GETTYSBURG — Potter County’s Zoe Meinke had a career night from the 3-point line on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The junior girls basketball player nailed a school-record 10 3-pointers in a 51-46 loss against Herreid/Selby Area. Meinke finished 10 of 18 from the 3-point line and tossed in a team-high 30 points in the loss.

The South Dakota girls basketball record most 3-pointers in a game is 12, set by Crow Creek's Ashley Ross in 2005. Mitchell Christian's Jill Young is second on the all-time list with 11 3-pointers in 2004.

The moment was a long time coming for Meinke, who has undergone numerous knee injuries the past few seasons.

As a middle schooler, Meinke played one year due to knee injuries and her injury woes followed her in high school. She played her freshman season, but sustained another knee injury during her sophomore volleyball season.

As a result, she missed last basketball season and spent months rehabbing for moments like Tuesday.

“Trying to find her rhythm shooting and playing has been challenging at times, but she seems to have found it,” Potter County coach Tricia Heien said. “She is a big shooter for us and has had some big shots throughout the season. We are loving this is coming together for her, especially at this time of the season going into region play.”
