Wagner 68, Scotland 26

SCOTLAND — Three players scored in double figures as Class A No. 4 picked up a road win over Scotland in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Emma Yost paced the Red Raiders with 17 points and seven rebounds. Ashlyn Koupal had 16 points and seven rebounds while Shalayne Nagel had 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. 

Trinity Bietz led Scotland with 10 points with Martina DeBoer adding five points, three rebounds and three assists. 


Hamlin 52, Sisseton 43

HAYTI — Class A No. 1 Hamlin knocked off Sisseton in a Northeast Conference girls basketball game on Thursday.

Hamlin’s Kami Wadsworth finished with 16 points, while Ally Abraham added 14 points. Addie Neuendorf and Brooklyn Brandriet scored nine and eight points, respectively. 

Sisseton’s Emmalee Nielsen scored 12 points and Krista Langager added 10 points. Hannah Leverson and Chloe Langager scored nine points apiece. 


Wolsey-Wessington 77, Highmore-Harrold 51

HIGHMORE — Four players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 2 Wolsey-Wessington to a girls basketball win over Highmore-Harrold on Thursday. 

Mya Boomsma recorded 22 points, while Leah Williams scored 21 points. Mallory Miller added 16 points and Taylor Horn posted 12 rebounds.

Highmore-Harrold’s Regan Westcott and Addison McDonnell posted 12 points apiece. Brooke Palmer scored eight points. Kendall Cermak and Kenidey Effling scored five points apiece. 


Viborg-Hurley 52, Centerville 41

HURLEY — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley pulled ahead late for a win over Centerville in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Estelle Lee paced Viborg-Hurley with 16 points and four rebounds. Coral Mason added 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals. Denae Mach and Charley Nelson combined for 20 points and four rebounds. 

Makayla Heesch led Centerville with 11 points. Thea Gust and Keira Austin each scored nine points for Centerville. 


Milbank 65, Deuel 41

MILBANK — Maurina Street and Isabella Anderson combined for 36 points as Milbank picked up a win over Deuel in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Street led the Milbank attack with 21 points, four steals and an assist. Anderson finished with 15 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists. Siera Wenzl scored 11 points for Milbank. 

Josie Anderson led Deuel with 10 points while Kaitlyn Gubrud added nine points. 


Leola/Frederick Area 42, Faulkton Area 32

FAULKTON — Laura Sumption and Sophie Losure combined for 17 points as Leola/Frederick Area earned a win over Faulkton Area in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Sumption powered the Leola/Frederick Area attack with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Losure added 10 points and six rebounds while Alyx Hoffman scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds. 

Addison Melius led Faulkton Area with 13 points, five rebounds and four steals. 


Florence-Henry 58, Great Plains Lutheran 25

WATERTOWN — Caylin Kelly and Trinity Watson combined for 33 points as Florence-Henry picked up a road win over Great Plains Lutheran in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Kelly posted a game-high 17 points and scored her 1,000th career point, while Watson added 16 points for the Falcons. Haley Hlavacek, Katelyn Klitzke and Reese Schmidt scored six points apiece. 

Olivia Holmen paced Great Plains Lutheran with eight points. Halle Bauer added five points. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 49, Tri-Valley 44

ELK POINT — Three players scored in double figures as Elk Point-Jefferson earned a win over Tri-Valley in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Kaitlyn Van Roekel paced the Huskies with 18 points, three assists and a steal. Bentlee Kollbaum recorded 11 points and nine rebounds. Cera Schmitz scored 10 points while Courtney Brewer added eight points. 

Lauren Grinde led Tri-Valley with 18 points and seven rebounds. Stephanie Buchmann added 18 points and four rebounds. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 51, Bon Homme 34

LAKE ANDES — Andes Central/Dakota Christian pulled past Bon Homme for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

ACDC’s Allison Muckey recorded 15 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. Mahpiya Irving added 11 points, while Josie Brouwer had eight points. Halle Olson added six blocked shots and three steals. Isabella Brouwer had three assists. 

Bon Homme’s Jurni Vavruska recorded 15 points, while Kenadee Kozak added seven points. Erin Heusinkveld logged eight rebounds. 


Parkston 44, Lennox 39

PARKSTON — Mya Thuringer and Abby Hohn combined for 25 points as Parkston held off a late rally from Lennox to pick up a win in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Thuringer powered the Parkston attack with 13 points, six rebounds and three steals. Abby Hohn added 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Faith Oakley chipped in with seven points and four rebounds. 

Dani Highum paced Lennox with 11 points, five rebounds and a steal. Ryan Hanssen and Andie Peters combined for 16 points, eight rebounds and six steals. 


Garretson 46, Beresford 43

FLANDREAU — Garretson clipped Beresford in the Big East Conference tournament in girls basketball action on Thursday.

Garretson’s Logan Bly finished with 12 points, while Kylie Christensen scored 11 points. Jordyn Williams added eight points. 

Beresford’s Ella Merriman and Harley Koth scored 10 points apiece. Autumn Namminga scored nine points. 


Flandreau 48, Parker 25

FLANDREAU — Flandreau pulled past Parker for a girls basketball win at the Big East Conference tournament on Thursday. 

Claire Sheppard finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Lily Klein added 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Sadie Iott had 10 points and six boards. 

Parker’s Meah Wright scored nine points. 


Omaha Nation 72, Takini 34

HURON — Omaha Nation had three players score in double figures as the Chiefs earned a win over Takini in girls basketball action from the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Tylisha Mccauley led the Omaha Nation attack with 14 points. Latecia Contreras and Sylvia Valentino each scored 11 points in the win. 

Halo Waloke led Takini with 14 points while Aneisha Hayes finished with nine points. 


Lower Brule 81, Crazy Horse 9

HURON — Lael Middletent and Brilyn LaRoche combined for 40 points as the Lower Brule girls picked up a win over Crazy Horse Thursday at the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Middletent poured in 24 points while LaRoche added 16 points for the Sioux. Kaitlyn Thompson and Laila Wells combine for 15 points for Lower Brule. 

Toniah Yellow Elk paced Crazy Horse with five points. 


Marty 52, Flandreau Indian 27

HURON — The Marty girls picked up their second win of the season Thursday with a 52-27 win over Flandreau Indian in the first round of the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Hawk Bair led all scorers with 20 points. Rozario Zephier finished with 10 points while Jayla Bruguier chipped in with eight points. 

Flandreau Indian was paced by Niyah Sierra who scored 10 points. 


Sioux Falls Christian 60, Dakota Valley 48 

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Sioux Falls Christian used a 21-6 second quarter to help secure a girls basketball win over Dakota Valley on Thursday. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Brenna Beyke and Ellie Lems scored 18 points apiece. Peyton Poppema scored 12 points.

Dakota Valley’s Jorja VanDenHul scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Emersen Mead had 10 points, six steals, six rebounds and five assists. 


Harrisburg 36, Brookings 29 

HARRISBURG — Class AA No. 4 Harrisburg held off Brookings to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Harrisburg’s Hannah Eide scored 11 points, while Kayleigh Hybertson added nine points and seven rebounds. 

Brookings’ Logan Smidt scored six points. 


Spearfish 49, Rapid City Central 35

RAPID CITY — A balanced scoring attack helped Spearfish earn a road win over Rapid City Central in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Mya Kochuten had a game high 19 points and seven rebounds to lead Spearfish. Sophie Guthmiller scored nine points while Brylee Grubb added seven points, three assists and a steal. 

Rapid City Central had a pair of double-figure scorers as Aaliyah Jones finished with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists while Leah Landry had 11 points and five rebounds.
