WATERTOWN — Aberdeen Central’s Taryn Hermansen recorded the third best shot put throw in state history on Friday.

The Golden Eagle won the shot put at the Watoma Relays, finishing with a throw of 48-feet and 11-inches. Hermansen’s throw is second only to Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth, who has the top-two marks in state history (52-6.75, 51-1.5). 

Aberdeen Central’s Mya Arampatzis won the 100-meter hurdles (:14.84) and finished third in the 300-meter hurdles (:49.88). Teammate Espynn Kuhfeld won the 300-meter hurdles (:47.76). 

Watertown’s Alayna Smith won the 100-meter dash (:12.30) and 200-meter dash (:25.67). Smith, Carighan Klatt, Anna Hirtz and Ashlynn Andrews won the 400-meter relay (:49.12). Smith, Hensley Hogue, Hirtz and Brooke Grajczyk won the 800-meter relay (1:45.25). 

Klatt won the long jump (16-5.5) and teammate Shauna Evenson won the triple jump (34-9). 

Brookings’ Kaylie Kuehl won the 800-meter run (2:26.35). Kuehl, Kalla Foerster, Rykr Billings and Jordyn Johnson won the 3,200-meter relay (10:15.18). Brookings’ Kennedy Ronning won the pole vault (11-6). 

CWL’s Kamryn Nesheim won the 1,600-meter run (5:22.12). Nesheim, Emma Bochek, Jennifer Bevers and Cadence Bochek won the 1,600-meter relay (4:06.36). Nesheim, Johanna Vandersnick, Madison Brenden and Bochek won the sprint medley (4:19.07). CWL’s Ella Sass won the javelin (104-8). 

Watertown’s Grace Elroy won the 3,200-meter run (11:28.60). Watertown’s Malia Kranz won the discus (144-2) and placed third in the shot put (35-11). Mayla McGhee won the high jump (5-2) for the Arrows. 

Milbank’s Zayda Townsend won the 400-meter dash (1:02.05). 

On the boys side, Aberdeen Central’s Karson Borge won the 100-meter dash (:11.49) and 200-meter dash (:23.51). Aberdeen Central’s Tate DeVries won the 3,200-meter run (9:43.43). 

Kyson Fayant won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.09) and 300-meter hurdles (:38.53) for the Golden Eagles. Fayant, Caden Forred, Carter Lust and Austin Ryan won the 800-meter relay (1:30.51). 

Forred, Lust, Maddox Dinger and Esten Foss won the sprint medley relay (3:46.99). 

Brookings’ Jack Griggs won the 400-meter dash (:52.61). Brookings’ Dylan Haar won the 1,600-meter run (4:34.80). Haar, Marco Springman, Garrett Ysbrand and Shane Harming won the 3,200-meter relay (8:28.85). Brookings’ Bergan Tetzlaff won the javelin (162-11). 

Deuel’s Gavin Kloos, Brock Johnson, Axel Gallardo and Chris Gallardo won the 400-meter relay (:45.52). Hamlin’s Gavin Maag, Jonathan Leonardi, Trig Heinrich and Rylan Thue won the 1,600-meter relay (3:37.49). 

Clark/Willow Lake’s Michael Severson won the shot put (51-5). 

Watertown’s Dane Stark claimed first place in the 800-meter run (1:58.02). 

Lucas Johnson won the high jump (6-4) for Great Plains Lutheran. 

Milbank’s Ethan Seyer won the long jump (20-2) and placed second in the triple jump (39-10.75). 

Watertown’s Carter Clark won the triple jump (40-6.75).
