The South Dakota High School Coaches Association has released its winter coach of the year recipients.

The 2026 winter SDHSCA coach of the year recipients:

Boys Basketball – Tim Buddenhagen –Huron

Girls Basketball – Matthew Rama – Mahpiya Luta

Boys Wrestling – Mike Abell – Sturgis

Girls Wrestling – Joel Martin – Spearfish

Gymnastics – Sherri Johnson – Estelline

The awards banquet will take place on Sunday July 19, 2026 at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center 800 Burr Street.
