RAPID CITY — Sturgis earned back-to-back Class A state wrestling championships on Saturday at the Monument Arena. 

The Scoopers totaled 198 points, finishing ahead of second-place Aberdeen Central (146.5) and third-place Rapid City Stevens (141). 

Tyler Baldwin (113 pounds) and Kelson Dirk (190) were the two individual state champs for the Scoopers. 

Aberdeen Central did not have an individual state champion, but 157-pounder Mason Schrempp placed second in his weight class. 

Huron’s Moses Gross (150) won the third title of his career Saturday with a technical fall of Vermillion’s Michael Roob. Gross won titles as a freshman, junior and senior. 

After finishing second in each of the last two Class A finals at 285 Watertown’s Micah Hach raised his hand in victory Saturday. Hach pinned Tea Area’s Chase DeBoer in the first period the delighted the crowd at the Monument by performing the splits on the center of the mat.
