Mt. Vernon/Plankinton 54, Redfield 17

PLANKINTON — Reagan Rus and Emilee Fox powered Mt. Vernon/Plankinton to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Rus recorded 25 points, while Fox tossed in eight 3-pointers for 24 points. 


Highmore-Harrold 54, Sunshine Bible Academy 26

WOLSEY — Highmore-Harrold picked up a 281 Conference girls basketball tournament win on Tuesday.

Highmore-Harrold’s Kendall Cermak and Jada Baloun scored 14 points apiece. Callie Chavez had nine points, while Addison McDonnell scored seven points. Baloun and April Fallis had six rebounds apiece. 

For SBA, Abby Hinman and Betra Amare scored six points apiece. Hinman, Brielle Jeffery and Amare grabbed four rebounds apiece. 


Wessington Springs 41, James Valley Christian 39 

WOLSEY — Wessington Springs edged James Valley Christian for a 281 Conference girls basketball tournament win on Tuesday.

Wessington Springs’ Carissa Scheel finished with 19 points, while Avery Orth logged 13 points. Kerstynn Heim scored five points.

For James Valley Christian, Addison Bartholow scored 14 points and Alexa Goertz scored 11 points. Addyson Knight posted seven points and Kaylie Robinson scored five points. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 44, Iroquois/Lake Preston 40 

WOLSEY — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket clipped Iroquois/Lake Preston for a 281 Conference girls basketball tournament win on Tuesday.

SCW’s Liz Boschee finished with 20 points, while Kenna Oschner had seven points. Jaycee Baruth and Kam Oschner scored six points apiece. 

For  Iroquois/Lake Preston, Adison Moore scored 20 points. Faith Steffensen and Hadlee Holt scored nine points apiece. 


Wolsey-Wessington 47, Hitchcock-Tulare 44 

WOLSEY — Wolsey-Wessington edged Hitchcock-Tulare for a 281 Conference girls basketball tournament win on Tuesday.

Wolsey-Wessington’s Cambree Hoekman finished with 16 points, while Katelyn Schroeder had 12 points and 11 rebounds. 

For Hitchcock-Tulare, Lainey Uttecht recorded 23 points and five rebounds. Payton Kemnitz had 16 points. Shae Uttecht had six rebounds. 


Lyman 58, White River 41

PRESHO — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 3 Lyman to a girls basketball win over White River on Tuesday.

Lyman’s Skyler Volmer finished with 21 points, eight steals, five rebounds, four blocked shots and four assists. Brooke Palmer posted 14 points and 14 rebounds. Mak Scott posted 12 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. McKenzie Laverdure had seven points. 

White River stats were not reported. 

 

Wagner 66, O’Neill, Neb., 44 

WAGNER — Ashlyn Koupal and Macy Koupal powered Class A No. 2 Wagner to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Ashlyn Koupal finished with 27 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Macy Koupal added 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Lydia Yost had nine points and four rebounds. Braxton Nedved and Hayden Fischer scored five points apiece.

 

Vermillion 56, Elk Point-Jefferson 36

VERMILLION — Three players scored in double figures to pace Vermillion to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Vermillion’s Chandler Cleveland finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Jenaya Cleveland had 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Brooke Jensen posted 10 points and seven rebounds. Taylor Reuvers had nine points and seven assists. Brooklyn Voss logged five assists, three steals and three points.

For EPJ, Bentlee Kollbaum posted 10 points and five rebounds. Kaitlyn VanRoekel logged nine points and three rebounds. Cera Schmitz finished with eight points and seven rebounds. Ashley Brewer scored six points.


Kimball/White Lake 66, Bridgewater-Emery 39

BRIDGEWATER — Three players scored in double-figures as Kimball/White Lake rolled to a win over Bridgewater-Emery in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Harley Namanny paced the WiLdKats with 26 points and four assists. Ryann Nielsen finished with 15 points and six rebounds while Rylee McCord added ten points and six rebounds.

Stats for Bridgewater-Emery were not reported.


Flandreau 67, Deuel 14

FLANDREAU — Four players scored in double figures as Class A No. 4 Flandreau picked up a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Flandreau’s Lizzy Pavlis logged 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Lily Klein posted 15 points and four steals. Sadie Iott had 12 points, while Claire Sheppard added 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Deuel’s Camdyn Peterreins and Graclyn Nielsen scored three points apiece. 


Ethan 75, Menno 17 

MENNO — Four players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 2 Ethan to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Ava Lingemann led the way with 21 points, eight assists and three steals. Marissa Storm added 14 points, six steals, four assists and three rebounds. Ella Pollreisz had 11 points and 10 steals. Rachel Klock scored 11 points, while Maddy Bartscher had eight points.

For Menno, Ellyana Ulmer scored six points, while Kaelie Derby had five points and three rebounds. Ashton Massey posted four points, three rebounds and three blocked shots. 


Hanson 59, Howard 43

ALEXANDRIA — Three players scored in double figures to pace Hanson to a girls basketball win over Howard on Tuesday.

Taziah Hawkins finished with 17 points, four assists and three steals. Eliza Oltmanns added 16 points and six rebounds. Alyssa Moschell logged 12 points and seven rebounds. Kylie Haiar had seven boards and Cadence Jarding had three steals.

For Howard, Abby Aslesen logged 25 points and five rebounds. Liz Albrecht finished with six points and Dakota Spader posted five boards. 


Faulkton Area 58, Aberdeen Christian 43

ABERDEEN — Carley Cotton and Presleigh Martinmaas powered Faulkton Area to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Cotton finished with 20 points and five rebounds, while Martinmaas added 11 points and seven rebounds. Jaymi Senn logged nine points and nine rebounds. Kelli Stoecker had six points and six rebounds, while Anika Mueller recorded six points and four boards.

For Aberdeen Christian, Chloe Bosma had 11 points and eight rebounds. Jolie Fogarty had 11 points and three boards. Sophia Fogarty had nine points, while Chloe Holt added nine points and six boards. 


North Central 45, Ipswich 21

ROSCOE — Ellie Batie and Amree Vander Vorst combined for 32 points as North Central defeated Ipswich in girls basketball action Tuesday.

Batie powered the North Central offense with 18 points while Vander Vorst added 14 points. 

Marley Guthmiller led Ipswich with six points. 


Tri-Valley 60, Deubrook Area 50

WHITE — Tri-Valley held off Deubrook Area for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Tri-Valley’s Lauren Grinde scored 24 points, while Hailey Sorenson posted 13 points. Madelyn Wenzel had five points. 

For Deubrook Area, Mataya Gouws finished with 20 points. Kadence Bowne posted eight points. Matte Bauman and Kylee Johnson scored five points apiece. 


Tea Area 50, Watertown 32

TEA — Three players scored in double figures to pace Tea Area to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Tea Area’s Katie Vasecka finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Mara Grant added 12 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Ellie Clayberg posted 10 points, four assists and three rebounds. Miah Weber added six points.

For Watertown, Emery Thury finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Miranda Falconer had seven points, six assists and five steals. Jade Lund logged five points. 


Huron 54, Brookings 36

HURON — Hylton Heinz and Hamytn Heinz combined for 32 points to pace Huron to a girls basketball win over Brookings on Tuesday.

Hylton Heinz finished with 18 points, three assists and three steals. Hamtyn Heinz had 14 points and four rebounds. Aly Davis and Elizabeth Heinen added six points apiece. Heinen added eight rebounds. Makenzie Siemonsma and Allison Janes scored five points apiece. 

For Brookings, Macy Even and Tess Burns scored 10 points apiece. Sloan McLagan had seven points, while Logan Smidt had five points.
