Team Deal sweeps Team Boyle at 2024 Great Plains all-star games

WHITE RIVER — Team Deal swept Team Boyle at the Great Plains Senior All-Star Basketball Games on Wednesday. The girls and boys basketball teams were coached by KPLO’s Darren Boyle and 605 Sports’ Ryan Deal.

In the girls game, Team Deal defeated Team Boyle 79-55. In the boys contest, Team Deal recorded a 137-125 over Team Boyle. Team Deal drilled 22 3-pointers. 

In the boys game, Faith’s Jackson Schauer was named team MVP and poured in a game-high 35 points and hit nine 3-pointers. White River’s Evastine Wright logged 18 points and four 3-pointers. Faulkton Area’s Layne Cotton scored 18 points. White River’s Ray Crow added 16 points and four 3-pointers. Pine Ridge’s Kanye Hollow Horn and Jones County’s Cooper Feddersen logged 13 points apiece. Philip’s Lane Kuchenbecker scored 10 points. Crazy Horse’s Richard Pumpkin Seed and White River’s Tristen Bear Heels scored eight and six points, respectively. 

For Team Boyle, White River’s Nic Marshall was team MVP and logged 33 points. White River’s Jordan Uhlir scored 26 points, while Spearfish’s Seth Hamilton and Canistota’s Tage Ortman had 19 points apiece. Jones County’s Kaden Kinsley scored 10 points, while Highmore-Harrold’s Trake Cowan had nine points. Viborg-Hurley’s Bryson Morrison and Philip’s Layton Terkildsen scored five and four points, respectively. 

Hollow Horn won the dunk contest and Ortman won the boys 3-point contest. 


In the girls team, Pierre’s Reese Terwilliger was team MVP and scored 19 points for Team Deal. Wall’s Rhea Tucker had 13 points, while White River’s Kam Krogman scored 11 points. White River’s Chaela O’Leary posted 10 points, while Wall’s Paige Kjerstad had nine points. McLaughlin’s Kimimila White Mountain and Mahpiya Luta’s Kennedy Fridia scored six points apiece. Jones County’s Sophie Dowling had five points.

For Team Boyle, Bennett County’s Amia Cottier was team MVP and logged 14 points. Pierre’s Ryann Barry had nine points, while Highmore-Harrold’s Kendall Cermak had eight points. Lyman’s McKenzie Lavendure and McLaughlin’s Taylor Scares The Hawk scored six points apiece. Wall’s Nora Dinger had seven points. Little Wound’s Addison Young added four points. 

Dinger won the girls 3-point contest.
