Sioux Valley 24, Beresford 0

VOLGA -- Parker Puetz threw for 179 yards and scored three Sioux Valley touchdowns in a high school football win over Beresford on Friday. 

Puetz, who completed 7 of 14 pass attempts, connected with David Knutson and Damian Danzeisen for a pair of touchdown passes. He also returned an interception for a score. Puetz had 68 rushing yards on 17 carries. 

Sioux Valley’s McKade Rentsch added a five-yard touchdown run and finished with 83 rushing yards. Danzeisen hauled in three catches for 90 yards. Carson Christopherson posted 10 tackles on defense. 

Beresford’s Peyton Fridrich had 96 rushing yards on 21 carries. Peyton VanOtterloo threw for 87 yards, while Jake Goblirsch had 31 receiving yards. Tate VanOtterloo added 46 rushing yards. Landon Schurch racked up 10 tackles. 


Avon 30, Hitchcock-Tulare 28

AVON -- Class 9B No. 1 Avon held off the Class 9B No. 5 Hitchcock-Tulare by denying a two-point conversion attempt with less than a minute in regulation. 

Erik Salmen scored from three yards out for Hitchcock-Tulare with 56 seconds remaining to set up the crucial PAT.

Brady Bierema was the workhorse for the Pirates, carrying the ball 21 times for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bierema scored from 34, 15, and 54 yards out for the Pirates. Riley Rucktaeschel chipped in 43 yards rushing and a touchdown carry from 22 yards away to seal the victory for Avon. Defensively, Rucktaeschel had 15.5 tackles and Bierema had nine tackles and an interception.

The Patriots’ Erik Salmen carried the ball 31 times for 193 yards and three touchdown runs.  Landon Puffer and Kyle Hamilton chipped in 45 and 44 yards respectively for Hitchcock-Tulare on the ground. Puffer completed four passes for another 45 yards via the air. Jackson Maynard led the Patriots defensively with nine solo tackles.

Burke 40, Gayville-Volin 34

BURKE -- Burke outscored Gayville-Volin 26-8 in the fourth quarter to rally for a high school football win on Friday. 

Ben Witt completed two touchdown receptions to Taron Serr with under one minute left to complete the comeback. Witt finished with 231 passing yards and had three touchdown passes. 

Serr added 109 rushing yards and had two rushing touchdowns. Jackson Bauld added a rushing score. Serr finished with 105 receiving yards on five catches. Bryce Frank added 81 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Serr had a team-high 4.5 tackles, while Witt intercepted two passes on defense. Brogan Glover had an interception. 

Gayville-Volin’s Nate Quatier passed for 126 yards and had a passing touchdown. Quatier rushed for 59 yards and two more scores. Andrew Gustad amassed 180 rushing yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns. Kyle Hirsch hauled in seven catches for 117 yards and had a touchdown reception. Gustad and Hirsch both had interceptions on defense. 


Platte-Geddes 20, Kimball/White Lake 7

PLATTE -- Platte-Geddes scored the final 20 points and topped Kimball/White Lake in high school football action on Friday.

Grayson Hanson paced the Black Panthers with 134 rushing yards on 22 carries and had two rushing touchdowns. Chase Varilek added 90 rushing yards on 17 carries. Dawson Hoffman had a touchdown pass to Jackson Olsen. Hanson recorded nine tackles and an interception. Varilek added 4.5 tackles and an interception. Platte-Geddes finished with 264 total yards, including 223 yards on the ground. 

KWL’s Holden Havlik rushed for 67 yards and had a rushing touchdown. He also threw for 31 yards. Myers rushed for 48 yards on seven carries. Ryder Michalek had 22 receiving yards. Levi Nightingale posted eight tackles, while Beau Kirsch had an interception. The WiLdKats had 214 total yards. 


Mt. Vernon/Plankinton 6, Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 0

MT. VERNON -- On a night where offense wasn’t at a premium, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton ground out 267 yards of total offense to earn a win over Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central in prep football action Friday. 

Quarterback Reed Rus’ scamper from one-yard propelled Mt. Vernon Plankinton to a Friday night win. Rus completed five of nine passes for 69 yards while rushing for 67 yards on 23 carries. Lincoln Klooz led Mt. Vernon/Plankinton with 70 rushing yards on 12 carries. Defensively Cole Pranger led the charge with 10 tackles. 

