Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 44, Colome 22

FREEMAN — Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy racked up 333 total yards en route to a Friday high school football win over Colome. 

Riley Tschetter led the Phoenix with six passing touchdowns and 230 yards. Maddox Kihne hauled in eight catches for 140 yards and three touchdown receptions. Matt Hagen, Evan Scharberg and Rocky Ammann each had touchdown receptions. Dominic Sperling rushed for 54 yards on 14 carries. Sperling had 7.5 tackles and Taylor Goodwin had an interception. 

Colome’s Eli Vobr finished with 57 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Vobr also rushed for 75 yards on 12 carries. Kaden Pechota had 21 receiving yards, while Lane Leighton and Kash Heath both had touchdown receptions. Seth Heath had 11.5 tackles, while Pechota had an interception on defense. 


Hanson 26, Canistota 6

ALEXANDRIA — Class 9AA No. 4 Hanson used 361 total yards, including 321 rushing yards, to pull away from Canistota for a high school football win on Friday.

Hanson’s Brock Tuttle rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns, while Jackson Jarding rushed for 106 yards. Hadley Wallace tallied 78 rushing yards and one touchdown, while Weston Kayser added one touchdown run. Jayce Slaba passed for 40 yards and one interception. Keenan Waldera had two interceptions.

Canistota’s Tage Ortman passed for 48 yards while rushing for 78 yards. Noah Kleinsasser added 52 rushing yards and one touchdown and 9.5 tackles on defense. Levi Schroeder tallied 10.5 tackles.

 



Corsica-Stickney 36, Avon 28 

CORSICA — Class 9B No. 5 Corsica-Stickney clipped Avon in Friday high school football action. The teams combined for 762 yards of total offense. 

Corsica-Stickney’s Shad Bosma recorded 126 passing yards and one passing touchdown. Waylon Bolle added 150 rushing yards on 14 carries and scored a rushing score. Carter Wright logged 59 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Wright also hauled in 106 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Tate Talsma had a rushing touchdown. Wright finished with 12 tackles, while Caleb Baumiller had an interception. 

Avon’s Jaden Stahl had 98 rushing yards on 15 carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Cade Faulkner, Paxton Bierema and Landon Mudder scored rushing touchdowns. Bierema threw for 25 yards. Stahl added 25 receiving yards. Bierema finished with 7.5 tackles. 

 



Wall 48, Lyman 6

WALL — Class 9AA No. 2 Wall coasted past Class 9A No. 4 Lyman in a top-five showdown on Friday night. 

Burk Blasius powered the Eagles with 275 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. He completed 10 of his 11 pass attempts. Rylan McDonnell hauled in three catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. Blair Blasius and Thane Simons added touchdown catches. Cedar Amiotte rushed for 95 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns. Mason Heath added a rushing touchdown. Quinn Moon logged 7.5 tackles. 

Lyman’s Teagan Gourneau finished with 80 passing yards. Tance Wagner rushed for 59 yards, while Gourneau had a rushing touchdown. Wagner had 64 receiving yards. Rory McManus had six tackles on defense. 


Hamlin 61, Castlewood 20 

CASTLEWOOD — Class 9AA No. 3 Hamlin erupted for 496 total yards and picked up a Friday high school football win over Class 9A No. 3 Castlewood.

Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson completed 9 of 9 passes for 216 yards and threw five touchdowns. Evan Stormo hauled in 79 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Zac VanMeeteren added 70 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Luke Fraser also caught a touchdown. Fraser also rushed for 171 yards on 24 carries. Fraser added an interception defense, while VanMeeteren had 5.5 tackles. 

Castlewood’s Lane Tvedt threw for 168 yards and three touchdown passes. Quincy Thu, Booker Schooley and Jackson Schofield hauled in touchdown receptions. Tvedt added 49 rushing yards. Jeremiah Wiersma had six tackles. 

 



McCook Central/Montrose 18, Sioux Valley 14

VOLGA — McCook Central/Montrose edged Sioux Valley in Friday high school football action. 

MCM’s Boston Katzer threw for 252 yards and threw two touchdown passes. Jackson Remmers added 117 rushing yards on 23 carries and scored a rushing score. Ty Morrison had 98 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Ty Doblar had 94 receiving yards and caught a score. Carter Randall finished with 14 tackles. 

Sioux Valley’s Donovan Rose rushed for 90 yards and scored two touchdowns. Lane Liebsch added 68 rushing yards. Jace Christensen threw for 86 yards, while Boden Schiller had 47 receiving yards. Schiller finished with 15 tackles. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 50, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0 

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton’s Ryan Krog had a hand in six total touchdowns to pace Elkton-Lake Benton to a Friday high school football win over Iroquois/Lake Preston.

Krog passed for 186 yards and four passing touchdowns, while he rushed for 174 yards and two more touchdowns. Tanner Stein hauled in 91 receiving yards and two touchdown passes. Tanner Drietz and Carson Griffith each had touchdown catches. Stein posted six tackles. 

Iroquois/Lake Preston’s Jake Larsen finished with 53 rushing yards on 12 carries. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 61, Flandreau 7

ELK POINT — Class 11B No. 3 Elk Point-Jefferson cruised past Flandreau for a high school football win on Friday.

EPJ’s Noah McDermott went 12-for-12 passing for 204 yards and three touchdown passes. Ben Swatek rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown, while also adding one receiving touchdown. Devon Schmitz had 67 yards receiving and one touchdown, while adding 59 yards rushing. Lucas Hueser, Christian Mueller, and Chace Fornia each added one touchdown run. Kaden Moore and Ashton Fairbanks each had one receiving touchdown. Jacob Gale had a punt return for a touchdown, while Keaton Gale threw one touchdown pass.

