MOUNT VERNON — Berkeley Engelland powered Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a girls team title at Friday’s Greenway Relays. 

Engelland claimed four first-place finishes as the Titans racked up a meet-high 136 points, finishing ahead of Canton (92) and Ethan/Parkston (73). 

Engelland won the 100-meter dash (:12.60), 200-meter dash (:26.48), 400-meter dash (:59.30) and 800-meter run (2:26.17) to pace the Titans. 

MVP’s Tessa Pickart also won the triple jump, while the Titans won the girls 1,600 and 3,200-meter relays.

Burke’s Piper Hanson was a triple winner in the long jump (16-5.75), 100-meter hurdles (:16.28) and 300-meter hurdles (:50.56). 

Chamberlain distance ace Kinsey Evans won the 1,600-meter run (5:42.69) and 3,200-meter run (12:43.24). 

On the boys side, Tri-Valley edged Mount Vernon/Plankinton, 118.50-117, to secure the boys team title.

Tri-Valley’s Michael Beyer was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.24) and 300-meter hurdles (:42.49). Tri-Valley’s Connor Christensen (shot put) and Dustin Sees (long jump) also claimed individual titles. 

The Mustangs also won boys relays in the 400 (:45.48) and 1,600 (3:40.68). 

Wagner’s Matt Link was a double winner in the 100-meter dash (:11.50) and 200-meter dash (:24.01). 

Estelline/Hendricks’ Jon Nefzger claimed the boys discus (129-0) and javelin (130-1) throws, while he placed second in the shot put (47-2). 

Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Reed Rus set school records in the high jump (6-2) and 110-meter hurdles (:15.56), while teammate Jordan Stoltz set a school record in the triple jump (42-0).