Clay Olinger led the BlackHawks with 35 rushing yards on 12 carries. Defensively Carter Grohs finished with ten tackles while Camden Jost had an interception. 


Parkston 66, Wolsey-Wessington 40

WOLSEY -- Parkston won its fifth consecutive game to close out the regular season with a 6-2 record on Friday night. 

Cole Prunty was rock solid rushing for 260 yards while rushing for four touchdowns. Kolter Kramer eclipsed the century mark with 108 rushing yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Kaleb Weber finished with 57 yards passing and one passing touchdown. Max Scott led the Trojans with 38 receiving yards while Payton Albrecht led the defense with eight tackles. 

Wolsey-Wessington quarterback Blaze Herdman finished with 238 yards passing while throwing for two touchdown passes. Marty Gohn led the rushing attack with 51 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Jemetrius Scott accumulated 121 receiving yards and one touchdown. Carson Zomer added 72 yards receiving while hauling down a touchdown pass. 

 

Wagner 28, Jim River 16

MENNO -- Wagner bolted out to a 22-0 halftime lead and topped Jim River in a regular season finale on Friday. 

Wagner’s Dustin Honomichl threw for 89 yards and had two touchdown passes. He connected with Toby Zephier and Riley Roberts for touchdown receptions. Chris Nelson added 99 rushing yards on 16 carries and a rushing score. Nolan Dvorak led the Wagner defense with 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception. Glen Cournoyer added an interception on defense. 

Jim River’s Dawson Bietz threw for 156 yards and had two touchdown passes. Turner Nicholson added 69 rushing yards on 18 carries and had a rushing touchdown. Cole Friederich caught seven catches for 95 yards and had two receiving touchdowns.


Corsica-Stickney 42, Centerville 12

CORSICA -- Corsica-Stickney compiled 346 total yards en route to a high school football win over Centerville on Friday.

Carter Wright led the Jaguars with 102 receiving yards, 67 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Shad Bosma had three rushing touchdowns and had 25 rushing yards. Bosma added 106 passing yards and a passing touchdown. Tyson Wentland threw for 112 passing yards and also hauled in a receiving touchdown. Caden Vandrongelen had a rushing touchdown. Vandrongelen had 9.5 tackles on defense, while Cole Feenstra, Bosma and Tate Tolsma had interceptions. 

Centerville’s Cole Edberg threw for 174 passing yards and two touchdown passes. He added 27 rushing yards. Austin Bohlman hauled in 43 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Lane Johnson also had a touchdown reception. Owen Hunter had a team-high 62 receiving yards and 11 tackles on defense. Malachi Brouwer had an interception. 

 

Warner 35, Hamlin 24

HAYTI -- Hunter Cramer recorded 122 rushing yards and four touchdowns to power Warner past Hamlin on Friday. 

Brodey Sauerwein added 130 passing yards and a passing touchdown. Zachary Wood posted 70 rushing yards, 87 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Peyton Jung racked up 7.5 tackles. 

Hamlin’s Xander Sheehan erupted for 339 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Luke Fraser caught six catches for 155 yards and a touchdown reception. Tyson Stevenson added 113 receiving yards on seven catches and a touchdown reception. Fraser scored a rushing touchdown. Evan Stormo led the defense with 7.5 tackles.

 

Wall 42, New Underwood 8

NEW UNDERWOOD -- Wall posted 435 total yards and completed an undefeated regular season on Friday. 

Burk Blasius led the Eagles with 188 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Blasius added 35 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Cedar Amiotte added 93 rushing yards on five carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. Levi Sharp posted a rushing touchdown. Rylan McDonnell and Reid Hansen both hauled in touchdown receptions. Blair Blasius had a team-high 7.5 tackles, while McDonnell intercepted a pass. 

New Underwood’s Cole Knuppe threw for 84 yards and had a passing touchdown. Cash Albers hauled in 68 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown. Cody Flint had 6.5 tackles on defense.

 

De Smet 34, Dell Rapids St. Mary 16

DELL RAPIDS -- De Smet rallied past Dell Rapids St. Mary to complete a perfect regular season on Friday. 

Colt Wilkinson tossed a pair of touchdown passes and finished with 168 passing yards. He added 24 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Rett Osthus added 55 receiving yards, 55 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Kadyn Fast hauled in 66 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. 

Wilkinson added a team-high 14 tackles, while Tory Holland and Osthus had nine tackles apiece. Osthus intercepted a pass on defense. 

