Vermillion 7, Wagner 0

WAGNER — Hayden Christopherson’s complete game on the mound blanked Wagner as Vermillion earned a Legion baseball victory Friday night.

Christopherson allowed just three hits and two walks in seven innings pitched, while striking out six batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Trey Hansen batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Carter Hansen batted 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBIs. Mikey Roob drove in one run on two hits and a walk, while Connor Peterson, Jack Moskowitz, and Conner Roerig each tallied hits in the win.

For Wagner, Matt Link and Joey Cournoyer each saw time on the mound, Link allowed six hits, four walks, and five runs in four innings while striking out seven, and Cournoyer allowed two hits, three walks, and two runs over the final three frames.

Hunter Loeffler, Link, and Carter Cournoyer each tallied hits in the loss for Wagner.


Alexandria 5, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney 4

MOUNT VERNON — Alexandria scored the go-ahead run in the seventh and held on to defeat Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney in Legion baseball action Friday.

Jett Jager drove in two runs on a double, while Esten Schlimgen batted 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Jayce Slaba and Tyler Sanderson each tallied hits in the win as well.

AJ Wilber earned the victory on the mound, falling one out shy of a complete game, allowing three hits, three walks, and one run, striking out nine.

For MVPCS, Isaiah Olson suffered the loss in 6.2 innings pitched, allowing four hits, three walks, and three runs, striking out nine.

Taite Klumb led the offense batting 2-for-2 with two walks, a double, and an RBI, while Daniel Laufman, Blaine Bohr, and Jim Choc each drove in a run.


Chamberlain 3, Platte/Geddes 1

CHAMBERLAIN — Dakota Munger’s 11 strikeouts lifted Chamberlain over Platte/Geddes in Legion baseball action Friday night.

Munger threw six innings, issuing two hits, two walks, and one run along with 11 strikeouts to earn the victory on the mound for Chamberlain.

Cooper Leiferman and Eli Donavon each drove in one run, while Sawyer Donovan, Conway Collins, Rayden Haak, Sandler Wiekamp, and Brayden Oldenkamp each tallied hits in the win.

For Platte/Geddes, Tanner Dyk took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing six hits, one walk, and three runs while striking out six.

Dyk batted 2-for-3 with a walk, double, and an RBI, while Jye Bailey added a hit and a walk in the loss.


Elk Point/Jefferson 5, Lennox 1

LENNOX — Elk Point/Jefferson’s four-run seventh-inning helped defeat Lennox in Legion baseball action Friday night.

Ethan Bovill led the offense with one hit and two RBIs, while Brody Van Roekel drove in a run on a walk and a double. Landon Johnson, Evan Hailey, Wyatt Herrity, and Ty Trometer each tallied hits in the win as well.

Herrity took the victory on the mound, allowing just three hits, two walks, and one run over six innings, striking out four batters.

For Lennox, Braxton Musser took the loss in a seven-inning effort, allowing six hits, three walks, and five unearned runs, striking out eight.

Ethan Larsen, Emery Lefers, and Sawyer Bowers each tallied hits, with Musser driving in the lone run for Lennox.


Harrisburg 3, Brandon Valley 1

BRANDON — Braxton Kusler’s nine strikeout performance helped lift Harrisburg over Brandon Valley in Legion baseball action Friday night.

Kusler tossed seven innings, allowing one hit, two walks, and one run while striking out nine batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Teigan Munce and Maddux Scherer highlighted the Harrisburg offense with two solo homers, while Jack Riley drove in another run on a double.

Max Carlson, Eli Kokenge, and Carter Gronseth each tallied hits in the win, while Noah Boschee tallied two hits.

For Brandon Valley, Aiden Zerr took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing eight hits, one walk, and three runs while striking out seven.

Bryton Stroh tallied the lone hit of the game for Brandon Valley.


Harrisburg 3, Brandon Valley 2

BRANDON — Max Carlson’s sacrifice-fly in seventh scored the go-ahead run as Harrisburg swept Brandon Valley in a Legion baseball doubleheader Friday night.

Eli Kokenge and Maddux Scherer each drove in one run on one hit for Harrisburg, while Teigan Munce, Noah Boschee, Jack Riley, and Kason Syverson each tallied hits in the win.

Maddox Plack earned the victory on the mound, allowing two hits, four walks, and two runs in five innings pitched, striking out six batters.

For Brandon Valley, Bryton Stroh took the loss in 3.1 innings, allowing five hits, two walks, and two runs, striking out three.

Jackson Adams and Chase Leary tallied the only two hits for BV, with Aiden Zerr driving in a run on a walk.


