PHILIP — The Philip cross-country teams swept Wednesday’s Western Great Plains Conference titles.

The Philip boys finished with six points, while Wall (29) and Kadoka Area (35) rounded out the top-three teams. The Philip girls posted 15 points, edging out Wall (16) and Jones County (16) for the team title. 

Individually, Philip’s Trey Larson won the 5,000-meter race in 17 minutes and :20.00 seconds at Lake Waggoner Golf Course. Philip’s Wakely Burns (17:26.34) and Tukker Boe (17:53.03) finished second and third, respectively. Philip’s Asher Peterson (18:01.98) and Bennett County’s Tyce Gropper (18:03.29) rounded out the top-five runners.

On the girls side, Jones County’s Jolie Dugan won the 5,000-meter race in 21:06.70. Philip’s Presley Terkildsen (21:50.87) and Wall’s Taylee Dartt (22:23.42) finished second and third, respectively. Jones County’s BreAna Aske (22:41.61) and Philip’s Drew Terkildsen (22:45.91) rounded out the top five.
