McCook Central/Montrose 20, Flandreau 13

SALEM — McCook Central/Montrose outlasted Flandreau for a Big East Conference high school football win on Friday.

McCook Central/Montrose’s Owen Schmidt hauled in a 40-yard touchdown reception from Ben Wiebersick, giving MCM a 14-7 lead. Schmidt also scored two rushing touchdowns. 

For Flandreau, Paul Parsley connected with Micah Otto for a 21-yard touchdown strike. Parsley also threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Ben Ballard. 


Burke 38, Scotland-Menno 22

BURKE — Gentry Bartling and Kaleb Schonebaum combined for more than 300 yards rushing and five touchdowns as Burke picked up a Friday high school football win. 

Bartling rushed for 204 yards on 22 carries and scored four rushing touchdowns. Schonebaum added 119 yards rushing on 17 carries and a touchdown. Elijah Bartling completed 7-for-10 passes for 119 yards and a passing touchdown to Gentry Bartling. Schonebaum posted seven tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Jayden Schonebaum had an interception, while Moxon Fox had seven tackles and a fumble recovery.

Scotland-Menno’s Trent Guthmiller rushed for 128 yards on 18 carries. Izayah Ulmer logged eight carries for 108 yards and a touchdown. Ulmer completed 3-for-10 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Bryce Sattler hauled in two catches for 76 yards and a receiving touchdown. Sattler added an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Tate Plooster logged 11 tackles. 


Winner 30, Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 18

WINNER — Class 11B No. 1 Winner rushed past Class 11B No. 5 Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central in Friday high school football action. The Warriors rushed for 343 yards in the win. 

Winner’s Karson Keiser rushed for 119 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns. Breven Bolander finished with 101 yards rushing on eight carries. Eli Vobr added a 22-yard touchdown run. Zac Olson added 64 yards rushing on 12 carries. 

For WWSSC, Holden Havlik finished 22-of-35 for 296 yards passing and two touchdowns, while rushing seven times for 28 yards. Ryder Michalek hauled in 12 catches for 130 yards and one touchdown. Colby Flowers added five catches for 123 yards and one touchdown. Hayes Havlik added a rushing touchdown. Nathan Gaikowski, Grant Edwards posted six tackles and Karter Mebius added five tackles and an interception.


Kimball/White Lake 26, Bon Homme 0

KIMBALL — Iden Myers scored three rushing touchdowns and Kimball/White Lake pitched a shutout in Friday high school football action.

Myers rushed for 244 yards on 22 carries and scored three touchdowns. Park Sinclair added a passing touchdown. Lucas Lenz had two receptions for 33 yards and caught a touchdown. Myers posted 10 tackles on defense, while Carter Konechne added eight tackles. Ashton Krumvieda added a sack. 

Bon Hommes stats were unavailable. 


Harding County/Bison 46, Lemmon-McIntosh 14

BUFFALO — Rylee Veal powered Class 9A No. 5 Harding County/Bison to a Little Moreau Conference football win on Friday.

Veal finished with 22 carries for 280 yards and scored five rushing touchdowns. Nayati Bickerdyke rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Pihl added 73 yards rushing and a touchdown. Pihl also passed for 60 yards. Bickerdyke hauled in 57 yards receiving. Lincoln Wickstrom posted 13 tackles, Kyle Stadler had an interception and Veal had two sacks.

For Lemmon-McIntosh, Blair Ham rushed for 119 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown. Brady Mollman rushed for 60 yards and Nathan Penfield threw for 97 yards. Penfield added 32 yards rushing and a touchdown. Mollman and Arlus Yalowizer hauled in 37 yards receiving. Ham added seven tackles and Jaxon Dirk had a sack. 

 

Avon 72, Colome 6

COLOME — Class 9B No. 1 Avon rolled past Colome for a Friday high school football win. The Pirates rushed for 377 yards. 