Parkston 9, Salem/Montrose/Canova 4

PARKSTON — Luke Bormann’s three-hit, three-RBI day helped Parkston defeat Salem/Montrose/Canova in Legion baseball action.

James Deckert drove in two runs on two hits for Parkston as well, while Drew Braley and Kash Neugebauer each added one hit and one RBI. Kolter Kramer and Brayden Jervik combined for five hits, while Maddux Brissette and Kaden Holzbauer each tallied hits in the win.

Carter Sommer earned the victory on the mound for Parkston, allowing seven hits, three walks, and four runs in a complete game, striking out 10 batters.

For SMC, Luke Koepsell took the loss in a five-inning performance, allowing 14 hits, two walks, and nine runs while striking out four.

Lane Deutsch led the team in RBIs with two, while Jackson Remmers added three hits, including two doubles. Koepsell drove in one run on one hit and one walk, while Weston Remmers and Shea Klinkhammer each tallied hits


Rapid City Hardhats 11, Yankton 1 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY — The Hardhats racked up 10 hits in five innings to earn a Legion baseball victory over Yankton Friday afternoon.

Alex Dietrich and Wilson Kieffer led the way with two hits and two RBIs apiece, including a triple by Kieffer.

Aaron Roach and Aiden Roberts drove in two runs on one hit, while Harrison Good and Hayden Holec each tallied one hit and one RBI. Jace Morgan and Philip Bentz each tallied hits in the win as well.

Jadon Moreno earned the victory on the mound, allowing three hits, four walks, and one run in five innings while striking out five.

For Yankton, Sean Turner took the loss allowing 10 hits, five walks, and 11 runs in four innings.

Kaden Hughes drove in one run on one hit, while Mark Kathol and Matthew Sheldon each tallied hits in the loss.


Rapid City Hardhats 5, Yankton 4 (8 innings)

RAPID CITY — Aiden Roberts walk-off single lifted Rapid City over Yankton in extra innings Friday night.

Alex Dietrich and Tate Crosswait paced the Rapid City offense with two hits and one RBI apiece, including each tallying a double. Jace Morgan drove in one run on a double, while Hayden Holec drove in a run on two walks.

Ryan Neugebauer took the victory on the mound, allowing two hits, three walks, and one run over two innings of relief.

For Yankton, Matthew Sheldon led the offense with three hits, including two doubles, a walk, and two RBIs. Lucas Kampshoff batted 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk, while Easton Feser and Samuel Gokie each drove in one run on one hit.

Feser took the loss in his relief outing, allowing two hits, two walks, and one run in 0.1 innings pitched.


Brookings 5, Bismarck (ND.) 4

FARGO — Brookings scored two in the top of the seventh to stun Bismarck in Legion baseball action Friday night.

Addison Ronning led the offense, driving in two runs on one hit, while Zack Struck drove in a run on a double and a walk. Breck Hirrschoff, Owen Schneider, Tane Friedrich, and Sam Johnson each tallied hits in the win.

Austin Clark earned the victory on the mound, allowing nine hits, one walk, and four runs in seven innings pitched, striking out three batters.

For Bismarck, Aiden Johnson took the loss in 4.1 innings, allowing four hits, two walks, and two runs, while striking out five.

Gavin Lill, Isaac Mitchell, and Jace Groseclose each tallied hits in the loss, with Lill and Eli Thompson driving in runs.


Dell Rapids 13, Volga 5

VOLGA — Dell Rapids erupted for nine runs in sixth to defeat Volga in Legion baseball Friday night.

Talan Millage led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, while Sutton Williams, Treyse Eastman, and Will Zwach each drove in two runs on two hits. CJ Smith batted 2-for-4 with a walk, and Cooper Frost drove in a run on one hit as well.

Four pitchers combined for the win, but Drake Eastman saw the most action at 3.2 innings, allowing two hits, four walks, and two runs, striking out six.

For Volga, Christopher Moberg saw the most time on the mound at 3.1 innings, allowing eight hits, two walks, and seven runs.

Jace Christensen drove in two runs on a double and two walks, Tate Steffensen batted 2-for-5 with an RBI, while Moberg, Jack Opitz, and Ethan Axtell each tallied hits in the loss.


Groton 19, Milbank 11

GROTON — Bradin Althoff’s five-RBI day lifted Groton over Milbank in Legion baseball action Friday night.

Althoff batted 2-for-5 with a double and triple to go with five runs driven in. Braxton Imrie batted 4-for-5 with three RBIs, Carter Simon batted 2-for-4 with a walk, double, and three RBIs, Teylor Diegel drove in two runs on two hits, while Brevin Fliehs and Gavin Englund each drove in two runs on one hit and one walk.

