Harding County/Bison 64, New Underwood 12

NEW UNDERWOOD — Class 9A No. 3 Harding County/Bison racked up 551 total yards en route to a season-opening win over New Underwood on Thursday. The Ranchers rushed for 272 yards and passed for 279 yards. 

Kelby Hett racked up 279 passing yards and threw five touchdowns. He threw two touchdown receptions to Braden Routier, while also throwing touchdown strikes to Keegan Hett, Gage Gilbert and Evan Meyer. Keegan Hett recorded a team-high 95 receiving yards. Rylee Veal rushed for 187 yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns. Cade Costello added a rushing score. Defensively, Brennan Glines recorded six tackles and a sack. 

New Underwood’s Cole Knuppe passed for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Jaxon Fulton and Cash Albers hauled in touchdown receptions, while Fulton had a team-high 57 receiving yards. Kale Crowser had five tackles and Fulton added an interception. New Underwood finished with 93 total yards. 


Wall 50, Bennett County 0

WALL — Class 9AA No. 2 Wall tallied 322 yards of total offense as it raced past Bennett County for a high school football win on Thursday.

Cedar Amiotte ran for 70 yards and three touchdowns on five carries. He also returned an interception and a fumble recovery for touchdowns. Levi Sharp had a 10 yard touchdown run. Sharp and Brodi Sundall each led with 28 receiving yards. Burk Blasius threw for 62 yards on four completions. Jace Blasius and Rylan McDonnell also added one interception each. 

Bennett County’s Tyce Gropper rushed for 30 yards on eight carries. Defensively, Dante Rascher had eight tackles, while Talon Krolikowski tallied 7.5 tackles. Bennett County was held to eight total yards. 

Elkton-Lake Benton 55, Colman-Egan 14

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton cruised past Colman-Egan for a season-opening win on Thursday.

Ryan Krog led the Elks with 153 yards passing and three touchdowns. Krog also rushed for 117 yards on eight carries and one touchdown. Riddick Westley rushed 11 times for 111 yards and one touchdown, while Colt Beck added 76 yards rushing and one touchdown. Tanner Stein led with four receptions for 94 yards and three touchdowns. Blake DeVries led the defense with 6.5 tackles, while Taiton Boersma added a sack.

Colman-Egan’s Easton Williamson threw for 56 yards and rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown. Hayden Pearson also rushed for a touchdown. Logan Voelker led with 35 yards receiving.
