Madison/Chester 4, Groton Area 3

MADISON — JD Prorok struck out nine batters and crushed a homer as Madison/Chester clipped Groton Area in North Super Regional action on Wednesday. Madison/Chester will play in the Class B state baseball tournament on May 25-26 in Brookings.

Prorok took the win on the mound in four shutout innings, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out nine. Prorok added a two-run homer in the win as well.

Quincy Kurtz hit a solo homer for the Bulldogs while Tregg McGillivray added an RBI on a walk in the win as well.

For GA, Jarrett Erdmann took the loss in six innings of work, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks, striking out five.

Lincoln Krause hit a solo homer to drive in a run in the loss for the Tigers.


Madison/Chester 3, Elkton-Lake Benton 2

MADISON — Braylon Oftedal’s walk-off single lifted Madison/Chester over Elkton-Lake Benton in North Super Regional baseball action on Wednesday.

Oftedal drove in two runs in his final at-bat to plate the go-ahead and winning runs while JD Prorok had a double in the win.

Prorok earned the win on the mound in two shutout innings, allowing just one walk while striking out three.

For ELB, Colt Beck took the loss in 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks, striking out seven in the loss.

Eliot Erickson drove in a run on a hit and a walk, Aiden Melcher added an RBI on one hit while Beck recorded two hits in the loss.


Groton Area 3, Sioux Valley 2

MADISON — Case Reints’ walk-off single lifted Groton Area over Sioux Valley in North Super Regional baseball action on Wednesday.

Reints drove in the go-ahead and winning runs to give the Tigers the win while Lincoln Krause and Alex Abeln each had a hit, including a triple by Krause in the win.

Gavin Englund took the win on the mound in seven strong innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks, striking out three.

For SV, Damon Uecker surrendered the loss in 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks, striking out seven.

Bret Milton had three hits and an RBI while Uecker collected two hits and an RBI in the loss.


Winner/Colome 18, Belle Fourche 8 (5 innings)

WINNER — Camdyn Anderson and Carter McKenzie drove in nine combined runs as Winner/Colome defeated Belle Fourche in West Super Regional action on Wednesday. Winner/Colome will play in the Class B state baseball tournament on May 25-26 in Brookings.

Anderson batted 4-for-4 with five RBIs for the Royals while McKenzie added four RBIs on three hits, a triple and a walk in the win. Cooper Craven had three RBIs on three hits, one double, Masen Beehler tallied two RBIs on two hits, Adryan Brandis and Zac Olson each had an RBI on one hit while Carter Foster had an RBI on two walks in the win.

McKenzie took the win on the mound in two innings of work, allowing six runs on six hits and four walks, striking out three in the win.

For BF, Tate Thomsen allowed nine runs on eight hits and five walks in 3.1 innings, striking out five.

Raif Parmeter had two hits and an RBI, Caeyn Howard added three hits, Trig Thomsen totaled two RBIs on one hit while Tate Thomsen and Urijah Hamilton each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Winner/Colome 16, Hot Springs 6 (5 innings)

WINNER — Winner/Colome recorded 10 hits en route to a West Super Regional win on Wednesday.

Carter McKenzie, Zac Olson, Camdyn Anderson and Adryan Brandis had two hits apiece. Quincy Phillips smacked a three-run homer, while Olson, Anderson and Brandis knocked in two runs apiece. Anderson earned the win, allowing four hits, six earned runs, seven walks and struck out four batters in 4.2 innings.

For Hot Springs, Nikolas Cruz, Brock Schroeder, Jeremiah Melton and York Naze each had hits. Melton drove in four runs, while Naze had two RBIs. Jaydon Koffler took the loss, allowing seven hits, six earned runs, four walks and struck out five batters in four innings. 


Belle Fourche 7, Gregory County 1

WINNER — Caeyn Howard struck out nine batters as Belle Fourche picked up a West Super Regional win on Wednesday.

Howard allowed five hits, three walks and zero earned runs in the complete-game performance. Howard also drove in two runs at the plate. Raif Parameter and Urijah Hamilton had two hits and drove in a run apiece. Daven Kracht drove in two runs.

For Gregory County, Eli Ekroth and Landon Keiser had hits apiece. Colt Keiser took the loss, allowing five hits, three earned runs, five walks and struck out four batters in five innings. 