 

Lyman 54, Jones County 0

MURDO -- Colton Collins racked up 164 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns as Lyman blanked Jones County on Friday. Collins scored on touchdown runs of 6, 26, 2 and 70 yards. 

Teagan Gourneau, Rory McManus and Shilo Mowry each had a rushing touchdown. Gourneau rushed for 80 yards. Lyman finished with 408 total yards, including 403 yards on the ground.

 

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 54, Baltic 0

BALTIC -- Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan blanked Baltic in its regular season finale on Friday.

Koby Kayser powered the Seahawks with three rushing touchdowns. Kaden Klumb added a rushing touchdown and passing touchdown to Sam Hofer. Clay Hohn, Taite Klumb and Skylar Hopkins added rushing touchdowns for the Seahawks. 

 

Harding County/Bison 56, Faith 0

FAITH -- Harding County/Bison blanked Faith to finish the regular season with a 5-3 record. 

Keegan Hett paced the Ranchers with 78 rushing yards and had two rushing touchdowns. Hett added 81 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Rylee Veal threw for 89 yards and three passing touchdowns. Cayden Floyd and Dawson Kautzman each had rushing touchdowns. Floyd had 46 rushing yards. Kaden Green and Cade Martian both hauled in touchdown receptions. Braden Routier had five tackles, while Hett intercepted two passes on defense.


Lennox 38, Chamberlain 0

LENNOX -- Despite being outgained in total offense 307-265, Lennox had enough to earn a shutout win in prep football action Friday. 

Jackson Arlt led the way for Lennox rushing for 133 yards on 17 carries while scoring three touchdowns. Braedon Wulf passed for 68 yards on seven completions with an interception. Carer Van Houten caught three passes for 34 yards while Arlt corralled three passes for 29 yards. 

Jace Langbehn led the Orioles defense with 11 tackles, Ayden Spielman recorded an interception and Triston Butler came up with three sacks. 


Arlington/Lake Preston 50, Estelline/Hendricks 29

ESTELLINE -- Arlington/Lake Preston muscled its way to 432 yards of total offense to earn a prep football win Friday. 

Caleb Clark had a night to remember with 347 yards rushing on 35 carries while rushing for six touchdowns. Clark also completed one pass for 62 yards and a touchdown. Britt Carlson added 44 yards of rushing while Britt Carlson hauled in a 62 yard pass for a touchdown. Defensively joch McMasters led the way with eight tackles. 

Caden Ching led Estelline/Hendricks with137 yards rushing on eight carries while scoring three touchdowns. Ethan Axtell added 80 yards rushing with one rushing touchdown. Mattix Hausman added a rushing touchdown for Estelline/Hendricks. Braxton Seathoff caught seven passes for 52 yards. 


Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 32, Castlewood 18 

OLDHAM -- Oldham-Ramona/Rutland used a 20-point fourth quarter to hold off Castlewood in Friday high school football action. 

ORR’s Will Matson finished with 72 passing yards and two passing touchdowns, while he rushed for 68 yards and two more scores. Orion Albertson rushed for 76 yards and a rushing touchdown. Isaac Trigstad and Will Olson both had touchdown receptions. Matson had a team-high 19 tackles. 

Castlewood’s Tristan Nielsen had 22 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He added 88 passing yards, while Lane Tvedt had a passing touchdown. Carson Kirwan rushed for a team-high 69 yards. Jackson Schofield posted 82 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Booker Schooley had 13.5 tackles and an interception. Kegan Tvedt and Logan Eng both had interceptions.


Elk Point-Jefferson 50, Parker 0

ELK POINT -- Elk Point-Jefferson ground out 276 yards of total offense to earn a win over Parker in prep football action Friday night. 

Lucas Hueser led the rushing attack with 79 yards on five carries while scoring a touchdown. Jacob Lichtenberg, Ben Swatek and Ethan Kelly eached rushe for touchdowns on the night. Quarterback Noah McDermott completed 14 passes for 175 yards and two touchdown passes. Devin Schmitz had seven catches for 87 yards and a touchdown reception. Lichtenberg added a receiving touchdown for Elk-Point Jefferson.

For Parker, Jack Evan rushed for 27 yards on 12 carries. Davin Fuller hauled in two passes for 17 yards. 


Milbank 27, Redfield 15

REDFIELD -- Milbank improved to 5-3 on the season by grinding out 311 yards of total offense to earn a prep football win over Redfield on Friday. 

