Another Zabel is headed to Fargo.

Pierre High School senior-to-be Jett Zabel has committed to play football at FCS powerhouse North Dakota State University. Zabel tweeted his intentions to be a Bison on Thursday.

Zabel’s older brother, Grey, is an offensive lineman at NDSU. Zabel’s oldest brother, Peyton, is a pitcher at Division I Texas State University.

A 6-foot-4, 210-pound all-state tight end, Jett Zabel turned down a host of FBS offers to play for the Bison. Zabel also received scholarship offers from FBS programs Pittsburgh, Army, Coastal Carolina, Western Michigan, Alabama Birmingham, Memphis, Wyoming and Ball State. He’s a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com.

Last season, Zabel proved to be a reliable target for Ohio State University bound quarterback Lincoln Kienholz in Pierre’s dynamic offensive attack. He posted 842 receiving yards on a team-high 54 receptions and hauled in a team-high 13 touchdown receptions.

“On top of being a very reliable and hard to tackle receiving threat he's also a great blocker,” Pierre coach Steve Steele said about Zabel. “He is one of the toughest kids we have had and is never afraid to stick his nose in there and in general loves the physicality side of football.”
