March 6 Class A Girls Basketball Roundup - Sioux Falls Christian secures trip to state tourney with SoDak 16 victory

Sioux Falls Christian 60, Rapid City Christian 44

CHAMBERLAIN — Avery Reitz’s 15-point game powered Class A No. 2 Sioux Falls Christian to the State A girls basketball tournament.

Reitz netted 15 points in the win, Maya Nelson recorded 10 points, Ruth Dvoracek had nine points while Emory Lems collected seven points in the win.

RCC’s Lydia Williams had a game-high 18 points in the loss while Sadie Marshall collected eight points as well.

 

Mobridge-Pollock 49, St. Thomas More 48

FAITH --- Charley Henderson's layup with 10 seconds left lifted Mobridge-Pollock to the Class A girls basketball tournament on Thursday.

Henderson finished with 15 points and three 3-pointers. Blake Thompson added 10 points, while Brooke Bain scored nine points. Tegan Konold had seven points and Faith Heil scored six points.

For STM, Sloane Keszler finished with 15 points and three 3-pointers. Leighton Scherr scored 12 points and Rachael Hyde had eight points. 


Mahpiya Luta 62, Flandreau 27 

MURDO — Class A No. 1 Mahpiya Luta secured a spot in a Class A girls basketball tournament on Thursday. 

Mahpiya Luta’s Ashlan Carlow-Blount logged 19 points. Mya Mills finished with 14 points and hit four 3-pointers. Dorthie Mesteth had 10 points. Jodene Big Crow-Hunter recorded eight points and Abby Haas scored five points. 

Flandreau’s Morgan Sheppard finished with 10 points and Rhegan Sheppard scored five points. 


Wagner 66, Lakota Tech 58

WINNER — Ashlyn Koupal dropped 38 points as Wagner secured a spot in the State A girls basketball tournament Thursday.

Koupal finished with 38 points, 19 rebounds and five blocks in the win., Lydia Yost had added 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Ravyn Medricky had nine points in the win.

LT’s Shania Ferguson had 14 points, Peyton Knife collected 10 points, Isabella Shangreaux tallied nine points, Layla Janis had eight points while Kate Robinson netted seven points in the loss.


Sioux Valley 60, Miller 34

MADISON — Four players reached double figures as Sioux Valley earned a trip to the State A girls basketball tournament with a win over Miller on Thursday. 

Keyra Kruse powered Sioux Valley with 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Talya Vincent had 15 points while Kailey Cradduck added 13 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Amari Ward chipped in with 10 points for Sioux Valley. 

Morgan Kolda led Miller with nine points and three rebounds. Katy Lichty and Paiger Werdel each had five points.
