid City Christian in a Saturday high school football contest. The game was called in the third quarter due to lightning. 

The Pheasants finished with 139 total yards, including 94 yards through the air. Logan Bridges accounted for all passing yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Jack Even rushed for 69 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns. 

Charlie Patten and Davin Fuller both hauled in touchdown receptions. Patten finished with 45 receiving yards, while Fuller had 39 receiving yards. Levi Wieman posted a team-high seven tackles.

For Rapid City Christian, David Hubacher passed for 50 yards. Wyatt Batie had 47 receiving yards on five receptions.
