With the Howard Wood Dakota Relays coming up (May 6-7) look for the Sioux Falls Christian girls to do some damage in the 3,200 meter relay. The Chargers have the fastest time in Class A this spring (9:46.16) by 16 seconds. Eighth-grader Ellie Maddox has the fastest 800-meter run in Class A (2:20.58). Teammate Anna Vyn has the fifth fastest 800 meter time of (2:24.34). Vyn has the No. 2 time in the Class A 400-meter run (:59.45).

Custer's Ramsey Karim has the top time in the 3,200-meter run (11:26.98) and the second time in the 1,600-meter run (5:23.31). Teammate Kadense Dooley has the fourth-best time in the 1,600-meter run (5:29.38).

Field event fans will want to keep track of the girls shot put and discus. Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth and Custer’s Kellyn Kortemeyer have the top two shot put efforts of all time in South Dakota. Both are currently flirting with the 150-foot barrier in the discus.

Defending Class A champion in the high jump, Ashlyn Koupal of Wagner has the best jump in Class A with 5-03. West Central’s Lilly Sidel had the best effort in the long jump (17-05). The 2019 state champion in the triple jump, Ellie Brozik of Winner has the top leap in Class A with a mark of 35-10.5.
