Mitchell 49, Pierre 48 

MITCHELL — Lauren VanOverschelde’s 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left propelled Class AA No. 2 Mitchell to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Mitchell’s Sawyer Stoebner scored 17 points. VanOverschelde scored 14 points and Maddie Siemsen logged eight points. 

Pierre’s Lennix Dupris tossed in 13 points for Pierre, which trailed by 13 points at halftime. Ryann Barry scored 11 points and Aleise Christopherson netted 10 points. Reese Terwilliger and Gracelyn Taylor scored six points apiece. 


Arlington 64, Elkton-Lake Benton 37

LAKE BENTON — A balanced scoring attack helped Class B No. 5 Arlington run past Elkton-Lake Benton for a girls basketball win Friday.

Addalyn Steffensen led the Cardinals with 17 points. Jaelyn Huntimer also reached double-figures with 13 points. 

Tevan Erickson led Elkton-Lake Benton with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and three assists. Kylie Remlo added 13 points, two rebounds and three assists. 


North Central 45, Sunshine Bible Academy 29

MILLER — A balanced scoring attack helped North Central pick up a road win over Sunshine BIble Academy in girls basketball action Friday.

Ella Batie led North Central with 15 points, nine rebounds, two assists and five steals. Amree VanderVorst added 14 points and seven rebounds while Alaina Dosch chipped in with eight points. 

Sadie Konechne led Sunshine BIble Academy with nine points and 13 rebounds. Betra Amare had a nice night with nine points, five rebounds and six steals. 


Wagner 74, Platte-Geddes 42

WAGNER — Three players scored in double figures to power Wagner to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Ashlyn Koupal recorded 28 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Macy Koupal added 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Lydia Yost posted 16 points and six assists. Hayden Knudsen had six points. 

Platte-Geddes’ Karly VanDerWerff finished with 13 points and four rebounds. Cadence VanZee logged 10 points and four rebounds. Kori VanDerWerff had seven points and four rebounds. Taylor Shrank logged five rebounds and four points. 


Lyman 52, Jones County 22

MURDO — Three players scored in double figures to pace Lyman to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Lyman’s Mak Scott recorded 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Jordyn Scott added 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Brooke Palmer had 10 points and three steals. Skyler Volmer logged five points, seven rebounds and four steals. 


Bon Homme 69, Gregory 34

GREGORY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Bon Homme to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Kenadee Kozak logged 20 points and Jurni Vavruska added 19 points. Olivia Bures had 10 points and Taycee Ranek scored eight points. Erin Heusinkveld had five points.

 Gregory’s Regan Graesser scored 11 points. Ashlyn Vosika scored nine points on three 3-pointers. Dani VanDerWerff and Asia VanDerWerff scored six points apiece. 

 

Tea Area 48, Elk Point-Jefferson 39 

ELK POINT — Class A No. 5 Tea Area picked up a girls basketball win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Friday.

Tea Area’s Katie Vasecka logged 20 points and 12 rebounds. Haidyn West had 10 points. Mara Grant added eight points and five boards. Anna Binde scored five points.

EPJ’s Cera Schmitz logged nine points, while Ashley Brewer had eight points. Kaitlyn VanRoekel and Bentlee Kollbaum had seven points apiece.


Dakota Valley 63, Madison 12

NORTH SIOUX CITY — A balanced scoring attack helped Dakota Valley earn a win over Madison in girls basketball action Friday.

Ella Otten led Dakota Valley with 22 points and three assists. Aubree Worden had 10 points and five steals. Emerson Mead grabbed eight rebounds while Cameryn Sommervold and Sophie Tuttle each had seven rebounds. 

Stats for Madison were not reported


Harrisburg 57, Douglas 28

HARRISBURG — A balanced scoring attack helped Class AA No. 5 Harrisburg push past Douglas for a girls basketball win Friday night. 

Abby Flanagan paced Harrisburg with 13 points. Sadie Mehrman also had 12 points for the Tigers. 

Chloe Shreve led Douglas with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Colee Kruse chipped in with 11 points for Dougals.
