Sturgis High School’s Zhoel Irion continued to hold down the No. 1 spot in the Class A wrestling rankings, according to Dakota Grappler.

The junior has compiled a 25-2 record this season, including the 215-pound title at the Mid-Dakota Monster on Jan. 10 in Presho. Irion pinned Canton’s Chase Adam, who is ranked No. 3 in Class B, at the 3:05 mark in the title match. 

Irion finished fourth last season in the Class A 175-pound division. 

The Scoopers currently lead the Class A rankings with 238 points. Watertown (150) and Brandon Valley (148) are second and third, respectively.
