Corsica-Stickney 9, Dimock-Emery 2

CORSICA — Blake Moke mowed down 18 batters as Corsica-Stickney topped Dimock-Emery in a Sunshine League amateur baseball contest on Tuesday.

In a complete-game performance, Moke allowed three hits, two runs and walked three batters on 147 pitches. Offensively, Moke added three hits and drove in two runs. 

Luke Bamberg and Aaron Groeneweg notched three hits apiece, while Bamberg drove in two runs. Nathan Blom and Caleb Christ each had a hit. Groeneweg and Blom both drove in a run. 

For Dimock-Emery, Drew Kitchens, Chase Arend and Carter Dye each had a hit. Sam Pischke took the loss after allowing six hits, seven runs (five earned), walked two batters and struck out four in his 5.1-inning start. 


Renner Monarchs 15, Brookings Cubs 5

RENNER — Renner racked up 18 hits and belted four home runs in a Tuesday amateur baseball win over Brookings. 

Cyler Melvin, Ben Ihrke, David Borchardt and Will Fisher each smacked home runs, including a grand slam by Borchardt in the second inning. 

Borchardt finished 3 of 4 and drove in five runs. Olszewski, Melvin, Palmer, Ihrke, Fisher and Naythan each had two hits. Ihrke drove in three runs, while Olszewski and Fisher each drove in two runs. 

Tom Sun struck out seven batters, allowed three hits, three earned runs and walked one batter in three relief innings to earn the win. 

For Brookings, Jeff Fish went 2 of 4 at the plate and hit a homer. Mason Bebensee took the loss for the Cubs. He allowed 11 runs on 12 hits, struck out three and walked one in his 3.2-inning start.
