Wagner 51, Corsica-Stickney 38

CORSICA — Class A No. 4 Wagner built a 22-12 first-quarter lead en route to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 2 Corsica-Stickney on Saturday. 

Macy Koupal led Wagner with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Emma Yost added 11 points, six assists and five rebounds. Ashlyn Koupal had nine points and five rebounds. Shalayne Nagel added seven points and seven boards. Eve Zephier scored six points. 

Corsica-Stickney’s Avery Broughton logged 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Rachel Gerlach added nine points and six rebounds. Morgan Clites had eight points, while Casey Tolsma had seven points. Payton DeLange recorded five rebounds and four points. 


Irene-Wakonda 46, Lemmon 28

MADISON — Two players recorded double-doubles for Irene-Wakonda as they defeated Lemmon in a girls basketball game at the DSU Classic on Saturday.

Nora O’Malley recorded 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Madison Orr scored 11 points and 13 rebounds. Katie Knodel added 10 points.

Lemmon’s Allie Kohn scored 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists.


Hill City 59, Elkton-Lake Benton 34

MADISON — Abby Siemonsma’s big game helped lead Hill City past Elkton-Lake Benton in a girls basketball game at the DSU Classic on Saturday.

Siemonsma totaled 22 points, while Maggie Taylor recorded a double-double of 10 points and 16 rebounds. Whitney Edwards added 13 points.

Rachael Krog led the Elks with 14 points, while Kylie Ramlo scored nine points and nine rebounds. 


Freeman 55, St. Francis Indian 19

MADISON — Kate Miller recorded a double-double as Freeman cruised past St. Francis Indian for a girls basketball win at the DSU Classic on Saturday.

Miller finished with 27 points and 15 rebounds, while Ashlin Jacobsen recorded a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.


Canistota 59, Flandreau Indian 13

MADISON — Canistota used a 21-4 first quarter to pull away from Flandreau Indian for a girls basketball win at the DSU Classic on Saturday.

Canistota’s Natalie Becker recorded 16 points and six steals, while Kayla Papendick scored 12 points and seven rebounds. Sydnee Engbrecht added 11 points and five steals.

Flandreau Indian’s Angelique Bell scored seven points.


Mobridge-Pollock 68, Tiospa Zina 23

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock used a 25-4 second quarter to run past Tiospa Zina in a girls basketball game on Saturday.

Mariah Goehring scored 15 points, while Emma Keller and Landyn Henderson each scored 11 points. Henderson also added eight rebounds.

Tiospa Zina’s Kennadee Bissonette recorded eight points, while Jaia Bursheim tallied seven points. Alexia Quinn added six points and Ava German collected six boards.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 55, Aberdeen Central 40

ABERDEEN — Sioux Falls Lincoln had three players score in double-figures as they picked up a girls basketball win over Aberdeen Central on Saturday.

Mariah Sien led the Patriots with 17 points, four rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Adyson Sand tallied 14 points and Alaina Sorensen added 13 points.

Aberdeen Central’s Kiana Mounga recorded a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Kyra Griese added nine points. 


Harrisburg 53, Huron 49 (OT)

HARRISBURG — Harrisburg outlasted Huron in overtime to win a girls basketball game on Saturday.

Harrisburg’s Emilee Boyer scored a game-high 18 points and nine rebounds, while Jaylee Hofer recorded 11 points.

Huron’s Isabella Shreeve tallied 17 points and seven rebounds. Hamtyn Heinz also added 17 points, along with eight rebounds.


Castlewood 66, Deuel 33

CLEAR LAKE — Maddie Horn’s big game helped lead Castlewood to a girls basketball win over Deuel on Saturday.

Horn finished with 29 points, while Mackenzie Everson tallied 19 points and Ella Hunter added nine points.

Deuel’s Harley Hennings scored seven points and five rebounds, while Josie Andersen and  Haley Winter added six points apiece. Winter also added six rebounds.

 

Boys basketball 

Flandreau 70, Sioux Valley 40

SALEM — Flandreau rolled to a boys basketball win over Class A No. 2 Sioux Valley for the Big East Conference championship on Saturday. 

Tash Lunday led Flandreau with 17 points and seven rebounds. Chase LeBrun added 14 points and seven boards. Liam Streitz, Luke Sheppard and Alex Anderson scored 10 points apiece. 

Sioux Valley’s Oliver Vincent finished with 13 points, while Dylen Milton and Hayden Ruesink had six points apiece. Damian Danzeisen scored five points. 


Castlewood 60, Deuel 51

CLEAR LAKE — Castlewood held off Deuel for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Tristan Nielsen scored 15 points and nine rebounds. Carson Kirwan recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Bryon Laue tallied 11 points and 11 rebounds. Lane Tvedt added 11 points.

Deuel’s Cooper Schiernbeck totaled 15 points and six rebounds, while Zane Bingham scored 14 points and seven rebounds. Trey Maaland tallied nine points and Gavin Benck collected eight rebounds.


Ipswich 55, Northwestern 41

IPSWICH — Ipswich picked up a boys basketball win over Northwestern on Saturday.

Ian Beyers led the Tigers with 17 points, while Trevor Beyers tallied 15 points and six assists. Taylor Thorson had 11 points and Ty Kadlec added eight points and seven rebounds.

Northwestern’s Jude Ortmeier scored 15 points and six rebounds, while Quintin Fischbach added seven points.


Mobridge-Pollock 45, Tiospa Zina 44

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock edged Tiospa Zina in a boys basketball contest on Saturday. 

Ashton Pfitzer led the Tigers with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jackson Eisemann added eight points and Thane Beheler scored six points. 

Tiospa Zina’s Juron Adams tossed in a game-high 20 points and added five boards. Reondre Greeley scored six points, while Mike Smith and Devin Long Crow scored five points apiece. 


Aberdeen Central 64, Sioux Falls Lincoln 63

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 4 Aberdeen Central held off Sioux Falls Lincoln for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Alec Voegele scored a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds. AJ Hase tallied 13 points and Sam Rohlfs added 12 points and six rebounds.

The Patriots were led by Saif Shah, who finished with 13 points and four assists. Khalil Cisse had 11 points and seven rebounds, while Elliot Whitney added 10 points and six assists. Cameron Jackson also had 10 points.


Sioux Falls Washington 64, Pierre 44

SIOUX FALLS — Mikele Kambalo tossed in 26 points to power Sioux Falls Washington to a boys basketball win over Class AA No. 3 Pierre on Saturday. 

Kambalo added four 3-pointers and four rebounds. Joe Uttecht logged 11 points and four steals. Tommy Peterson put in nine points and grabbed four rebounds. Zharic Sheppard scored six points and added four rebounds. 

Pierre’s Jackson Edman finished with 15 points, 13 rebounds and four steals. Lincoln Kienholz added nine points and five rebounds. Christian Busch logged six points. 


Harrisburg 67, Huron 53

HARRISBURG — Three players scored in double figures to lead Harrisburg to a boys basketball victory over Huron on Saturday. 

Jacoby Mehrman netted 22 points, while Ethan Determan added 18 points. Drew Walter finished with 10 points. 

Huron’s Max Kranzler scored 22 points and Brandon Decker had 10 points.