Aziah Meyer finished with three rushing touchdowns and rushed for 110 yards. Pierce Jonkers added two rushing scores. Brenson Ratzlaff, Grayson Ratzlaff, Trent Soukup and Devin Rucktaeschel each had rushing touchdowns. 

For Colome, Harley Sprik tossed a 55-yard touchdown pass to Jonah Musser. 

 

Timber Lake 38, Herreid/Selby Area 14

ABERDEEN — Cole Ducheneaux scored five total touchdowns as Timber Lake pulled away from Herreid/Selby Area for a Friday high school football win.

Ducheneaux scored two rushing touchdowns, while he threw two touchdown passes to Gavin Farlee and one to Edward Keller. 

For HSA, Jared Weisbeck completed 5-of-14 passes for 81 yards and threw a touchdown to Adonnais Mills. Porter Gregg rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries. Weisbeck added 26 yards rushing. Mills hauled in four catches for 78 yards. Gregg had eight tackles. Hauge, Mills and Dayton VanWell had sacks.


Howard 32, Canistota 0

CANISTOTA — Class 9A No. 1 Howard blanked Class 9B No. 5 Canistota in a Cornbelt Conference high school football game on Friday. The Tigers rushed for 305 yards on 41 carries

Howard’s Tate Miller finished with 112 yards rushing on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns. Kolt Becker added 68 yards rushing on nine carries, while Weston Remmers rushed for 63 yards on nine carries and had a rushing score. Owen Feldhaus and Carson Hinker added rushing touchdowns. Hinker passed for 48 yards and Garrett Feldhaus had 20 yards receiving. Luke Koepsell posted seven tackles, while Becker and Miller both had interceptions.

For Canistota, Blaise Showers rushed for 18 yards and passed for 86 yards. Easton Miller hauled in four catches for 56 yards receiving. Prayden Acheson and Miller had 8.5 tackles apiece. Brady Scott posted eight tackles. Carter Becker had an interception. 

 

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 20, Wagner 6

BRIDGEWATER — Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan pulled away from Wagner for a Friday high school football win. 

BEE’s Macklen Weber rushed for a pair of rushing touchdowns. Jason Zeeb added a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown. 

Wagner’s Shea Kjeldgaard hauled in an 18-yard touchdown reception from Carlos Galindo. 


Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 42, Alcester-Hudson 0

FREEMAN — Riley Tschetter paced Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy to a Friday high school football win over Alcester-Hudson.

Tschetter passed for 397 yards and four touchdown passes. Karter Weber hauled in four passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Christopher Aasen and Keaton Preheim hauled in touchdown passes. Dominic Sperling rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown. Sawyer Wipf had 12 tackles and Tate Sorensen added 10 tackles. Alaric Knittel had two sacks.

For AH, Tommy Walth had 116 rushing yards. Jose Topete-Lopez added 58 rushing yards. 


Gregory 44, Stanley County 16

FORT PIERRE — Gregory surged past Stanley County for a Friday high school football win.

Lincoln Juracek tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Colt Keiser, while Rane Kenzy also hauled in a touchdown catch. Cruz Klundt added a pick-six. 

Stanley County’s Paxton Deal tossed a passing touchdown to Brendon Bothwell, while Deal also rushed for a score. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 46, Centerville 44

DELL RAPIDS — Class 9B No. 2 Dell Rapids St. Mary outlasted Centerville in a high-scoring nine-man football game on Friday. The teams 926 total yards, 463 yards apiece. 

Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Lincoln LeBrun rushed for 276 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns. Jake Kopsas added 35 rushing yards and a touchdown. Kade Lutt added a rushing touchdown. Trimmier Hanson had six carries for 39 rushing yards and had 78 passing yards. Jaxon Baumberger hauled in 58 yards receiving. The Cardinals rushed for 385 yards. Keaton Hansen posted 11.5 tackles and one sack. Baumberger added an interception. 

Centerville finished with 374 passing yards.

