CENTERVILLE — The Chester boys and Colman-Egan girls captured track and field titles at Monday’s Lounsbery Early Bird meet. 

Chester sophomore Jovi Wolf looked to be in mid-season form as he captured the 200 meters (:21.9) and the long jump with a leap of 19-1. A pair of other Chester athletes also had good days. Stratton Eppard won the 400 meters (:54.0) and the discus (127-7) while Ryan Benson won the 110 hurdles (15.1), 300 hurdles (:41.3) and high-jump (5-10). Those three along with Alex Van Egdom won the 4x100 meter relay with an automatic state qualifying time of 44.3. 

Estelline/Hendricks junior Jon Nefzger won the shot put (48-4), finished 3rd in the discus (118-0) and won the javelin (131-6)

The defending Class B girls team champions Colman-Egan opened its outdoor season with a number of good performances both on the track and in the field. Junior Daniela Lee captured the 100 meters (:12.6), 200 meters (:26.9). Mackenzie Hemmer was 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles (:16.6) won the 300 hurdles (:51.1) and captured the triple jump (34-4). The quartet of Lee, Hemmer, Brynlee Landis and Reese Luze captured the 4x200 relay (1:52.7).

Scotland’s Delanie VanDriel won the shot-put with a throw of 37-4.5
