Hanson 49, Florence/Henry 45

MADISON — A balanced team scoring effort helped Hanson hold off Florence/Henry to earn a berth in next week’s Class A state tournament. 

Taziah Hawkins led Hanson with 17 points and added three rebounds and a steal. Eliza Oltmanns also reached double-figures with 11 points and four rebounds. Kylie Haiar added nine points and four rebounds while Cadence Jarding chipped in with eight points and two assists. 

Caylin Kelly led Florence/Henry with 25 points, nine rebounds, an assist and a steal. Haley Hlavacek added six points and four rebounds while Taylor Watson chipped in with five points.


Tea Area 62, Mobridge-Pollock 37

HURON — Four players reached double-figures as the Tea Area girls ran past Mobridge-Pollock to clinch their first-ever Class A state tournament berth. 

Mara Grant powered the Titans with 22 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Katie Vasecka was great on both ends of the floor scoring 18 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.  Haidyn West put up 10 points and three assists and Ellie Clayberg chipped in with 10 points and five assists. 

Charley Henderson led Mobridge-Pollock with 11 points. Tegan Konold added 10 points, two assists and a steal. Faith Heil had seven points and five rebounds and Heidi Olson had six points and nine rebounds. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 46, Aberdeen Roncalli 40

HURON — Emilee Fox’s big night powered the Mount Vernon/Plankinton girls past Aberdeen Roncalli to earn a trip to next week’s Class A state tournament.

Fox hit six 3-pointers and finished with 28 points,11 rebounds and three steals. Reagan Rus added 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal. Kyia Schmidt chipped in with six points. 

McKenna O’Keefe led Aberdeen Roncalli with 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Maddie Huber and Claire Crawford each scored eight points for Aberdeen Roncalli. 


Vermillion 60, Winner 30

MENNO — Three players reached double figures as Vermillion ran past Winner to clinch a berth in next week’s Class A state tournament. 

Chandler Cleveland led Vermillion with 19 points and five steals. Taylor Reuvers added fourteen points while Brooklyn Voss finished with 10 points and five steals. 

Adyson Pravecek and Ava Craven both scored seven points for Winner. Lilly Barfuss and Karlee Brozik finished with four and three points for the Warriors.