 

Leola-Frederick Area 42, Faulkton Area 20 

LEOLA — Gavin Nickelson rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns as Leola-Frederick Area picked up a Friday high school football win over Class 9B No. 4 Faulkton Area. Nickelson added 15 tackles on defense. 

Westyn Thorpe returned a kick 80 yards for a score and also contributed 10 tackles for the Titans.

Faulkton Area’s Gian DiMaria passed for 226 yards and a touchdown. Tristen Baloun rushed for two touchdowns.

 

Groton Area 14, Deuel 9

GROTON — Ryder Johnson and Christian Ehresmann hooked up on scoring passes to power Groton Area to a Friday high school football win. 

Johnson completed 8-of-12 passes for 60 yards and Korbin Kucker ran 23 times for 112 yards. Ehresmann added 10 tackles including two quarterback sacks, Brevin Fliehs seven tackles and Tucker Hardy six tackles.

Deuel scored on a 29-yard field goal by Sean Kurmann and on a 3-yard pass from Aiden Sievers to Troy Jenson. Sievers completed 11-of-18 passes for 90 yards. Gavin Kloos rushed for 35 yards on 11 carries and Gabe Sather hauled in seven passes for 76. Gavin Maaland recorded nine tackles and Carson Marko and Reed VanWormer eight each.


Hamlin 64, Florence-Henry 8

HAYTI — Zac VanMeeteren hauled in two touchdown passes and scored on two blocked punt returns as Class 9AA No. 2 Hamlin picked up a Friday high school football win. 

VanMeeteren hauled in touchdown passes of 34 and 22 yards from Jackson Wadsworth. Wadsworth also connected with Evan Stormo on an 84-yard scoring pass. Boden Stevenson added a one-yard touchdown run and also tossed a 22-yard TD pass to Jaden Olsen. Mason Trowbridge scored two rushing touchdowns. 

Wadsworth was 5-for-5 passing for 199 yards and Stevenson 6-for-6 for 58 yards. Stormo caught three passes for 143 yards. Dawon Noem finished with three tackles.

Florence-Henry scored on a 29-yard pass from Dawson Lantgen to Karter Kohlenberg. Lantgen passed for 76 yards, Kohlenberg caught four passes for 52 yards and James Kahnke rushed for 48 yards and logged five tackles.


Castlewood 52, Wilmot 0

CASTLEWOOD — Camron Eng rushed for 270 yards as Castlewood picked up a Friday high school football win over Wilmot. 

Eng carried the ball 18 times and scored four touchdowns. Kamden Keszler hauled in a 30-yard touchdown catch from Brody Bass. Keszler added a 20-yard touchdown run. Trevor Everson had a 30-yard touchdown run. Paul Everson posted five tackles, while Bryon Laue added five tackles.

For Wilmot, Keitrick Genia rushed for 17 yards.  


Rapid City Christian 46, Chamberlain 6

RAPID CITY — Simon Kieffer powered Rapid City Christian to a Friday high school football win over Chamberlain. 

Kieffer completed 14-for-24 passes for 256 yards and threw three touchdowns. He added four carries for 49 yards and another score. Wes Schlabach hauled in six catches for 112 yards and two touchdown receptions, while he rushed for two touchdowns. Benson Kieffer had two catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. Benson Kieffer drilled a 32-yard field goal. 

Defensively, Schlabach had 13 tackles, Braylon Marshall had 10 tackles, Malachi Maseman had 10 tackles, and Caleb Mantei had two sacks.


Sunshine Bible Academy 6, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0

IROQUOIS — Sunshine Bible Academy scored a fourth quarter to slip past Iroquois/Lake Preston in Friday night football action. 

Carter Crump led Sunshine Bible Academy rushing for 25 yards and six tackles. Jacob Hadden hauled in three passes for 30 yards. Jerome Big Eagle led the defense with five tackles and a sack. 

