The West River Tournament for boys and girls basketball is Jan. 11, 13-15.

The 31st annual girls tournament started Jan. 11, while the 40th annual boys event starts Jan. 13. Tuesday’s girls games were in Newell and Hot Springs, with Friday’s action continuing at those sites before shifting to Monument Ice Arena in Rapid City on Saturday. 

In Tuesday’s girls games, Faith defeated Moorcroft, Wyoming, Upton, Wyoming, defeated Newell, Edgemont defeated Oelrichs and Wall defeated Hot Springs, via forfeit. 

Thursday and Friday’s boys games will be held in Newell and Hot Springs, with Saturday’s games also shifting to Monument Ice Arena in Rapid City. On Thursday in Newell, Faith plays Moorcroft and Upton plays Newell. In Hot Springs, New Underwood plays Edgemont and Hot Springs plays Wall.