Colby Dunker batted 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI and Dillon Abeln racked up three hits and two walks in the win as well.

Imrie earned the victory on the mound for Groton, allowing just two walks over two innings of relief.

For Milbank, Dillon Scheeley and Reece Rabe drove in four runs a piece, with each tallying one double. Mason Meister, Joe Schulte, and Tanner Hallquist each drove in one run on one hit, while Josh Pederson tallied a hit in the loss.

Schulte took the loss on the  mound in 5.1 innings, allowing 15 hits, six walks, and 15 runs, striking out four.


Groton 10, Milbank 0 (4 innings)

GROTON — Carter Simon’s 42-pitch perfect game helped Groton blank Milbank in Legion baseball action Friday night.

Simon also threw two strikeouts in the win.

Bradin Althoff led the offense with two hits and an RBI, while Kellen Antonsen drove in two runs on one hit. Nick Groeblinghoff and Gavin Englund each tallied RBI-singles, while C Dunker, Dillon Abeln, and Nick Morris each drove in a run.

For Milbank, J Pederson took the loss in 2.2 innings, allowing two hits, four walks, and five runs, striking out three.


Yankton 11, Box Elder 4

BOX ELDER — Lucas Kampshoff’s four-RBI day helped lift Yankton over Box Elder in Game 1 of a Legion baseball double header Thursday night.

Kampshoff batted 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run to go along with four RBIs. Easton Feser batted 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBIs, Samuel Gokie batted 2-for-4 with a homer that scored two runs, and Tate Beste added one hit and one RBI as well.

Owen Wishon earned the victory on the mound, allowing eight hits and three runs in five innings, striking out five.

For Box Elder, Ian Beer took the loss in three innings pitched, allowing four hits, four walks, and four runs.

Mason Brooks led the offense with three hits and one RBI, while Beer drove in a run on two hits as well. Colten Morlang batted 2-for-2 with a walk and two-run homer in the loss.


Yankton 13, Box Elder 11

BOX ELDER — A six-run sixth inning helped Yankton sweep Box Elder in a Legion baseball doubleheader Thursday night.

Mark Kathol highlighted the Yankton offense with a homer that scored three runs, while Tate Beste and Lucas Kampshoff each drove in two runs on a combined five hits. Samuel Gokie and Evan Serck each plated a run on one hit, while Austin Gobel tallied a hit as well.

Beste recorded just two outs on the mound but earned the victory for Yankton, allowing three hits and a run.

For Box Elder, Spencer Johannesen took the loss in two innings pitched, allowing four hits, four walks, and seven runs.

Ian Beer paced the Box Elder offense with three hits and two RBIs, while Paxton Fisher drove in two runs on two hits and a walk. Mason Brooks and Brody Thompson each tallied two hits and an RBI, while Ethan Wilson and Teagan Smith each drove in one run on one hit.


Dell Rapids 10, Sioux Falls Post 911 3 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Dell Rapids jumped out to a nine-run lead in the first three innings to defeat Post 911 in Legion action Thursday night.

Brandon Schmidt led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, while Lincoln Fersdahl drove in two runs on a home run and a walk. Treyse Eastman and Will Zwach both tallied hits and an RBI in the win, while Drake Eastman tallied two hits, including a double.

Cole Reusink earned the victory on the mound in 3.1 innings, allowing one hit and five walks, including three runs while striking out two.

For Post 911, Jackson McCaulley took the loss in 3.2 innings, surrendering eight hits, three walks, and eight runs, while fanning five batters.

Hayden Gorsett, Zach VanderHaar, and Parker VanHorssen each tallied an RBI in the loss.


Dell Rapids 8, Sioux Falls Post 911 1 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Lincoln Fersdahl’s 12 strikeouts helped Dell Rapids defeat Sioux Falls Post 911 in Legion baseball Thursday.

Fersdahl threw six innings, allowing five hits, four walks, and one run while striking out 12 to earn the victory on the mound.

CJ Smith led the offense with two hits, including a double, scoring two runs, while Treyse Eastman added two hits and an RBI. Sutton Williams drove in a run on one hit, while Tad Tjaden, Cole Reusink, and Talan Millage each tallied hits in the win.

For Sioux Falls Post 911, Paul Hoekman took the loss in five innings pitched, allowing seven hits and six runs, striking  out 10 batters.

Tate Connell drove in the only run for Sioux Falls on one hit, while Jais Kooima tallied two hits.
