REDFIELD and MADISON — Redfield and Madison secured spots in next week’s Class B state tournament in Sioux Falls by picking up a pair of wins in the Region 2 tournament on Sunday. 

Peyton Osborn pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Muskrats to a 10-0, 6-inning win over Howard. 

Osborn gave up two hits while striking out five. He was 2 for 4 at the plate while driving in three runs. 

Redfield jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings and scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. 

The Muskrats defeated Castlewood/Deuel 11-1 earlier in the day. Camden Osborn led Redfield with three hits while Peyton Osborn had two hits. 

Meanwhile in Madison, the host Bulldogs secured their spot in Sioux Falls behind the strong pitching of Aspen Dahl for a 3-0 win over Sioux Valley. 

Dahl threw 109 pitches for the complete game victory, striking out 14 while allowing four walks and three hits. 

Hayden Kane led the Bulldogs at the plate with an RBI double in the first inning to give Madison an early 1-0 lead after two innings. The Bulldogs would later add two more runs in the sixth inning. 

Madison defeated Groton Area 14-4 in six innings earlier in the day. Dahl led the Bulldogs at the plate with three hits including a double and a triple while Mickale Dohrer picked up the win — pitching six innings, giving up four runs on two hits. He struck out two and walked four while only pitching 86 pitches. 

The rest of Class B will secure its spots in the state tournament beginning on Monday with regionals scheduled for North Sioux City, Vermillion, Platte, Winner, Tea and Dell Rapids. 

The Class B state tournament is scheduled for May 30-31 in Sioux Falls.
