BELLE FOURCHE — Hosting their own invitational, the Belle Fourche track teams had impressive showings at Lou Graslie Field. 

Bronc junior Sawyer Clarkson broke his own school record in the 1,600 meter run (4:25.47) while Aiden Giffin won the long jump (21-06.25) while running a leg on the winning 800-meter relay team. 

In other boys results Dupree’s Jessup Pederson earned four medals in the 100, 200, 400 and 800-meter events. Pederson captured gold in the 400-meter dash (:54.38).

Other South Dakota winners were Douglas’s Peyton Cast in the 3,200 meter run (10:16.08), Hot Springs’ Warren Russel in the 300-meter hurdles (:42.73), Lead-Deadwood in the sprint medley relay (3:49.10). Douglas’ Andrew Divis won the high jump (5-10) while Rapid City Christian’s Chase Maher won the pole vault (13-06)

For the girls Belle Fourche’s Dru Keegan won the 100-meter dash (:13.23) The Broncs also won titles in the 400-meter relay (:52.09) with Mataya Ward winning the triple jump (34-02). 

Hot Springs’ Jaylen Nachtigall was a double-winner claiming the long jump (15-04.25) and the 100-meter hurdles (:17.16). The Bison also won the 1,600 meter relay (4:32.27)

Lead-Deadwood had a strong day on the track with Hallie Person winning the 1,600 meter run (5:36.42). The 800-meter relay team claimed a title (1:55.23) while the sprint medley team also finished first (4:36.5)
