Dimock/Emery Raptors 3, Mitchell Aces 2 (11 innings) 

EMERY — Sam Pischke’s walk-off single lifted Dimock-Emery past the Mitchell Aces in Thursday amateur baseball action. 

In the 11th inning, Jason Schmidt walked and Peyton Nash moved him to second on a single into right field. Pischke then smacked a ground ball into right field, scoring Schmidt for the winning run. 

Nash finished 4-of-6, while Drew Kitchens and Chase Arend had two hits apiece. Pischke had two RBIs, while Schmidt drove in a run. Josh Engquist struck out seven batters, allowed eight hits, one earned run and walked zero batters in nine innings. Kitchens earned the win after throwing two scoreless innings, allowing zero hits and issuing two walks. 

For the Aces, Lincoln Bates finished 3-of-5 and drove in a run. Conor Mattke had two hits and drove in a run. Peyton Mandel, Conor Stange and Hudson Borgan added hits. Mason Herman took the loss, allowing two hits, one earned run, one walk and struck out one batter in 0.1 innings. Mandel started and struck out 11 batters, allowed eight hits, two earned runs and walked six batters.  


Four Corners 7, Winner Demons 5

WINNER — Four Corners scored five runs in the first inning to beat Winner in Pony Hills league action Thursday.

Austin Hand drove in a run on two hits, Brad Hand added a run on one hit, Andrew Coverdale collected two hits and two RBIs, Kris Dozark tallied two hits while Truett Fitch drove in a run on one hit in the win. Jack Van Camp allowed three runs on two hits and nine walks in four innings, striking out nine batters.

For Winner, Ethan Bartels allowed seven runs on 10 hits and three walks in nine innings, striking out 12 batters in 188 pitches. Evan Farner drove in a run on one hit and one walk, Bartels tallied two walks and an RBI while Kayleb Brozik, Casey Heenan and Pierce Nelson each tallied hits in the loss.


Parkston Mudcats 5, Mount Vernon Mustangs 0

PARKSTON — Three Parkston Mudcats combined to shutout Mount Vernon in Sunshine League baseball action on Thursday. 

Jake Weber earned the win after three strikeouts, allowing four hits and one walk in five innings. Braxton Wilhelm and Cullen Verville had two strikeouts apiece, while Wilhelm surrendered one hit. 

Luke Bormann finished with three hits and drove in a run. Verville knocked in two runs, while Jeff Harris, Spencer Freudenthal and Max Scott each had hits. 

For Mount Vernon, Chase Hetland, Spencer Neugebauer, Eric Giblin, Deric Denning and Daniel Laufman each had hits. Denning took the loss, allowing seven hits, four earned runs, six walks and struck out three batters in eight innings. 


Parkston Devil Rays 7, Platte Killer Tomatoes 5

PLATTE — The Devil Rays collected 16 hits as Parkston clipped Platte in Sunshine league action Thursday.

Seth Muth and Nolan Dvorak each rallied three hits, including a double by Dvorak, and an RBI, Carter Sommer drove in a run on two hits, including a double, Tanner Dyk added an RBI on one hit and one walk, Dylan Soulek drove in a run, while Caden Donahue and Landon Sudbeck each recorded three hits, including a double, in the win. Soulek earned the victory on the mound, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks in three innings of relief, striking out four.

For Platte, Dawson Hoffman allowed seven runs on 15 hits and a walk in seven innings, fanning three batters. Hunter Hewitt tallied three hits, including a double and a solo home run, Hayden Kuiper and Preston Nedved each tallied two hits and an RBI, including a triple from Nedved, Hoffman recorded an RBI on one hit and one walk, Grayson Hanson totaled an RBI on one hit while Michael Buitenbos tallied two hits in the loss.


Alexandria Angels 12, Corsica Horned Frogs 2 (7 innings) 

CORSICA — Cole Wenande and Jordan Gau both hammered home runs as Alexandria topped Corsica in seven innings in Sunshine League baseball action on Thursday.