 Clark Area 6, Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster 2

SISSETON — Clark Area jumped out to a six-run lead to beat Sisseton/Britton-Hecla/Webster in North Super Regional action on Wednesday.

Jakob Steen batted 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Damian Severson added three RBIs while Caleb Drenth collected two hits and a walk in the win.

Watson Grantham earned the win on the mound in 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and four walks, striking out five.

For SBHW, Ben Suther allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings, striking out three.

Rylan Anderson had an RBI in the loss for the Mallards.


Sisseton/Britton/Webster 8, Redfield Area 0

SISSETON — Rylan Anderson struck out eight batters as Sisseton/Britton/Webster defeated Redfield Area in North Super Regional action on Wednesday.

Anderson allowed two hits, zero earned runs and walked two batters in five innings. Carter Stickland finished 3-for-4 at the plate, while Levi Nelson drove in two runs. Max Dahlen, Anderson, Dylan Redler, Mitchell Burger and LJ Crooks each drove in runs. 

For Redfield Area, Jackson Rude, Davey Bixler, Zach Bonin and Hudson Binger had hits. Chace Odland took the loss, allowing five hits, five earned runs, zero walks and struck out six batters in 4.1 innings.  


Clark Area 5, Milbank 4

SISSETON — Charlie Luvaas struck out eight batters as Clark Area defeated Milbank in North Super Region action on Wednesday. 

Luvaas allowed three hits, one earned run and walked three batters in six innings. Caleb Drenth finished with two hits and drove in a run. Jakob Steen drove in three runs. Jax Tharaldsen recorded two hits and drove in a run.

For Milbank, Kaleb Lindstrom finished 3-for-3. Zack Karges had two hits and drove in a run. Bennett Hunt knocked in two runs. Aiden Kelly took the loss, allowing seven hits, one earned run, one walk and struck out two batters in seven innings.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 6, Rapid City Christian 1

PLATTE — Keaton Christensen tossed seven strong innings as Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake cruised past Rapid City Christian in West Super Regional action Wednesday. PGDCWL will play in the Class B state baseball tournament on May 25-26 in Brookings.

Christensen allowed one run on seven hits in seven innings, striking out two in the win.

Isaac Leader had two RBIs on two hits, Maddux VanZee and Jye Bailey each recorded two hits while Christensen and Hayes DeVries both totaled two RBIs on one hit in the win.

For RCC, Sam Tordsen allowed six runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings, striking out two.

Patrick Pfannenstein had two hits while Tordsen recorded an RBI-double in the loss.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 14, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 7

PLATTE — A nine-run fifth-inning surged Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake to a West Super Regional win over Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman on Wednesday.

Keaton Christensen led the Honkers with four RBIs on two hits, one triple, Jameson Leader had a three-RBI-triple, Kenyon Kuiper added two RBIs on two hits, including a triple, Isaac Leader had an RBI on a hit and two walks, Bohde Kuiper totaled an RBI-single, Asher Kott had a walk and an RBI while Maddux VanZee and Hayes DeVries each tallied two hits in the win.

Bohde Kuiper took the win on the mound in 1.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks, striking out two in the win.

For CKL, Kruse Brennan allowed six runs on four hits and five walks in 4.1 innings in the loss.

Hunter Frederick had two RBIs on two hits, Jeric Klegas recorded two hits and an RBI, Conway Collins added an RBI-single while Johnny Lenz and Vincent Lenz each had two hits in the loss.


Rapid City Christian 10, St. Thomas More 4

PLATTE — Rapid City Christian scored nine unanswered runs to roll past St. Thomas More for a West Super Regional win on Wednesday.

Turner Tonkel had three hits and an RBI for the Comets, Sam Tordsen added three RBIs on a triple, Jackson Winter and Joe Samuelson each totaled two hits and an RBI while Owen Boorman had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Vander Von Eye took the win on the mound in 6.2 innings, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks, striking out six.

For STM, Rush Turner allowed eight runs on seven hits and three walks in two innings, striking out four.

Ben Bowers had two hits and two RBIs, Joe Giacametto tallied an RBI on a double and a walk while Isaiah Quasney totaled an RBI in the loss.