Brycen Blue led the Sharks with 27 rushing yards while catching two passes for 31 yards. Ben Curd finished with 25 rushing yards and finished with two sacks on defense. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 61, Great Plains Lutheran 8

ELKTON — Class 9AA No. 3 Elkton-Lake Benton celebrated homecoming with a win over Great Plains Lutheran in high school football action Friday. 

Colt Beck led the Elks rushing for 118 yards on five carries and scoring three touchdowns. Beck also tossed two touchdown passes, one to Eliot Erickson and the other to Tanner Drietz. Joseph Nibbe led the defense with four tackles and an interception with the entire defense holding Great Plains Lutheran to -3 yards rushing. 

Brody Scharlemann led Great Plains Lutheran passing for 77 yards and a touchdown. Micah Holien caught two passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. 


Sioux Valley 56, Sisseton 12

VOLGA — A big night from Wyatt Hardt helped Class 11B No. 2 Sioux Valley roll over Sisseton in Friday football action. 

Hardt finished with three touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown, along with 84 rushing yards. Mitchell Guthmiller, Maverick Nelson and Brody Haaland combined for three receptions and 168 yards. Bryce Christopherson finished with five carries for 81 yards for the Cossacks. 

Holden Hawkins led Sisseton with 14 rushes for 78 yards. Caden Gibson finished with 65 yards rushing to go along with 170 yards passing. Hayden Hellwig led the Sisseton aerial attack with five receptions for 150 yards. 


Dell Rapids 42, Milbank 7

MILBANK — Class 11A No. 5 Dell Rapids racked up 383 total yards in a Friday high school football win over Milbank. The Quarriers rushed for 279 yards. 

Dell Rapids’ Cooper Frost completed 5-for-10 passes for 104 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. Cole Ruesink added 173 rushing yards on six carries and scored a touchdown. Tad Tjaden hauled in three catches for 66 yards and caught a touchdown. Ruesink had two interceptions on defense and Ryan Stubbe had four tackles.

For Milbank, Braylen Bowsher passed for 45 yards. Bennett Hunt had seven tackles. Milbank finished with 56 total yards. 


Tea Area 58, Douglas 3

TEA — After giving up an early field goal the Tea Area Titans reeled off 58 straight points to pick up a win over Douglas in Friday high school football action. 

Leading Tea Area was Cole McKinney who had six carries, 119 yards and two touchdowns and one passing touchdown. Carter Brown added 86 yards and a touchdown while Mitch Grant totalled 32 yards and two touchdowns. Sam Werdel rushed for 54 yards and led Tea Area with seven tackles. 

Casen Tibbetts led Douglas with 45 rushing yards and one catch for 36 yards. Shane Howie led the Douglas defense with four unassisted tackles.


Madison 28, Vermillion 7

MADISON — Madison scored 21 third-quarter points on its way to a win over Vermillion in Friday night football action. 

Ben Brooks rushed for 34 yards and a rushing touchdown while catching nine passes for 85 and two scores. Brooks also threw a 19-yards pass to Jordan Pederson. Cohen Hahn finished 17-of-22 through the air with two touchdown passes. The Bulldog defense produces four interceptions, two of them by Shane Veenhof. 

Ryne Chapman led Vermillion rushing for 52 yards on 10 carries. Hayden Christopherson tossed a touchdown pass to Landon Cerny for the Tanagers only score. 


Clark/Willow Lake 36, Parker 0

PARKER — Clark/Willow Lake used a strong running game to earn a win over Parker in Friday night football action. 

Emmerson Larson led the Cyclones rushing for 87 yards with two touchdowns. Griffin Musser finished with nine rushes for 52 yards and a score with Ernesto Garcia adding another score on the ground. Larson led the defense with a pick six with a pick six and also had 80 yards passing. 

Michael Even led the Parker defense with nine tackles on defense and 25 rushing yards. Benson Jones added 20 rushing yards with Myles Meyer contributing five tackles on defense.
