Centerville 48, Elk Point-Jefferson 42

CENTERVILLE — Class B No. 2 Centerville clipped Elk Point-Jefferson for a girls basketball win on Monday.

Centerville’s Emma Marshall recorded 22 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Althea Gust posted 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. Keira Austin added seven points, while Makayla Heesch posted seven rebounds.

EPJ’s Ashley Brewer scored nine points, while Bentlee Kollbaum scored eight points. Kaitlyn VanRoekel scored seven points. Cera Schmitz and Courtney Brewer added six points apiece. 


Vermilion 51, Lennox 40 

LENNOX — Chandler Cleveland and Brooke Jensen combined for 31 points to pace Vermillion to a girls basketball win on Monday. With the win, Vermillion is the co-champs for the Dak-XII Conference with Sioux Falls Christian. 

Cleveland finished with 20 points and four rebounds. Jensen added 11 points.

Lennox’s Carli Kuyper had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Dani Highum had 10 points. 


Parkston 64, Estelline-Hendricks 30 

PARKSTON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Parkston to a girls basketball win on Monday.

Lauren Ziebart recorded 19 points and four rebounds. Berkley Ziebart added 16 points, while Keera Oakley had 14 points. Gracie Oakley recorded nine points and five rebounds. Mya Thuringer had four points, four assists and seven rebounds. 

Estelline-Hendricks’ Kenzy Beare recorded 10 points and seven rebounds. Sadie Johnson had nine points, while Ayla Texley recorded five points.


Harding County 65, Bison 23

BUFFALO — Claire Verhulst and Bailey Verhulst combined for 28 points to pace Class B No. 3 Harding County to a girls basketball win on Monday.

Claire Verhulst had 16 points and five steals, while Bailey Verhulst added 12 points and four steals. Macey Wendt and Kelsi Costello scored eight points apiece. Costello added 10 steals. Brayden Padden posted six points.

Bison’s Zoey Kopren scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds. Abigayle Thompson logged seven points. 


De Smet 44, Canistota 42

CANISTOTA — De Smet edged Canistota for a girls basketball win on Monday.

De Smet’s Hazel Luethmers recorded 22 points and nine rebounds. Aubree Blue added eight points and four rebounds. Audi Currier logged five points.

Canistota’s Natalie Becker and Kayla Papendick posted 12 points apiece. Papendick grabbed eight rebounds. Allison Leber had seven points, while Autumn Hutcheson grabbed five boards. 


Tea Area 63, Aberdeen Central 35

TEA — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 5 Tea Area to a girls basketball win on Monday.

Tea Area’s Katie Vasecka logged 25 points, five rebounds and four assists. Ellie Clayberg added 12 points on four 3-pointers. Mara Grant added 11 points and four rebounds. Miah Weber posted seven points, while Haidyn West scored five points.

Aberdeen Central’s Taryn Hermansen logged 12 points and 11 rebounds. Lauryn Burckhard had seven points and five rebounds. Emma Dohrer and Taylor Lyke scored five points apiece. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 54, Hills-Beaver Creek, Minn., 48 

HILLS — Tevan Erickson and Kylie Ramlo combined for 36 points to pace Elkton-Lake Benton to a girls basketball win on Monday.

Erickson finished with 20 points, five rebounds and five steals. Ramlo added 16 points, five steals and four assists. Malayna Hemmen had nine points, while Charlie Thooft added seven points.
