One of the more interesting performances in Class AA track and field came from Spearfish 7th-grader Reese Nida. At a meet on April 22, Nida cleared 10-00 in the girls pole vault. Her previous best was 9-03 and her most recent effort moved her to No. 2 in this week’s top-ten behind only Bethany Dybdahl of Brandon Valley who has vaulted 10-6.

One of the top performances in Class AA came on April 21 as Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Alea Hardie ran a 4:53.11 in the 1,600 meter run. That is the No. 2 time in South Dakota history.