Flandreau’s Paul Parsley passed for 26 yards and rushed for 17 yards and one touchdown. Ethan Hoffman rushed for 47 yards, while Tison Burggraf added 30 yards receiving.


Dakota Valley 14, Madison 7

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class 11A No. 5 Dakota Valley edged Madison in a high school football game on Friday.

Dakota Valley’s Ethan Anema passed for 185 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 69 yards. Trae Piel and Sam Faldmo each had one rushing touchdown. Randy Rosenquist led with 49 receiving yards.

Madison’s Ben Brooks passed for 186 yards and one touchdown, while adding 29 yards rushing. Shane Veenhof had six catches for 113 yards and one touchdown.


Tea Area 38, Yankton 28

YANKTON — Chase Van Tol’s big performance helped Class 11AA No. 2 Tea Area earn a high school football win over Class 11AA No. 3 Yankton on Friday.

Van Tol rushed for 225 yards on 28 carries and one touchdown. Blake Thompson rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns, while Maddix Slykhuis added one rushing touchdown.

Yankton’s Rugby Ryken passed for 264 yards and three touchdowns. Shaylor Platt rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. Tyler Sohler had 80 receiving yards, while Cody Oswald, Evan Serck, and Austin Gobel each had one receiving touchdown.


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 32, Tri-Valley 6

COLTON — Class 11B No. 4 Mount Vernon/Plankinton pulled away from Tri-Valley for a high school football win on Friday.

MVP’s Reed Rus tallied 259 yards rushing on 22 carries and four touchdowns. The Titans rushed for 317 yards as a team.

Tri-Valley’s Isaac McFarland rushed for 51 yards on eight carries. Colby Carruthers had one touchdown run and 14 tackles on defense.


Florence/Henry 27, Deubrook Area 6

FLORENCE — Florence/Henry scored the game’s first 27 points en route to a high school football win over Deubrook Area on Friday.

Florence/Henry’s Mehki Keller rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 75 yards receiving and one touchdown. Tegan Sumner passed for 215 yards and two touchdown passes, while Clay Trupe led with 135 receiving yards and one touchdown. Karter Kohlenberg added 62 rushing yards.

Deubrook Area’s Colin Bauman passed for 160 yards and one touchdown pass, while rushing for 39 yards. Devon Landmark logged 114 receiving yards and one touchdown catch.


Estelline/Hendricks 42, Centerville 16

CENTERVILLE — Estelline/Hendricks cruised past Centerville for a high school football win on Friday.

Centerville’s Cole Edberg passed for 209 yards and one touchdown on 52 attempts, while rushing for 34 yards. Lane Johnson rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown, while Noah Schoenfelder tallied 95 yards receiving and one touchdown reception. Alec Austin had nine tackles and two sacks on defense.

Estelline/Hendricks stats were not reported.


Parker 21, Baltic 6

PARKER — Parker picked up a high school football win over Baltic on Friday.

Parker’s Charlie Patten rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, while Ray Travnicek passed for 110 yards and one touchdown. Levi Berens added a receiving touchdown. Michael Even had 2.5 sacks.

Baltic’s Tate Feucht passed for 65 yards and one touchdown. Carson Roach had one touchdown reception, while Riley Schultz had 9.5 tackles. 


Deuel 55, Dakota Hills 0

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel raced past Dakota Hills for a high school football win on Friday.

Deuel rushed for 266 yards as a team, with Carver Nothem leading the way with 79 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Owen Haas tallied 72 yards rushing and one touchdown, while Trey Maaland added one touchdown run and one touchdown pass. Brayden Simon had a 12-yard touchdown catch, while Dominic Constant added a rushing touchdown. Owen Quail had a 72-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, while Gavin Benck added a 30-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Dakota Hills was led by Dylan Rumpza with 18 yards passing, while Ben Kasuske had 18 yards receiving. Dakota Hills was held to 14 total yards.

 

Philip 54, New Underwood 20

PHILIP — Layton Terkildsen scored five total touchdowns to power Philip to a Friday high school football win over New Underwood. 

Terkildsen finished with 176 rushing yards on 14 carries and scored four rushing touchdowns, while he added a receiving touchdown. He had two interceptions on defense. 

Philip’s Ryker Peterson added 93 rushing yards on 13 carries and scored two rushing scores. Jess Jones passed for 204 yards and a touchdown, while Samuel Hand hauled in three catches for 160 yards. 

New Underwood stats were not reported. 

Kadoka Area 44, Jones County 0

KADOKA — Kadoka Area amassed 368 total yards en route to a high school football win over Jones County on Friday.

Kadoka Area’s Gabriel Fauske rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns and added an 88-yard interception return for a touchdown. Tyus Williams had 92 rushing yards and one touchdown, while Owen Fauske added one touchdown run.

Jones County stats were not reported.


Harding County/Bison 52, Dupree 0

DUPREE — Harding County/Bison racked up 339 yards as they picked up a high school football win over Dupree on Friday.

Harding County/Bison’s Kelby Hett completed five passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns. Rylee Veal rushed for 39 yards and three touchdowns, while adding a receiving touchdown. Dawson Kautzman added one rushing touchdown and an interception on defense. Gage Gilbert tallied 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Dupree’s Treg Thorstenson passed for 33 yards. Dupree totaled 29 yards of offense.
