BRANDON — No. 12 seed Mitchell shocked No. 5 Brandon Valley and earned a Class AA girls basketball tournament berth on Friday.

Mitchell’s Sawyer Stoebner finished with 24 points, while Addie Siemsen added 19 points and hit five 3-pointers. 

Sioux Falls Washington 53, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 40

SIOUX FALLS — Brooklyn Harpe and Grace Peterson combined for 37 points as Sioux Falls Washington earned a girls basketball win over Sioux Falls Roosevelt Friday. 

Harpe led the Warriors with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Peterson pumped in 17 points, five rebounds and four steals. 

Katie Spicer led Roosevelt with 16 points, five rebounds and three steals. Morgan Johnson added ten points and 11 rebounds. 

Harrisburg 35, Spearfish 30

HARRISBURG — A balanced scoring attack helped Harrisburg punch their ticket to the AA girls state tournament with a win over Spearfish Friday. 

Kayleigh Hybertson led Harrisburg with nine points and eight rebounds. Abby Flanagan added nine points for the Tigers. 

Mya Kochuten led Spearfish with 15 points. 

Rapid City Stevens 62, Huron 48

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures as Rapid City Stevens advanced to the Class AA state tournament with a girls basketball win over Huron. 

Izzy Higgins paced the Raiders with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Macey Wathen added 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals while Hailey Oswald chipped in with 10 points.

Hamtyn Heinz led Huron with 19 points. Heavan Gainey added 11 points and eight rebounds while Isabelle Ellwien added 10 points for the Tigers.
