Crow Creek 51, Omaha Nation 43

RAPID CITY — Crow Creek held off Omaha Nation and captured the Makosica Championship at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

Crow Creek’s Mary Dion finished with 20 points and grabbed four rebounds. Ronessa Sazue tossed in 16 points and collected 11 rebounds. Justine Dog Eagle had six points and four rebounds. Cacee Adams posted eight rebounds.

For Omaha Nation, Dailene Walker had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Tylisha McCauley added 11 points, while Desma Walker had 10 points and 10 boards. 


Rapid City Christian 49, Lakota Tech 25

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian pulled past Lakota Tech for a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday.

Rapid City Christian’s Hayden Thorton logged 19 points and hit four 3-pointers. Lydia Williams added 11 points and seven rebounds. Abby Thomsen had six points and four rebounds.

For Lakota Tech, Shania Ferguson posted 12 points and six rebounds. Isabella Shangreaux finished with five points. Kate Robinson finished with four points and five rebounds. 


White River 54, Custer 33

RAPID CITY — White River coasted past Custer for a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday.

White River’s Maleena Brave finished with 13 points, while Chaela O’Leary had 11 points and eight rebounds. Page Wright added 10 points. Kamaria Krogman posted nine points and eight rebounds. Riley Lunderman recorded five points and five rebounds.

For Custer, Kylee Ellerton logged 12 points and six rebounds. Jordyn Larsen added nine points. Mya Tennyson posted four points and five rebounds. 


Lower Brule 58, Dupree 54

RAPID CITY — Lower Brule clipped Dupree for a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday.

Lower Brule’s Lael Middletent finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Brilyn LaRoche recorded 14 points, four rebounds and four steals. Kaitlyn Thompson added eight points and eight rebounds. Allison Wells posted seven points and five boards. 

For Dupree, Dakota Longbrake finished with 21 points and hit four 3-pointers. Taylee Jewett added 13 points. Jaysia Starr finished with seven points and eight rebounds. Kamari Jensen finished with four points and eight rebounds. 


Todd County 66, Pine Ridge 37

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Todd County to a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday.

Todd County’s Lesleen Makes Room For Them finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and four 3-pointers. Payton Leroy posted 14 points and four 3-pointers. Pet’a Brave logged 14 points and four rebounds. 

Pine Ridge’s Diana Long Visitor finished with 12 points. Kylee Few Tails and Bree Sounding Sides had six points apiece. 


St. Francis 44, Tiospa Zina 40

RAPID CITY — St. Francis outlasted Tiospa Zina for a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday.

St. Francis’ Leah Bad Hand logged 16 points and 10 rebounds. Laila Marshall had 12 points and 15 rebounds. 

For Tiospa Zina, Latice Rodlund and Jaia Bursheim had nine points apiece. 


Marty 62, Santee 44 

RAPID CITY — Marty topped Santee for a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday.

Rozario Zephier logged 24 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Jayla Bruguier had 11 points and eight rebounds. Cadence Bernie posted eight points and seven rebounds. 

For Santee, Miley Pike had 22 points and 11 rebounds. 


Wakpala 54, Oelrichs 41

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Wakpala to a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday. 

Wakpala’s Tyrianna Hawk Bear posted 25 points and eight rebounds. Kadence Trangsrud had 14 points and six rebounds. 

For Oelrichs, Amelia Her Many Horses logged 20 points and 14 rebounds. Katel Her Many Horses finished with 13 points. 


Tiospaye Topa 51, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 44

RAPID CITY — Leilan Bowker and Pamela Meeter powered Tiospaye Topa to a Lakota Nation Invitational girls basketball win on Saturday. 

Bowker finished with 26 points and 18 rebounds. Meeter added 15 points and seven rebounds. 

For CEB, KaiLoni Johnson scored nine points. Tiana Johnson added eight points and four rebounds. Tomi Moran had eight points. JaiLynn Knife had eight points. Suni Bowman added six points and five rebounds.
