Sioux Falls Christian girls, Lennox boys take top spots in Class A standings after Day 2 of state track

SIOUX FALLS — The Sioux Falls Christian girls keep the top spot while Lennox surpasses the Sioux Falls Christian boys in team standings after the second day of the South Dakota state track and field meet.

The Sioux Falls Christian girls maintain a strong lead with 76 points, ahead of Dakota Valley (47) and Custer (38). Lennox boys hold a tight lead with 46 points, ahead of Sioux Falls Christian (45.5) and Hill City (37).

Alexis McEntee took home fourth place in the girls pole vault (10-09) for the Chargers to add five points. McKenzie Blowers tallied six points by finishing third in the triple jump event (36-00.5). Ellie Maddox (2:16.07), Sadie Pettengill (2:16.70) and Anna Vyn (2:17.15) took home third, fourth, and fifth in the 800-meter run respectively combining for 15 points while Jerica Glasser broke a meet record in the girls 3,200-meter run (10:33.08) to add 10 points for the Chargers. Maddox took second in the 3,200-meter run (10:33.67) while Pettengill added a fourth place finish (10:55.40) combining for 13 more points for SFC.

For Lennox, Tate Gerdes added six points with a third place finish in the triple jump (42-03.75). Cloy McVey added nine points from two races on Friday, finishing third in the 800-meter run (1:58.04) and sixth in the 3,200-meter race (9:53). Noah Sayler collected three points with his sixth place finish in the 800-meter run (1:59.56) as well.
