RAPID CITY — Four Sturgis athletes reached the finals of the Class A state tournament and the Scoopers have the lead after day two of the state tournament in Rapid City. 

Sturgis has 174.5 points, ahead of Aberdeen Central (136.5) and Rapid City Stevens (126.5). Watertown (126.5) and Harrisburg (121.5) round out the top five teams. 

Tyler Baldwin (113), Mason Hagen (120), Joseph Nadig (165) and Kelson Dirk (190) all reached the finals for the Scoopers. 

Aberdeen Central has nine athletes in the placing rounds but only Mason Schrempp (157) reached Saturday’s finals. 

Rapid City Stevens had a strong Friday and Aiden Callahan (138), Jacob Williams (157) and Ayden Kellogg (215) all reached the individual finals.
