MOUNT VERNON — Mt. Vernon/Plankinton edged Hanson for a girls basketball win on Thursday. 


Vermillion 43, Sioux Falls Christian 39 

SIOUX FALLS — Vermillion edged Class A No. 4 Sioux Falls Christian for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Vermillion’s Taylor Reuvers finished with 14 points and five assists. Chandler Cleveland had 10 points, while Brooke Jensen added nine points and eight rebounds. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Maya Nelson had 15 points, while Mya VanDonge added 10 points. Avery Reitz scored six points. Jaxsyn Swift finished with six rebounds and five assists. 


Lakota Tech 64, Todd County 41

PINE RIDGE — Shania Ferguson and Daisy Red Hawk powered Lakota Tech to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Ferguson finished with 29 points, six rebounds and nine steals. Red Hawk added 19 points and eight rebounds. Kate Robinson recorded seven points, six rebounds and three steals. Layla Robinson finished with 11 rebounds and four points. Jordan Waln had nine rebounds and three points. 

Todd County’s Payton Leroy finished with 16 points and four rebounds. Lesleen Makes Room For Them scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Pet’a Brave had seven points and six rebounds. 


Lyman 69, Highmore-Harrold 23

PRESHO — Four players scored in double-figures as Class No. 5 Lyman upended Highmore-Harrold in girls basketball action Thursday.

Makaylee Scott powered Lyman with 15 points to go along with three assists and nine steals. Jordyn Scottt led Lyman with 16 points and had two rebounds and three assists. Skyler Volmer pitched in with points, four assists and four steals. Brook Palmer chipped in with ten points for the Raiders. 

Highmore-Harrold stats were not reported


Elkton-Lake Benton 45, De Smet 23

DE SMET — Elkton-Lake Benton pulled away from De Smet for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

ELB’s Kylie Ramlo and Tevan Erickson scored 10 points apiece. Ramlo added seven rebounds and three steals. Erickson logged six steals, seven assists and four rebounds. Sydney DeVries and Charlie Thooft had eight points apiece. Malayna Hemmen had five points and four rebounds. Andrea Renkly logged eight rebounds and four points.

De Smet’s Hazel Luethmers had 10 points. Aubree Blue finished with five points. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 60, Dakota Valley 53

NORTH SIOUX CITY — A balanced scoring attack helped Elk Point-Jefferson earn a road win over Dakota Valley in girls basketball action Monday night. 

Ashley Brewer paced Elkton Lake-Benton with 12 points. Cera Schmitz and Kaitlyn VanRoekel each had 11 points with Schmitz dishing out six assists. 

Ella Otten led Dakota Valley with 21 points and three assists. Aubrey Worden finished with 14 points and Cameryn Sommervold added nine rebounds. 


Canistota 59, Menno 54

CANISTOTA — A balanced scoring attack helped Canistota hold off Menno in girls basketball action Monday. 

Natalie Becker led the Hawks with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. Kayla Pappendick added 13 points and four rebounds. Hannah Hoffman chipped in with nine points and five rebounds. 

Ashton Massey led Menno with 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Kaelie Derby added 15 points and two rebounds for Menno. 


Garretson 52, McCook Central/Montrose 40 

SALEM — Three players scored in double figures to pace Garretson to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Garretson’s Sydney Olson logged 13 points and five rebounds. Adisynn Fink finished with 12 points and three rebounds. Jordyn Williams had 10 points and five boards. Kylie Christensen had seven points and eight rebounds. Tayler Benson and Ashley Harris scored five points apiece. 

For MCM, Mya Morrison scored nine points. Abby Wagner added eight points and 10 rebounds. Carly Katzer scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds. Ashtyn DeNikker had five points. 


Burke 48, Colome 22

BURKE — Burke coasted past Colome for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Burke’s Cecily Geaghan finished with 12 points. Emmie Hausmann recorded eight points and Paige Bull added six points. 

Colome’s Shaleena Kingsley had six points and Raelynn Kingsley finished with five points.
