St. Thomas More 54, Lead-Deadwood 37

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to power St. Thomas More to a Region 8A boys basketball win on Friday. STM will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

STM’s Wyatt Gylten scored 17 points and Ashton Paulsen added 12 points. Baron Slusarski had 10 points and Broeden Sales scored nine points. 

For Lead-Deadwood, Canon Rogers scored 15 points and Elias Taylor scored six points. Enzo Stone added five points.  


Pine Ridge 72, Winner 67 (OT)

PINE RIDGE — Pine Ridge outlasted Winner in Region 7A boys basketball action on Friday. Pine Ridge will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Pine Ridge’s Marvin Richard III finished with 40 points and hit four 3-pointers. Talton Hawk added 14 points, while Donnie Ghost Dog had 11 points and three 3-pointers. 

For Winner, Jalen Tideman finished with 21 points and four 3-pointers. Sam Steele added 20 points and six 3-pointers. Cooper Craven scored 17 points. 


Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 46, Mobridge-Pollock 30

EAGLE BUTTE — Cheyenne-Eagle Butte pulled away from Mobridge-Pollock for a Region 6A boys basketball win on Friday. CEB will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

CEB’s Damien Clown finished with 14 points. Nehemiah Veaux and Nicholas Woods II recorded eight points apiece. Levi Elk Nation had six points. 

For Mobridge-Pollock, Kale Knudson had nine points and Shooter Frederick had six points. 


Dupree 72, Harding County 53

DUPREE — Four players scored in double figures to power Dupree to a Region 8B boys basketball win on Friday. Dupree will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Dupree’s Jayden Marshall finished with 24 points, while Tre White Wolf and Cruz Birkeland had 13 points apiece. Dayson Kennedy had 10 points. 

For Harding County, Ryder Hunsucker scored 16 points and hit three 3-pointers. Hayden Phil and Cohen Smith had 14 points apiece. Casey Lindholm had seven points. 


Lennox 53, Vermillion 49

LENNOX — Aiden Hanssen and Tate Gerdes each dropped an 18-point double-double as Lennox outlasted Vermillion in Region 4A boys basketball action Friday. The Orioles will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Hanssen had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Gerdes added 18 points and 13 boards in the win.

For Vermillion, Trey Hansen tallied 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Spencer Blanchette added 13 points while Luke Jensen netted 12 points in the loss.


Groton Area 61, Milbank 35

GROTON — Three players scored in double figures as Groton Area defeated Milbank for a Region 1A boys basketball win Friday. The Tigers will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Keegen Tracy led GA with 15 points, Gage Sippel added 12 points and six rebounds, Karson Kak had 13 points and four rebounds while Ryder Johnson tallied six points and five boards in the win.

For Milbank, Ryan Keeton scored 12 points, Jeter Scoular added seven points while Lincoln Holscher dropped five points in the loss.

 

Clark/Willow Lake 93, Elkton-Lake Benton 35

CLARK — Five players scored in double figures to power Clark/Willow Lake to a Region 2A boys basketball win on Friday.

CWL’s Sully Felberg finished with 30 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Bo Begeman added 22 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Chris Bevers totaled 19 points and three assists. Jakob Steen added 10 points and five assists. Will Hovde added 11 points.

For ELB, Joseph Nibbe had 16 points. Myles Poindexter added five points.


Sully Buttes 56, Faulkton Area 44

ONIDA — Wesley Wittler’s 29-point burst powered Sully Buttes over Faulkton Area in Region 6B boys basketball action Friday. The Chargers will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Wittler powered the Chargers with 29 points in the win.

FA’s stats were not reported.


Hamlin 67, Sioux Valley 44

HAYTI — Jackson Wadsworth and Boden Stevenson powered Hamlin to a Region 2A boys basketball win on Friday. Hamlin will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Wadsworth finished with 24 points and four 3-pointers. Stevenson added 23 points and four 3-pointers. Aiden Abraham added seven points and Trig Heinrich scored six points. Jack Stormo scored five points.

For SV, Carter Sapp scored 15 points. Brady Hiltunen added eight points and Holdyn Ruesink scored five points.


Leola/Frederick Area 66, Waubay/Summit 56

FREDERICK — Three players scored in double figures to guide Leola/Frederick Area over Waubay/Summit for a Region 1B boys basketball win Friday. The Titans will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Winston Clark led LFA with 20 points, Westyn Thorpe netted 18 points, Milo Sumption added 15 points while Lucas Gulbranson poured in eight points as well.

For WS, Jace Wohlleber led with 22 points, McKoy Pereboom poured in 12 points, Hogan Hlavacek added seven points while Teegan Gaikowski scored five points in the loss.


Flandreau 45, Baltic 41

FLANDREAU — Three players scored in double figures as Flandreau clipped Baltic for a Region 3A boys basketball win Friday. The Fliers will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Alexavier Poitra led the Fliers with 17 points, Xavier Bien had 16 points and four steals while Luke Sheppard totaled 10 points and eight rebounds in the win.

For Baltic, Kellen Artz had nine points while Cooper Garry added eight points in the loss.


Ipswich 61, Gettysburg 59

IPSWICH — Josh Rausch’s buzzer-beater lifted Ipswich past Gettysburg for a Region 6B boys basketball win Friday. The Tigers will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Hayden Schlosser finished with a game-high 23 points and five rebounds, Shay Knust added 14 points, four rebounds and four assists, Rausch netted 10 points and seven rebounds, Jaxon Holt recorded six points and eight rebounds while Brody Davis collected five points in the win.

For Gettysburg, Jensen Zweber led with 17 points, Jerand Chase added 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals, Joseph Stanley added nine points and four rebounds, Mason Goebel collected seven points and four rebounds while Jack Simon netted six points, five rebounds and three steals in the loss.


McCook Central/Montrose 35, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 29

SALEM — McCook Central/Montrose clipped Mount Vernon/Plankinton for a Region 5A boys basketball win Friday. The Fighting Cougars will play in the SoDak 16 on March 10.

Andrew Sabers led MCM with 12 points, Owen Schmidt added eight points, Dawson Dorr collected eight points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks while Ben Wiebersick added five assists and two steals in the win.

For MVP, Tyce Feistner tallied 14 points, Cole Sandland had five points while Riley Mayer and Derrick Fletcher each scored four points in the loss.
