Colman-Egan 62, Dell Rapids St. Mary 46

COLMAN — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 9 Colman-Egan to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 10 Dell Rapids St. Mary on Thursday. 

CE’s Quinn Meyer scored 18 points, added seven rebounds and five assists. Jolie Flatten finished with 16 points and four 3-pointers. Brynlee Landis added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Mya Reiff had nine points and four rebounds. Maci Voelker scored four points and five rebounds.

For DRSM, Maddyn LeBrun scored 15 points and added 11 rebounds. Stephenie Geraets had 12 points, five rebounds and four steals. Layla Joe Hanson added nine points and Madleyn Klein scored six points. 


Corsica-Stickney 38, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 31

FORESTBURG — Braylee Bordewyk powered Corsica-Stickney to an upset win over Class B No. 1 Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in girls basketball action on Thursday. 

Bordewyk finished with a game-high 23 points. 

For SCW, Liz Boschee scored 12 points. Lainey Goertz had eight points and Cami Edwards added six points. 


Flandreau 61, Beresford 59

FLANDREAU — Tenley LeBrun’s go-ahead 3-pointer with 27 seconds left lifted Class A No. 10 Flandreau to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Flandreau’s Morgan Sheppard finished with 30 points and seven rebounds. 

Beresford’s Ella Merriman scored a game-high 36 points and Kennedy Merrigan scored 11 points. 


Chester 51, McCook Central/Montrose 37

CHESTER — Jacy Wolf and Katelyn Schut combined to score 30 points to lead Chester to a Thursday girls basketball win.

Wolf scored 19 points and Schut added 11 points. Schut added seven rebounds, while Wolf had six steals. Emmerson Eppard added 13 rebounds, six assists and four steals. 

For MCM, Cami McGuire scored 11 points. 


Parkston 61, Chamberlain 12 

CHAMBERLAIN — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 5 Parkston to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Berkley Ziebart finished with 15 points and three rebounds. Morgan Maxwell added 13 points, while Keeara Oakley had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Alexis Holzbauer scored seven points and Emelia Maxwell had five points.

For Chamberlain, Natalie Nelson scored four points.  


Lennox 58, Madison 21

LENNOX — Class A No. 2 Lennox coasted past Madison for a Thursday girls basketball victory.

Lennox’s Teagen Sturm finished with nine points and three assists. Bergan Musser and Olivia Niederbaumer recorded eight points apiece. Niederbaumer added four rebounds. Andie Peters scored seven points.

For Madison, Jordyn Schmidt scored six points. 


Wagner 60, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 36

WAGNER — Ashlyn Koupal powered Class A No. 7 Wagner to a Thursday girls basketball win.

Koupal recorded 29 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, five blocks and three steals. Braxton Nedved totaled 12 points. Hannah Holzbauer scored six points and grabbed six rebounds.

For TDA, Kinley Spaans scored 22 points and collected 11 rebounds.


Centerville 51, Avon 23

CENTERVILLE — Three players scored in double figures as Centerville ran away from Avon in girls basketball action Thursday.

Brea Austin led the Cyclones with 18 points and three steals, Izzie Eide had 15 points, Peyton Hansen collected 10 points while Tessa Eide netted four points, seven rebounds and two assists in the win.

For Avon, Alexis Vanderlei and Emersyn Haenfler each had five points while Breanna Hento and Rilyn Thury each had four points in the loss.


Sioux Valley 81, Baltic 23

BALTIC — Four players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 4 Sioux Valley for a Thursday girls basketball win.

SV’s Talya Vincent finished with 21 points and five 3-pointers. Kailey Cradduck totaled 16 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three 3-pointers. Liberty Trygstad had 15 points, five steals, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Amari Ward recorded 11 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Miley Keating added nine points. Brooke Knutson had five points. 

For Baltic, Meredith Larson finished with 10 points and seven rebounds. Braylee Parmely had five points.


Deubrook Area 74, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 24

RUTLAND — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 8 Deubrook Area defeated Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in girls basketball action Thursday.

Kylee Johnson led the Dolphins with 13 points, Mataya Gous and Peyton Trooien each added 10 points, Matte Bauman added nine points, Neely Gustad collected six points, while Matti Ramlo had five points in the win.

For ORR, Brynnlee Lingbeck netted 10 points while Brooklyn Hyland had five points in the loss.


Sioux Falls Washington 64, Harrisburg 48

HARRISBURG — Rylan Kennett powered Class AA No. 3 Sioux Falls Washington to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Kennett finished with 25 points, while Dana Harpe and Josie Biteler scored 14 points apiece. 

For Harrisburg, Logan Durnil scored 12 points. Claire McCallum and Allison Flanagan scored 10 points apiece. 


Dec. 18 Boys Basketball 

McCook Central/Montrose 71, Chester 57

CHESTER — McCook Central/Montrose pulled away from Chester for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Chester’s Jaxton Opdahl finished with 19 points and four assists. Teegan Hodne scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds. 

For MCM, Ben Wiebersick had 13 points. Owen Schmidt and Zan McCormick added 12 points apiece.


Freeman 62, Canistota 31

CANISTOTA — Luke Peters and Tate Sorensen combined for 30 points as Class B No. 7 Freeman raced past Canistota in boys basketball action Thursday.

Peters paced the Flyers with 18 points, six assists and four steals, Sorensen added 12 points, four rebounds and four steals, Oliver Waltner netted eight points and six boards, David Walter had seven points while Tayden Kerrigan brought down six rebounds in the win.

For Canistota, Carter Becker had nine points, seven rebounds and two steals, Caleb Schroeder totaled five points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks, while Kaedyn Kennedy had six points in the loss.


Flandreau 57, Beresford 43

FLANDREAU — Kody Kneebone and Luke Sheppard each recorded a double-double in Flandreau’s win over Beresford in boys basketball action Thursday.

Kneebone totaled 22 points and 10 rebounds while Sheppard added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Fliers.

Beresford’s Tiegen Nyhaug had 19 points while Payden Hoffman added 12 points in the loss.


Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 46, Corsica-Stickney 38

FORESTBURG — Sanborn Central–Wonsocket pulled away in the second half to beat Corsica-Stickney in boys basketball action Thursday.

McCoy Schulz led the Blackhawks with 12 points and six rebounds, Parker Ettswold had eight points, Trison Larson had seven points while Sam Baruth added seven rebounds in the win.

For CS, Aiden Clites had 11 points, Jett Kemp added nine points while Sawyer Schmidt had six points in the loss.


Centerville 64, Avon 55

CENTERVILLE — Ethan Bobzin and Corbin Tople combined for 37 points in Centerville’s boys basketball win over Avon Thursday.

Bobzin led the Cyclones with 19 points, three rebounds and three assists, Tople added 18 points and four rebounds, Alec Austin netted nine points and five rebounds, Logan Ruter totaled seven points and two steals while Bo Eide had six points in the win.

For Avon, Dominic Doom had 19 points and eight boards, Zander Fathke recorded 17 points and three assists while Al’Shamon Gunter totaled 10 points, 12 rebounds and four steals in the loss.


Aberdeen Christian 70, Leola/Frederick Area 62

LEOLA — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 8 Aberdeen Christian to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Aberdeen Christian’s Luke Kaiser finished with 18 points and hit three 3-pointers. Charles Eichler added 16 points. Loyall Smith-Wade scored 14 points. Jet Johnson scored nine points on three 3-pointers and Raymond Rodriguez-Martinez had five points.

For LFA, Winston Clark scored 15 points and Milo Sumption had 14 points. Westyn Thorpe added 10 points and Jace Thorpe scored nine points.
