HURON — Aberdeen Central’s Sam Rohlfs leaped into the state record books on Friday.

The multi-sport athlete captured four individual titles at the Huron Invitational, including a state-record 24-feet and 3/4 inch leap in the long jump. Rohlfs also claimed first-place finishes in the 100 (:10.94), 200 (:22.65) and triple jump (45-09.50).

Aberdeen Central’s Aiden Heimann was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.62) and 300-meter hurdles (:41.80). Aberdeen Central’s Josh Martin won the mile run (4:29.20) and placed second in the 800-meter run (2:07.48). 

On the girls side, Northwestern’s Jessica Boekelheide won the 100-meter dash (:12.84) and 200-meter dash (:27.25). Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide won the mile run in 5:43.65, while she placed second in the 800-meter run in 2:32.89.
