June 21 Amateur Baseball Roundup - Sam Michels' big game leads Dimock-Emery past Platte

Dimock-Emery Raptors 16, Platte Killer Tomatoes 5

PLATTE — Sam Michels’ big game helped the Dimock-Emery Raptors pick up a Sunshine League amateur baseball win over the Platte Killer Tomatoes on Tuesday.

Michels finished with two hits in four at bats and five RBI to lead the Raptors. Tyson Kayser led the Raptors with four hits in five at bats, while Colton Plagmann had three hits. Peyton Nash and Sam Arend each added two hits. Arend also drove in three runs.

Nash took the win for Dimock-Emery, allowing nine hits and five runs in seven innings, while striking out seven.

Miles Kott took the loss for Platte, allowing seven hits and ten runs in two innings, while striking out two and walking one.

Richard Sternberg, Hunter Hewitt, and Sheldon Gant each tallied two hits to lead the Killer Tomatoes, while Hewiit had two RBI.

 

Alexandria Angels 6, Winner/Colome Pheasants 3

ALEXANDRIA — Jordan Gau and Tyson Gau belted home runs, while Jed Schmidt struck out eight batters in Alexandria’s Sunshine League amateur baseball win over Winner/Colome on Tuesday. 

Tyson Gau drove in three runs on two hits, while Jordan Gau added two hits and two RBI. Tyson Gau hammered a two-run shot in the first inning, while Jordan Gau's two-run blast in the seventh inning made it 6-3. Cole Wenande, Jacob Giles and Jerrod Zens had two hits apiece. Peyton Smith and Adam Durfee each had a hit. The Angels finished with 12 hits. 

Schmidt allowed seven hits, three earned runs and walked seven batters in his seven-inning start. 

For Winner/Colome, Drew DeMers, Chandler Bakley and Austin Calhoon each had two hits. Derek Graesser, Reed Harter and Brendan Kamerzell each had a hit. Connor Hopkins struck out four batters, allowed 12 hits, six earned runs and walked four batters in his 6.1-inning start. 


Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar 13, Locke Electric 0

GROTON — The Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar raced past Locke Electric for an amatuer baseball win on Tuesday.

Max Otto led the Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar on the mound, giving up zero runs on four hits in seven innings, while striking out 16.

Karson Hesser was 5-for-5 at the plate to lead the Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar. Tyler Oliver and Michael Babcock each had three hits, while Dalton Cox added two hits. Hesser tallied five RBI, while Cox and Tyler Newman each added two RBI’s.

Aaron Severson took the loss for Locke Electric, allowing 18 hits and 13 runs in seven innings, while striking out four.

Heath Giedt, Dylan Frey, Spencer Locke, and Wilson Bonet each had one hit to lead Locke Electric.


Wynot Expos (Neb.) 10, Menno 6

WYNOT — The Wynot Expos picked up a South Central League amateur baseball win on Tuesday.

Peyton Wieseler took the win for the Expos, allowing six hits and four runs in 4 ⅔ innings, while striking out two.

The Expos totaled 14 hits, including Jackson Sudbeck leading the way with four hits in five at bats. Lee Heimes tallied three hits, while Wieseler and Jaelen Wieseler each added two hits. Peyton Wieseler led with two RBI’s.

Macon Oplinger took the loss for Menno, pitching seven innings and allowing ten hits and seven runs, while striking out four.

Menno had 11 hits, with Spencer Schultz, Tate Gale, and Tyler Miller each recording two hits. Tom Satler had two RBI’s.