Wenande crushed a three-run homer in the seventh inning, and finished 1-of-3 at the plate and drove in four runs. Gau went 2-for-3 and smacked a two-run homer in the second inning. Jerrod Zens and Landon Ruesink both drove in two runs apiece. Jacob Giles added a double. Jack Gray struck out three batters, allowed two hits, two earned runs and walked two batters in 3.2 innings for the win. 

For Corsica, Teddy Slaba and Gavin Zomer each had hits, while Zomer drove in a run. Tyson Wentland struck out five batters, allowed five hits, 10 earned runs and walked 10 batters in 5.1 innings. 

 

Kimball/White Lake Nationals 8, Burke Bombers 0

BURKE — Ethan Price struck out 14 batters as Kimball/White Lake defeated Burke during Thursday’s Pony Hills league action.

Price threw 6.2 strong innings for the Nationals, allowing just one hit and six walks while fanning 14 batters. Caden Lenz drove in four runs on three hits, including a double, Caleb Crist tallied two hits, a double, a walk, and an RBI, Dylanger Pierson netted an RBI on one hit and one walk while Seth Kirsch rallied an RBI single in the win.

For Burke, JJ Farner allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in five innings pitched, striking out seven batters. Hunter Van Niewen Huyse and Aaron Sundquist each tallied a hit in the loss.


Chamberlain Mallards 3, Wessington Springs Owls 2

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Dakota Munger powered the Chamberlain Mallards to a Pony Hills league victory Thursday.

Munger tossed a complete game on the mound in just 90 pitches, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out eight batters. Munger was just a double shy of the cycle hitting 4-for-4 with a triple and home run, driving in two runs. Sawyer Donovan added two hits while Sandler Wiekamp, Mike Schwartz and Ryan Covelans each tallied hits in the win.

For WS, Parker DeJean tossed 17 strikeouts despite the loss, allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk in a complete game outing. Cade Mohling and Blake Larson each collected two hits while Terrek Butterfield drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Lesterville Broncs 9 Menno MadFrogs 6 

MENNO — Ethan Wishon drove in four runs to power Lesterville to a South Central league victory over Menno Thursday.

Wishon drive in four runs on two doubles and a walk, Michael Drotzmann added two hits, a double, walk, and an RBI, Hunter Martin collected two hits, a double, and an RBI, Derek Quame collected a hit, walk and an RBI while Tyler Edler drove in a run on a walk in the win. Martin earned the victory on the mound allowing three runs on nine hits and three walks in eight innings, striking out four.

For Menno, Dylan Lehr and Connor Merriam each tallied two hits and an RBI, Brayden Sattler collected three hits, two doubles, a walk and an RBI, while Nick Ratzloff and Kellen Sattler each tallied a hit and an RBI, combining for three walks in the loss. Doug Hall took the loss allowing eight runs on nine hits and five walks in six innings pitched, striking out four batters.


Canova Gang 7, Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 3

CANOVA — Jared Miller threw seven shutout innings as Canova took down Madison during Thursday’s amateur baseball action.

Miller struck out nine batters in seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and three walks to earn the win on the mound. Kendall Gassman drove in two runs on one hit while Riley Genzlinger, Jared Miller, Derek Miller and Jack Neises each drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For Madison, JD Kirchner took the loss, allowing five runs on three hits and six walks in five innings, striking out seven. Tyler Tappe drove in two runs for the Broncos in the loss while Logan Albee tallied the only hit for Madison.


Harrisburg Woodies 11, Brandon Belugas 1 (7 innings)

HARRISBURG — Tyler Mitzel struck out 16 batters as the Woodies earned a Sioux Empire league victory Thursday over Brandon.

Mitzel tossed seven innings in the win, allowing one unearned run on three hits and a walk while fanning 16 batters. Jack Sutton drove in two runs on two walks and a hit, Isaac Loosmore drove in a run on one hit and one walk while Will Simmons and Carson Drexler each added one hit. The Woodies drew a combined 14 walks in the win as well.

