March 5 Class A Girls Basketball Roundup - Lakota Tech pulls past Rapid City Christian, qualifies for state tournament

Lakota Tech 72, Rapid City Christian 59

WALL — Four players scored in double figures to power Lakota Tech to a SoDak 16 girls basketball win on Thursday. Lakota Tech will play in the Class A state girls basketball tournament on March 12-14 in Watertown. 

Lakota Tech’s Lizzie Robinson finished with 23 points and Bella Shangreaux had 18 points. Amelia Shangreaux posted 14 points and Kate Robinson scored 11 points. Addy Goings scored six points.

For Rapid City Christian, Sadie Marshall scored 22 points. Brynn Casey added 14 points and Nora Kieffer had 12 points. 


Lennox 62, Miller 33

MADISON — A balanced scoring attack powered No. 5 Lennox to a SoDak 16 win over No. 12 Miller on Thursday. Lennox will play in the Class A state girls basketball tournament on March 12-14 in Watertown. 

Bergan Musser led the Orioles with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, Andie Peters added 12 points, two assists and two steals, Adie McVey recorded nine points, Karlie Bosma had six points and four steals while Libby Kranz and Olivia Niederbaumer each had five points in the win.

For Miller, Kate Lichty had 15 points and three rebounds while Paige Werdel scored 13 points with four rebounds and four steals in the loss.


Sioux Falls Christian 55, Groton Area 25

MADISON — Three players scored in double figures as Sioux Falls Christian topped Groton Area for a SoDak 16 girls basketball win Thursday. The Chargers will play in the Class A girls basketball tournament on March 12-14 in Watertown.

Aubrie VanBeek led the Chargers with 17 points, Lezlei Setzer added 13 points and seven rebounds, Ruth Dvoracek collected 11 points and two assists while Makinli Reitsma had five points and five boards in the win.

For GA, Jerica Locke had 11 points and six rebounds while Rylee Dunker scored five points in the loss.


Wagner 46, Dell Rapids 31

IRENE — Ashlyn Koupal paced Wagner to a SoDak 16 girls basketball win on Thursday. Wagner will play in the Class A girls basketball tournament on March 12-14 in Watertown. 

Koupal finished with 23 points, 20 rebounds, eight blocked shots and three steals. Hannah Holzbauer had nine points, three rebounds and three steals. Ravyn Medricky totaled seven points and eight boards. 

For Dell Rapids, Rorie Thoreson scored 21 points and added six rebounds. Elin Schoenhard scored five points and had eight boards.

 

Sioux Valley 49, St. Thomas More 29

CHAMBERLAIN --- A balanced scoring attack powered Sioux Valley over St. Thomas More for a SoDak 16 girls basketball win Thursday. The Cossacks will play in the Class A girls basketball tournament on March 12-14 in Watertown. 

Amari Ward led SV with 11 points, three rebounds and three asissts, Talya Vincent, Liberty Trygstad and Kailey Cradduck each had eight points, including 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals from Cradduck while Masey Top recorded eight points and four boards in the win.

For STM, Leighton Scherr led with 10 points and three rebounds while Rachael Hyde added nine boards in the loss.
