Editor's Note: Each week 605 Sports will release the top-10 performers for track & field for all events and all classes. The information used for these lists comes from the top performers list provided on sdhsaa.com. 

One of the Class B boys to keep an eye on at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays this weekend is Freeman Academy/Marion’s Thalen Schroeder. The senior made several moves this week in multiple events. 

400-meter dash: :52.57 (unranked to No. 2 time in Class B)

High-jump: 6-04 (Ranked last week, now No. 3 in Class B, multi-inch improvement). 

Other Class B rankings:

800-meter run: No. 4, 2:08.59.

Freeman Academy/Marion has the top Class B times in the 3,200 meter relay (8:45.90) and the top time in the sprint medley relay (3:47.69). 

A little shakeup in the Class B, 1,600 meter run rankings. Canistota’s Josiah Schroeder has the new top time in Class B (4:44.14). Miller sophomore Alex Schmacher moves up to No. 2 (4:44.64) while James Valley Christian’s Daniel Ayoroa is No. 3 (4:49.24)

Herreid/Selby Area’s Brenden Begeman is an interesting athlete, daring to dabble in the rare combination of throws and jumps. Begeman has the No. 2 shot put (51-00) and the No. 3 triple jump (41-06)

Keep an eye on some Class B teams from the north this weekend. 

• Ipswich has top-24 rankings in every Class B event

• The Aberdeen Roncalli boys have the No. 2 Class B, 1,600 meter relay (3:37.40)

• The Frederick Area boys have the No. 6 Class B, 800-meter relay (1:35.60), the No. 3 time in the 1,600 meter relay and the No. 2 time in the 3,200 meter relay.