Kaden Krause carried the football 18 times for 189 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Ryker Trevett added 89 yards rushing on 16 carries. Sawyer Gauer added a rushing touchdown for the Bulldogs. Jayden Johnson led the defensive effort with seven tackles while Jace Rufer added four tackles and a sack. 

Redfield quarterback Easton Millar completed 19 passes for 226 yards while throwing for two touchdowns. Sean Domke caught three passes for 52 yards while leading the team in tackles with six, including one for a loss. 


Tea Area 45, Spearfish 12

SPEARFISH -- Class 11A No.1 Titans travelled across the state and came away with a victory by churning 343 yards of offense in wintery conditions, while limiting the Spartans to 170 yards defensively.

Cael Lundin was an efficient four of seven for 91 yards and a touchdown pass. Klayton Sattler hauled in three catches for 64 yards and the touchdown. Nathan Babb led the way for Tea on the ground, churning out 112 yards on only 13 carries. Chase Von Tol scored three rushing touchdowns on seven carries for 70 yards, and Jackson Smythe managed four carries for 31 yards and another rushing touchdown. Defensively, Tea was staunch against the run, holding the Spartans to 25 yards on the ground on 16 carries.

Spartans’ Jaden Guthmiller completed eight passes for 145 yards, including two touchdown passes. Brayden Delahoyde and Peyton Millis caught three passes each for 81 yards and 57 yards with each having a touchdown reception.

Mitchell 27, Watertown 13

WATERTOWN -- Mitchell scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to put away Watertown in high school football action on Friday.

Josh Grosdidier paced the Kernels with 155 rushing yards on 25 carries and one touchdown. Treyson Schulz and Tucker Vilhauer rushed for 55 and 53 yards, respectively. They both scored a rushing touchdown. Schulz passed for 71 yards and a touchdown. A.J. Siemsen hauled in a touchdown reception. 

Watertown’s Owen Spartz rushed for 129 yards on 23 carries. Drew Norberg threw for 90 yards, while rushing for 42 yards and a touchdown. Reese Stark caught five catches for 55 yards. 


Pierre 52, Aberdeen Central 35

ABERDEEN CENTRAL -- Lincoln Kienholz tossed seven touchdown passes and 377 yards to power Pierre to a Friday high school football win over Aberdeen Central.

Kienholz delivered two touchdown passes to Jace Merkwan, who hauled in 190 receiving yards. Kienholz also fired two touchdown passes to Jett Zabel and Matthew Hanson, while Cade Keiser also caught a touchdown reception. Kienholz added a rushing touchdown. 

Aberdeen Central’s Sam Rohlfs threw 188 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Alec Voegele had 111 yards receivings and two touchdown receptions. Karson Carda rushed for 128 yards and had two rushing touchdowns. 


Potter County 50, Sully Buttes 0

GETTYSBURG -- Grant Luikens threw four touchdown passes and 138 yards as Potter County blanked Sully Buttes on Friday. 

Luikens added 77 rushing yards and had two interceptions on defense, including a pick-six to end the contest. Cooper Logan had two rushing touchdowns and hauled in two receiving touchdowns. 


Ipswich 54, North Central 0

IPSWICH -- Ipswich racked up 338 rushing yards in a shutout win over North Central on Friday.

Carson Gohl led the Tigers with 107 rushing yards on six carries and two rushing touchdowns. Luke Peterson added 65 rushing yards and two rushing scores. Colby Sylte rushed for 44 yards and a score. Zach Geditz and Chet Peterson added rushing touchdowns, while Trevor Beyers had an interception for a score. 


Alcester-Hudson 56, Colome 8

ALCESTER -- Jovey Christensen scored three rushing touchdowns on four carries to lift Alcester-Hudson past Colome on Friday. 

Christensen finished with 170 rushing yards, while William Hallaway rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Caden Winquist added a rushing touchdown. Mateo Kleinhans had two passing touchdowns for the Cubs. Jose Topete-Lopez and Owen Bovill both hauled in touchdown receptions. Jason Wennblom had a team-high 6.5 tackles, while Christensen, Hallaway and Bovill each had interceptions. The Cubs racked up 459 total yards, including 440 on the ground.

Colome’s Eli Vobr had its lone touchdown and rushed for 54 yards. Vobr added 57 passing yards, while Billy Looking Cloud rushed for 73 yards and had 57 receiving yards
