Class A teams were spread out all over South Dakota last weekend but three really good teams went at it at Saturday’s Yankton Invitational. 

Rapid City Stevens won that tournament with 209.5 points followed by Tea Area (190.5) who ousted Pierre (179.5) for second place. 

Tea Area is one of the most improved Class A teams this season and are ranked as the No. 7 team by Dakota Grappler in this week’s rankings. Sturgis leads the poll again this week with 180 points followed by Brandon Valley (149). 

After that the team rankings show a bunch of squads in contention for hardware from the state meet. 

Pierre with 124 points is followed by Rapid City Stevens for third and fourth in this week’s team polls. Watertown (107), Aberdeen Central (104) and Tea Area (103) are all within mere points of one another. 

Keep an eye on Tea Area senior Austin Eimers (144). Eimers missed most of the season but is now  15-1 and climbing the rankings in his weight class every week. 

A couple of new No. 1’s this week as Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Bentley Williams is top ranked (132) and Sturgis’ Bentley Williams is now ranked No. 1 at 144.
