Former Miller/Highmore-Harrold standout Karst Hunter made his first game playing for Colorado Mesa a memorable one. 

The 6-foot-4, 215 redshirt freshman QB threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns as Colorado Mesa defeated Jewell College 40-3. Hunter scrambled seven times for 65 yards on the ground. 

Jewell kicked a field-goal to start the game before Colorado Mesa ripped off 40 consecutive points. 

The Mavericks have a week off before they play New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas.