For Brandon, Daniel Buteyn allowed three runs on two hits and six walks in four innings, while striking out seven batters. Jacob Devine drove in a run on one hit while Cole Frisbie and Buteyn each tallied hits in the loss.


Salem Cubs 14, Dell Rapids Mudcats 3 (7 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Salem pounded 12 hits as the Cubs defeated the Dell Rapids Mudcats in Cornbelt league action Thursday.

Cameron Jones led the Cubs with two hits and three RBIs, Avery Feterl hit a grand slam to score four runs, Jacob Vonberge drove in a pair of runs on a homer and one walk, Cole Cheeseman and Kyle Tuschen each added two hits and an RBI while Bobby Koepsell and Owen Alley each tallied RBIs on one hit, including a double by Alley in the win. Tyler Earls tossed a complete game for the Cubs, allowing three runs on 10 hits and three walks, fanning seven batters in the win.

For the Mudcats, Dusty Haffeman allowed eight runs on six hits and a walk in 0.2 innings to take the loss. Nolan Burchill added three hits and a walk, Carter Gullickson had two hits, a homer, walk and an RBI, Jake Goble had two doubles while Thomas Schuring drove in a run on two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 10, Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks 6

HUMBOLDT — A six-run inning powered Dell Rapids to a Cornbelt league victory over Humboldt/Hartford Thursday.

Zack Puetz powered the PBR offense with three hits, a double, homer and three RBIs, Chris Kropuenske tallied two hits, a homer, walk, and two RBIs, Riley Calhoon added a double, walk, and two RBIs, Weston Hansen collected one RBI, two walks and a hit while Drew Sweeter tallied two hits in the win. Brett Mogen earned the victory on the mound allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks in eight innings, striking out 10 batters.

For the Gamecocks, Carver Hultgren allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in five innings, striking out five. Devon Garry drove in two runs on two hits, including a homer, Joe Hanisch tallied two RBIs on a homer, Walker Hultgren launched a solo homer, while Jonah Rechtenbaugh tallied a triple and a walk in the loss.


Brookings Cubs 6, Milroy (Minn.) Irish 2

MILROY, MINN. — Brookings struck out a combined 15 batters as the Cubs earned a victory over Milroy, Minnesota, during Thursday’s amateur baseball action.

Arlen Peters earned the victory on the mound allowing just one hit and one walk in five innings while striking out 10 batters. Henry Hammrich drove in three runs on two hits, Colin Gibson and Parker Winghart each tallied two hits while Noah Buss and Justin Cofell each tallied an RBI single in the win.


Yankton Lakers 8, Freeman Blacksox 2

YANKTON — Yankton cracked 16 hits as the Lakers defeated Freeman in South Central league action Thursday.

Shugo Kondo and Mitch Gullickson each tallied three hits, a double, and an RBI, Will Rauch and Brett Cooley each drove in a run on two hits, Mac Ryken added two RBIs on two hits while Josh Sheldon had two hits in the win. Dylan Rodgers earned the victory on the mound allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk in six innings, striking out nine batters.

For Freeman, Trey Ortman allowed six runs on 14 hits and a walk in seven innings. Ortman also drove in a run in two hits while Brock Andersen collected an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Tabor Bluebirds 9, Wynot (Neb.) Expos 5

TABOR — Landon Schmidt’s three-RBI night lifted Tabor over Wynot during Thursday’s amateur baseball action.

Schmidt batted 3-for-5 with three RBIs, Hunter Hallock and Easton Mudder each drove in a run on two hits and two walks, Chase Kortan drove in a run on a triple while Sam Caba added two hits and an RBI in the win. Hallock earned the victory on the mound in five innings pitched, allowing one run on four hits and two walks, striking out six.

For Wynot, Landon Wieseler allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks in four innings pitched, striking out four batters. Devin Lammers drove in two runs on three hits while David Schenk drove in two runs on a double in the loss.


Elk Point Colt .45s 6, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 3

LENNOX — Jaxon Hennies collected four hits as Elk Point defeated Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing during Thursday’s State Line league action.

