Dec. 29 Girls Basketball Roundup - Faulkton Area topples Jones County at Huron Holiday Classic

Faulkton Area 47, Jones County 38

HURON — Brooklyn Mueller’s 24-point double-double powered Faulkton Area over Jones County during Monday’s Huron Holiday Classic.

Mueller tallied 24 points, 10 rebounds and two steals in the win, Anika Mueller had 10 points and seven rebounds, while Presleigh Martinmaas had 10 points, four rebounds and three steals in the win.

For JC, BreAna Aske had 13 points and eight rebounds, Mallory Venard tallied eight points while Aubrey Tucker netted six points and five rebounds in the loss.


Colman-Egan 57, Wessington Springs 41

HURON — Brynlee Landis’ 32 points guided Class B No. 8 Colman-Egan to a girls basketball victory over Wessington Springs Monday at the Huron Holiday Classic.

Landis led the team with 32 points in the win, Quinn Meyer added 11 points, Jolie Flatten had nine points while Maci Voelker totaled five points in the win.

For WS, Kenzie Kolousek led with 18 points, Kaitlyn Braun added nine points while Kendall Kolousek and Kerstynn Heim each had six points in the loss.


Tripp-Delmont/Armour 39, Scotland/Menno 35

SCOTLAND — Kinley Spaans’ 22 points lifted Tripp-Delmont/Armour over Scotland/Menno in girls basketball action Monday.

Spaans led the Nighthawks with 22 points in the win.

For SM, Lexie McNinch had 11 points and six rebounds, Zoe Schaeffer added 10 points while Kylie Guthmiller netted five points and 11 boards in the loss.


Dec. 29 Boys Basketball Roundup

Hanson 56, Kimball-White Lake 28

ALEXANDRIA — A balanced scoring attack helped Hanson take down Kimball-White Lake during Monday’s boys basketball action.

Cole Dewald led the Beavers with 12 points and four assists, Conner Endorf added 11 points, Jett Jager had eight points, four rebounds and three steals while Nate Wilbur and Rhett Marek each had seven points in the win.

For KWL, Jack Suelflow tallied 15 points and three blocks in the loss.


Scotland-Menno 54, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 52

SCOTLAND — Scotland-Menno clipped Tripp-Delmont/Armour in boys basketball action Monday.

Izayah Ulmer led the Trappers with 18 points and seven steals, Micah Goehring added 11 points and eight rebounds, Hunter Yosten tallied eight points, while Erick Buechler had 12 rebounds in the win.

For TDA, Ashton Koster had 16 points, Grant Wunder added 11 points, Daylin Kok and Jake Strand each tallied nine points while Kok added six rebounds in the loss.
