Pine Ridge 73, Groton Area 62

MITCHELL — Marvin Richard III tossed in 31 points as Class A No. 5 Pine Ridge knocked off Groton Area in Hoop City Classic boys basketball action on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Richard III finished 11 of 18 from the field, hit three 3-pointers and dished out seven assists. Kanye Hollow Horn tallied 13 points and three boards. Jaylin Rouillard posted 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Anthony Steele had 10 points. 

For Groton Area, Lane Tietz recorded 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. Jacob Zak posted 14 points. Ryder Johnson and Logan Ringgenberg scored 11 points apiece. 

Campbell County 60, Rapid City Christian 31

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Campbell County to a Hoop City Classic girls basketball win on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Kaylie Neary posted 15 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three 3-pointers. Patience Smith and Onna Castellanos scored 13 and 12 points, respectively. 

For Rapid City Christian, Abby Thomason logged eight points and three rebounds. Brynn Casey added six points. 

Waconia 80, Campbell County 55

MITCHELL — Waconia, Minnesota’s Gavin Olson tossed in 30 points in a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Olson finished 11 of 13 from the field and 5 of 6 from the 3-point line. He added four rebounds and four assists. William Kirsch tallied 21 points, four assists and three rebounds. Jackson Hayes logged 12 points and five rebounds. Christopher Fulford had six points and four rebounds. Simon Meath posted five points.

For Campbell County, Lane Hladky had 21 points, three rebounds and three assists. Mason Drube added 13 points. Seth Petersen scored six points, while Rylan Robertson and Jack Andela had five points apiece. 

Aberdeen Central 49, Thunder Basin 41

MITCHELL — Taryn Hermansen and Lauryn Burckhard combined for 34 points and 21 rebounds to power Aberdeen Central to a Hoop City Classic girls basketball win on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Hermansen finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Burckhard added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Caydi Withers logged seven points, while Emma Dohrer had six points and four rebounds. 

For Thunder Basin, Brianna Ketchum posted eight points. 

 

Sioux Falls Christian 67, DeLaSalle 63 

MITCHELL — Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian clipped DeLaSalle for a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Friday at the Corn Palace.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Griffen Goodbary posted 23 points and five rebounds. Cooper Goodbary added 12 points and four rebounds. Cole Snyder posted 11 points. Brant Wassenaar had eight points and five rebounds, while Jude vanDonkersgoed scored six points. Bennett Wassenaar scored five points. 

DeLaSalle’s De’Von Irwin posted 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. 

Mitchell 53, Thunder Basin 26

MITCHELL — Mitchell picked up a Hoop City Classic girls basketball win on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Mitchell’s Sawyer Stoebner posted 19 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. Lauren VanOverschelde logged 12 points, while Allison Meyerink added 11 points and four rebounds. Addie Siemsen had seven points. 

For Thunder Basin, Kambel Cox scored 12 points. 

Cordova 63, Hamlin 57

MITCHELL — Cordova clipped Hamlin on Friday for a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win at the Corn Palace. 

Cordova’s KJ Tenner tallied 22 points and five steals. Julius Thedford added 17 points and eight rebounds. Randin Johnson added nine points and five rebounds.

For Hamlin, Tyson Stevenson recorded 23 points and hit five 3-pointers. Easton Neuendorf finished with 16 points, six assists, four steals, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Jackson Wadsworth had 10 points. Zac VanMeeteren finished with nine rebounds and four points.