Hennies drove in two runs on four hits, including a double, Wilson Bonet tallied a hit, walk and two RBIs, Hunter Ingwerson added two hits while Keaton Gale drove in a run on a walk in the win. Bonet earned the victory on the mound tossing three shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out four batters.

For LCW, Cody Thomspon took the loss allowing two runs on four hits and two walks in one inning. Peyton Garbers  drove in all three runs on three hits, including two doubles, in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 13, Colman Argali 4

COLMAN — The Wood Ducks pounded out 19 hits as Hartford/Humboldt earned a Cornbelt league victory over Colman Thursday.

Brayden Odegaard batted 4-for-5 with a homer driving in two runs, Seth Kuno tallied three hits, a double and a homer, driving in two runs, Nathan Adrian added two hits and an RBI, Rayce Whiting drove in two runs on a homer, Braden Herr collected two hits and two RBIs, Brodie Herr added two RBIs on one hit while Hunter Den Boer drove in a pair of runs on a double and a walk in the win. Andrew Zimmer and Camden McDonald each tallied two hits in the win as well. Adrian took the victory on the mound allowing one run on seven hits in four innings, striking out one.

For Colman, Corey Roach took the loss allowing 12 runs on 17 hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out 12 batters. Colt Hawkins tallied three hits, a walk, and an RBI, Chase DeWitt tallied three hits while Roach added two hits in the loss.


Sioux Falls Brewers 12, Baltic River Dawgs 2 (8 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls pounded out 11 hits as the Brewers took down Baltic in Sioux Empire league action Thursday.

Andrew Langner led the Brewers with three hits and a walk, Cory Schilling and TJ Miller each tallied two hits, including two doubles for Miller, Alejandro Cortina and Dylan Rippentrop each drove in two runs on one hit and one walk while Drue Soukup and Sam Baier each tallied one hit and one walk in the win. Carson Askdal allowed two runs on five hits in five innings pitched for the Brewers, striking out four.

For Baltic, Matt White allowed five runs on six hits and four walks in five innings pitched. Jackson Boe tallied two hits, one double, while Dalton Garbers drove in two runs on a homer in the loss.


Tea Steam 18, Parker Ringnecks 2 (5 innings)

TEA — Curtis Flint’s walk-off homer pushed the Tea Steam to a mercy rule victory over Parker Thursday in State Line league action.

Flint drove in two runs on two hits, a homer, and a walk, Ben Loos drove in three runs on three hits, a double and a walk, Troy Ljunggren and Michael Buchmann each tallied two hits and three RBIs, Marcus Bolin added two hits and two RBIs while Trey Heckenlaible and Nathan Babb each drove in a run on two hits in the win. Hackenlaible earned the victory on the mound in three shutout innings, allowing just one walk while striking out seven.

For Parker, Justin Bochmer allowed nine runs on eight hits and a walk in four innings pitched. Isaac Beeck and Tyler Baliff each scored in the loss.

 

Plankinton Bankers 16, Colome Chaos 13

COLOME — Plankinton scored 13 runs over the final three innings to clip Colome in Thursday’s Pony Hills league action Thursday.

Keagan Hill drove in five runs on three hits, including two doubles, Cole Pranger and Devin Mehlhaff each tallied two hits and two RBIs, Blaine Bohr drove in a run on three hits and a walk, Drew Gerlach and Kane Knudson tallied an RBI on two hits and a walk, Cain Tobin added three hits and a walk while Teegan Schlimgen had two hits and an RBI in the win. Gerlach earned the victory on the mound, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and three walks in four innings, striking out seven.

For Colome, Kevin Carter allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks in six innings to take the loss, fanning four batters. Carter Brickman drove in four runs on three hits, a double, and a walk, Stratton Morehart and Shea Connot each added two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Joseph Laprath netted four hits and an RBI, Carter Dye collected three hits, Carter netted two hits and a walk while Eli Vobr tallied an RBI on one hit and two RBIs in the loss.
